Hello again-- I forgot--PATTY- I got your pics and Jarin is so cute!! So is Jesse(SP??)You look just like I thought!!Cute family!!

We just got back fromDS's hockey game. It was almost where we all met today-pretty far.They won though so thats a good thing!DS is off to stay at a friends house tonight, and Amanda just went to bed--10:30PM!!! and so did DD.I was planning to get in our jacuzzi since DH is away but I haven't made it there yet-- one day maybe-LOL!

We also did meet Charline and Hayden- she is really nice and Hayden is a doll!!! The cutest little face!! Baby Lexi was there too- they are really nice too but don't remember their names?? She is wks old and on the BT board after I was gone.I was the only one there solo- DH's were all there but mine. It was wierd b/c I was there b/f Birdie- of course I was looking for someone in a thong and mink-LOL!!--And saw two couples talking w/strollers but didn't know DH's were comming and never saw pics of anyone so I glanced at them but no sign of it being them even though they were supposed to be watching for a red jogging stroller, so I sat to the side waiting and then came Birdie- they looked like they were just meeting for the 1st time so I wandered over and it was them!!! So nice to meet-- you all should try and do it with those in your area.

Well, my baby is one today (actually about 10 minutes ago officially!) The party went well, though it was loud and crowded. There were a few people who just wouldn't leave! I think they got the hint when we started talking about ordering pizza for our dinner. Paige got some great gifts. Her uncle bought her a megablocks train (a great success with everyone!), her granddad bought her a savings bond and a cute outfit, and from her friends she got books, a puzzle, a flashlight and a bunch of other stuff. The adults seemed to love the tupperware blocks that we bought her. They wouldn't put them down! We have tons of leftovers. I think I'll be eating crackers and cold cuts for the next week!!!

Christ, Julianne, Patty - Thankyou for the birhtday cards. Paige thought they were all cute, though she couldn't figure out how to take them off the screen!LOL

Thankyou everyone else for your birthday wishes. I just can't believe my little baby is a year. It really does seem like just a few weeks ago I was in the hospital with her, counting her fingers and toes. It makes me more than a little sad.

Jennifer - Well, I know that Paige is only a year and throws temper tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants. Luckily she's still fairly easy to distract!

Cathy - I'll send those pics out today.

Christi - YES! Go back to your doctor. If he doesn't give you an answer you like, get another opinion. I was only 'diagnosed' in the last month. The meds are starting to work (and you don't have to take them forever) but so does having people you can talk to and a really good support system. You are doing the hardest job in the world. Please, e-mail at anytime. I know how hard it is to talk, but it helps. I'm sending you a big long bear hug!OOOOOOOO I'll send you pics tonight.

Well, that's all for me. I had a really busy day and tomorrow we're off to my parents for the second half of Paige's bday. Hugs and Kisses to all of you and your babies!

#1-the meeting went great yesterday, we had a great time!!! It was great to meet everyone, the babies were so adorable!!!

#2-I have some new pictures of Miss Lexie scanned, they are from September, but they are of her!!! If anyone is interrested in seeing them, please email me, and I will be happy to show off my little beauty and send them to you!!! (LOL)

Hi mommies. Well, I once again jinxed Jarin's sleeping habits. LOL. He went to bed about 9:45 last night and then woke up at 4:30 and STAYED up until 6:30. UGH. He just rolled around the bed, got up and walked around and (I know this isn't funny, but it still cracked me up) walked into the wall by the dresser. I heard him start crying, so I turned on the light on our bed and there he was, standing in the corner. He looked like he was in time out or something. He got back on the bed and then fell off! My poor little monster. Finally, he fell back asleep, thank heaven!
**Helen: Thanks for the compliments on my boys. I'm a little prejudiced, but I think they're pretty great. LOL. Sounds like the meeting was a success. I hope all us Midwest moms can get together soon.
**Rebecca: Sounds like your party went well. I still can't believe how fast this past year has gone. Makes me happy and sad all at once.
**Lynn: I am sending a pic of Jarin your way. Would love to see Lexie, although I'm sure it will make me sad that she is still so little.

Send me pics who ever has them. I love seeing the faces to match with the personalities and stories. Riley is sitting in his ighchair giving me mad eyes. He's coloring and jabbering, but if I look at him he gets mad. I think it's nap time. I'm waiting on my oldest sis to come over. We are planting bulbs today. I'm going to attempt to get Rileys pic done tomorrow. He is a bear about it. Usually he cries so hysterically, no pics! Moriah used to get hysterical when our Mom took her for new shoes. Now, however, she has more shoes than Imelda Marcos!!!! Maybe Riley will grow up to have a photo fettish. LOL. On to personals before I have to put down Mr. Mad Eyes for his nap.

Kahne**Great poem. I too need to lose ALOT of weight. We can give each other encoragement.
Sarah**I love ER. Never miss it. I cried hard when Dr. Benton was talking to Carla. It hit to close to home for me.
Kelli**What about a surragate? If it were someones elses egg and, of course, sperm, I would consider having a baby for a couple. But only if they fit MY standards. I have friends who adopted. They supported this couple for months. Then the couple decided to keep the baby. My friends found out the couple had promised the same baby to 4 other families. They all were giving these idiots $$. One month later, they showed up in Yreka and called my friends. Said come get the baby. Their lawyer arranged for the idiots to go into Oregon and sign their rights away. Up there you don't have the 6 month waiting period. Anyway, the've had the boy ever since, but he does have a lot of emotional problems. Also these people have given away 4 other babies. They pretty much are selling them to whoever sends the most money. Now that is where forced steralization should come into play. The boy my friend got was really sick. He had thrush so bad he could barely eat. Anyway, I hope that someday your friends are blessed.
Rita**I assume a Belgian is a dog??
Amy**My oldest had his pacy until he was 3. I let him have it if we were home. But if he tried to talk, I made him put it away. Just try to have patients. Maybe she will want to trade it for toys from Santa?
Beth**When there are other kids visiting my house, I make them mind. I make my boys mind when we are visiting. It's only right. I know people who I hate to have come over because of their kids.
Patty** Yay for Jarin!!! I'm so glad he came out of everything so well.
Lucinda**Someone stole our Fox Terrier/Jack Russell puppy. When we finally got her back, she came down with parvo and died. Take your pup and have her checked out and get any vac's she might need. If those people had a lot of dogs, chances are they don't do vac's and she could've been exposed. I might get my boys a new pup for x-mas.

Well, Riley is turned backwards in his highchair asleep. Poor kid. He has a non-observant Mommy!!!

Hello from Rita.

Wow, all three of my "babies" are down for naps! Time to myself, what a luxury!

We were actually successful getting the pictures done. Not as many backgrounds as we had hoped for, but beggars can't be choosers, especially with the Divine Miss M. We got this shot of Amy in her bear suit with her arms up like she's a fercious little bear that is too cute. You'll have to wait until we get them at the end of the month, though.

Cathy G - The Music Blocks toy is an electronic box with blocks on top. It comes with a cartridge of thirty Mozart musical phrases that can be played in many combinations by turning the blocks over and switching them around. It also has World Music and Sounds of the Orchestra cassettes. Dh is a big gadgeteer and this really appealed to him. All toys have to meet his seal of approval (him wanting to play with them), you know. It's a bit over Amy's head, but she loves music and is starting to work with shape sorters, too.

Christi - Thank goodness Caleb isn't triple his birthweight! Twenty seven pounds is alot to carry around! I think that adage might apply to lower birth weight babies. Maddy tripled, but she was just under seven at bith. Amy may get close to quadrupling, but she was only 5#, 5oz at birth.

Helen - Thanks for the pictures of you children. Amanda is gorgeous. Now we just have to see you! I am jealous that you, Birdie, cCharline and Lynn got to meet! From what I "heard", you'll have to keep an eye on Noah.

Birdie - I am disappointed that you didn't wear the thong and mink! I still can't wait to see the pictures of everyone. It's just as well that we didn't fix up Noah with Amy since he sounds like a bit of a smooth type. LOL

Shelly - Yes, the Belgian in qustion is not Hercule Poirot, but our Belgian Shepherd mix. My sister has Jack Russells and the female is going to whelp soon. We'll be able to see the puppies at Christmas. I can't imagine how tiny they will seem after my two dogs!(Our other dog is a Border Collie mix) We are considering getting a third and smaller dog next year, probably a Schipperke. I love a menagerie - makes up for not having many pets as a child!

Well, I am off to pick up some pictures for some more scrapbook material. Take care everyone!

Hello mommies! Well just to start off, AF showed her ugly face today! I had forgotten how painful menstrual cramps are! Guess we won't be trying for another baby until about May because being huge during summer here in TX is not fun!! I learned that the first time. Lets see, do I have any braggin to do tonight???? Hmmmmm.....actually I don't. Adam hasn't done anything out of the ordinary in the last few days. He was, though, pretty wound up tonight, he was acting really silly. I have personals:

Crystal- Hideho neighbor! My ex (boyfriend) used to live in NRH. I love NRH20, it is so much less crowded than Wet n Wild (now Hurricane Harbor) and cleaner. Its nice to know I have someone who understands when I complain about the weather here in TX.
Can someone send some cold weather our way please? I mean, it's the middle of Nov for goodness sake!!

CathyG- About "stroller tantrums" -- Adam has this new thing that he wants to walk and hold one of my fingers (just one) whenever we are in a store or mall. When I go to put him back in his stroller, he becomes "board boy" and stiffens up, then starts kicking and screaming. Its all I can do to keep my sanity!

Christi- I want that CD sooo bad! We also love the "Bear in the Big Blue House" I'm officially an addict.

Helen- Those pictures were great!! So what if I had to lean over to one side to see them!! Haha J/K! You have beautiful kids!! I had pics of Adam, but I lost them on our hard drive when it crashed and stupid me didn't back them up on a disk. We are going to get a scanner within the next week and then I will send some pics of him out!!

Rebecca- Happy birthday to Paige!! There is no distracting my little monster. Once he has set his mind on something he is determined to do it!! He has this new thing to whenever we say "nite nite" or "bye bye", he goes over and shuts off the TV. Sometimes when my DH is watching TV, he'll just go over and shut it off if he wants to go somewhere or go to bed. We say no a hundred times and try to distract him, but nothing works until we just finally give up....remote in hand!

LuCynda- Yay! I cannot wait to see how this site works out! I've already bookmarked it. You can expect my pics to be coming in as soon as we get that scanner!!

Christi here, another week-end is over :o( It seems it just started, oh well! Caleb has been something else the last few days, I guess his personality has really budded. He is a tease! And he NEVER stops moving, but I guess I wouldn't want him any other way. We started decorating for Christmas today--a little early, but I couldnt wait for some reason. The tree will wait. On to personals....

*Shelly* too bad about the trouble and heart ache your friends had to go thru. But, atleast they now have a child to love, and the boy has loving parents!
*Rita* Amy was a little one, my DD too, 5 12 and was 23 at 1 year. Then Caleb was 9 even, talk about a BIG difference! I am glad he didn't triple!
*LuCynda* I will send you some pics of the kids within a few days, ones of DH and I are harder to come by!! Thanks!

Hi Crystal and Darrel here.

Jennifer: I know what you mean. It's still in the 90's. Well, I guess we can have Thanksgiving at the pool. I haven't been to NRH20 yet. I'm planning on going in the summer. Of course, it's still practically summer as it is. I'm sorry that AF showed her ugly face. She still hasn't came to see me. As far as I'm concerned, she can stay away. I've been getting cramps, but Af never shows up. My milk dried up over three months ago, and now I can express milk again. Couldn't do that several months ago. I hope that I am pg. If I am, the baby will be born in June or July. I have all the symptoms I've had when I got PG with Darrel, except I haven't been having the dreams. I should know for sure by Thanksgiving. It's normal for me to be a week or two late or even miss a visit entirely. However, it's rare for me to miss two consecutive visits. I plan to take another test next week.

I have a question for the mothers who formerly breastfed and whose milk has dried up. I breastfed Darrel until he was two months old and my milk dried up at about 8 or 9 months. However, I have recently been able to express milk again. Has anyone ever experienced this? Please let me know. If I'm PG, is it possible that I'm no longer dry because of this? With Darrel I didn't start producing anything until I was about 4 or 5 months.

Hi everyone, it's Charline & Hayden from the BT board coming over to say a quick hello. I miss all of you guys and will be over in a few months.

It was so nice meeting you Birdie and Helen! Your babies(toddlers) are very cute! We'll have to meet again sometime. It was so nice to put faces to the names that I have seen so much and talked to for awhile. Maybe Lise and Sue will be able to come next time.

To everyone else hi! Hayden has his CAT scan on Tuesday. I have my fingers crossed that everything will be ok. I'll check back in to let you all know after.

Hey everyone! YES, SARAH- IT'S MONDAY!! YUCK, I KNOW, I know!! LOL! I hope you guys had a good weekend! Saturday, I spent 4 hours getting my hair done! 4 HOURS! I was ticked, but oh well. It wouldn't have mattered, except I wanted to get a few other things done while I was out with DH to help. Anyway, I got my hair cut and hi-lighted. It's about chin-length and I love it! This is the shortest I have ever had my hair. Elizabeth has been wonderful! She has such a cute personality and it just keeps on blooming. Tonight, she was wearing my bra on her head and walked around SO proud. DH and I talked about trying to have our 2nd next September. Elizabeth will be almost 3 by the time the baby is born. I can't wait!!

BIRDIE, I have no clue as to why Noah hides when he is having a bm. I wouldn't worry that you did anything. He will probably be very easy to potty train later since he's hiding. I am also very discouraged about the pregnancy weight that I can't get rid of. I could stand to lose about 20 to 30 pounds. I just want to lose it before I have another baby!! I'm so sorry to hear about your 1st boyfriend being killed. That must be so weird and very hard to think about.

BETH, My mom got Elizabeth the same Little Tykes Kitchen that you talked about... I think. Elizabeth has the Fisher Price Little People Main Street and LOVES IT!!

JENNIFER, Elizabeth throws some pretty good tantrums too. I have found that if I ignore them, they don't last as long. How is your mouth feeling from your pulled wisdom tooth? Ah... so the lovely AF has visited you today, huh? She came here on Wed. and is still here...She's wearing out her welcome!

AMY, WELCOME! My only suggestion to get rid of Korianna's Pacifier is to throw them away and live through a couple days of torture. It will be VERY ROUGH, but will probably only last a few days. Also, maybe take all her pacifiers and let her throw them away one by one and after she throws each one away, let her pick out a little treat. GOOD LUCK!

RITA, Hi! So glad to hear that the girls' pictures went well. Amy sounds cute in her little bear suit!

LUCYNDA, Glad to hear that you found your dog! It sounds like he's glad that you found him too! I'm going to check out your site when I leave here.

DEBBIE, That is TOO cute about Maddie dragging Emilee! I bet Emilee just giggled!

SHELLY, It's a long story, but to make it short, my cousins did look into having a surrogate (had her picked out and everything) But it wasn't going to work out for several reasons.

PATTY, TOO CUTE about Jarin standing in the corner! Hey, you better not tell us when Jarin sleeps good through the night-- you might jinx it!

CRYSTAL, I quit nursing Elizabeth in January and I CAN STILL express a drop or two of milk!!! My ob/gyn told me it can take up to A YEAR for milk to dry up for some people. Don't stimulate your breasts in any way and don't try to express are the suggestions my doc told me.

CHRISTI, weekends go by way too fast, don't they? You're an early bird for christmas aren't ya? I'm getting into the Christmas spirit a little early too. I have my Christmas shopping almost done and half even wrapped. Now, there's a FIRST!!

LISAB, I AM REALLY looking forward to hearing from you and how you are doing! I hope all is going well!

OH... I forgot to add this in my last posts: Because our hard drive crashed a couple weeks ago, we got a new one and are in the process of installing everything again. We haven't installed a couple programs that I need to open any pictures that you guys have sent, so I haven't been able to look at all the cutie pies yet. I also haven't installed our scanner software so I can't send you guys picts yet either. PLEASE... don't quit sending stuff, I just may not be able to get to it for a few days. I can't wait to send you guys updated picts of my trouble-maker! HAVE A GREAT MONDAY EVERYONE! LOVE YA!

Hi from LisaB. What a weekend. Surgery Thursday, weaned Max Thursday, started my period Friday, and found out today that I start a new job December 1 with about a $12,000 year raise (and everyone is ticked off at work because they aren't happy with the person who was hired as my new boss). I'm working like mad to finish up all my ongoing projects on my current job (that I've been at less than a month) so things are VERY hectic right now. I'll be back later today to give you all the gory details on the nasal tampons and other fun experiences of my weekend.

I didn't have time to read posts - just skimmed for news on JARIN. I'm so happy his surgery went well!!!! I can't imagine how hard it was not nursing him - I had to wean Max because of the pain pills I'm on and it breaks my heart when he SCREAMS and pulls at my shirt :-(

The weekend went way too fast. We didn't do too much, had lots of fun playing with Colton. I took him to my sisters on Saturday to play w/ his cousin. They have a swing set outside. He loves the slide. He managed to climb up the wood ladder by himself. He couldn't get his leg onto the slide to sit forward so he would put it over the side and go down on his stomach (feet first). Big smiles. He did this over and over and over. Poor thing got bruises on his legs from climbing up though.

Sunday his teeth were really bothering him again. I can't wait untill they are all in. He wouldn't eat anything, just lots of bottles. Just when we were ready for bed he was wide awake. Of course DH got him out of bed instead of letting him try to put himself back to sleep on his own. Dh can't stand to hear him cry. Talk about a pushover!

I'm looking for suggestions on videos that your toddlers like. Colton loves his Disney Animal Kingdom sing-a-long one, but I have seen it so many times I find myself singing these songs to myself all day long!! He loves the music and the animals. What are your kids' favorites?

LuCynda: What a week you had. I hope you get another chance to get your D/L soon. I'm glad you got your dog back. My parents have had 3 dogs stolen from their house over the past 5 years. They finally gave up and no longer own a dog. The baby photo website sounds like a great idea. Once I get some of my family that I can forward to you I will.

Debbie: I think rug burns are a fair price for lots of giggles. Your two really play good together.

Patty: So glad to hear that Jarin's surgery went well. Poor thing wanting breakfast and lifting your shirt even. Please send me pictures of Jarin. The last ones I saw were the ones of him in the BT photo album. Hope Jarin has a better night sleeping tonight, no falling out of bed or standing in time-out!!

Jennifer: Wow, Adam climbed into his high chair--what a surprise. Colton tries to climb out and I am so afraid he is going to take a tumble one of these days. I too had just 1 wisdom tooth removed and then about a year later had the rest done at once. They were causing my jaw so much pain that it even locked on me. Freaked me out big time. I wish I hadn't waited until then. I think that is why I have so much trouble with my jaw today.

Crystal: Yeah for Darrel putting himself to sleep on the mat at daycare. I am just starting to put Colton in bed partially awake. If he cries from more than a few minutes it is a race between me and DH to see who gets him out first!

Christi: Great check-up Caleb. Yes, call your dr about your new feelings of PPD.

Helen: So sweet of Noah to hug Amanda. I'm sure they had lots of toddler advice to exchange. LOL. What a fun meeting.

Rebecca: Glad Paige's first b-day went so well. I know what you mean about guests not wanting to leave. At Coltons my Aunt and her 3 kids and their friends showed up just as everyone else was leaving. I had to reheat lunch and feed them. Finally I said it was Colton's nap time and we were all going to sleep in order for them to leave.

Rita: I can't wait to see the "Amy the bear" picture.

Sarah: 4 hrs at the hair dressers. Wow, and I thought 2 hrs was long. I am too chicken to cut mine all at once, it is slowly getting shorter. You are going to have your hands full with little miss underwear girl. Too funny. All this talk about TT#2 is making me want another one. Dh & I joke about it but maybe it is time to have a serious talk.

Charlene: My thoughts will be with you tomorrow for Hayden's CAT scan. I pray that everything will show normal.

BIRDIE--( LISAB) So glad your name is not Birdie--LOL!! Totally forgot what had happened w/there being two LisaB's months back. How did the visit go with 'Gramma Bird'?? Hope you post soon- getting worried and hope you all made it home safe!!

I called this AM and more pics and a disc-- I'm sure all the pics on THIS one are right side up!!-- are ready at the store so I will hopefully have a good one of me and DH to send. Sorry some of you are getting my pics and some not- I got a bunch back and now am so confused as to who rec'd and who didn't??? I will send to everyone when I get these new ones.

Not much going on here today, Amanda is chasing the dog and he is barking to go out- can't imagine why!

Hi, this is Birdie and Noah. Actually Noah is sleeping. It was so cool meeting everyone the other day. I recommend it to all of you. I wish there was a way we could all meet. Hey Web Mom, see what you can do!!!! Anyway, the meeting...
DH and Noah and I got there early. It was closer than we thought. The day started off stressful. First of all, I broke my Ultima compact. I wear Ultima everyday and it was ruined. I went to the store and bought some cheap stuff that made me look like a drag queen. Then my face broke out like crazy. I don't know if it was the new makeup or the stress of visiting DH's Gramma after meeting the girls. I loved meeting with everyone. Let me tell you, Helen and Lynn and Charline are so nice and they have the sweetest babies. You can believe everything they say. Noah and Amanda did hit it off. They look like brother and sister. I hope Noah didn't corrupt Amanda. She is so sweet and noah is a wild man. I spent most of the visit chasing him. I also got to see a picture of Helen's Dh and met all the other guys. They were all nice and good looking so you can believe them on that too. After we met we went to visit the dreaded gramma. I have mentioned before on PT and BT that she really doesn't like me. It was a little stressful but we survived. By that evening my back was killing me. Spent most of Sunday flat on my back.

Kelli- So sad about your cousin.

Debbie- Glad party went well except for the wild ones. My old age didn't help me at all with the sm.

Moriah- Yay about your business and Rachel. I brush Noah's teeth with water and a Gerber brush. It came in a three stages pack with 3 different brushes. I forget a lot though. Maybe I can find a way to include you in the law suit. Fear of pain and suffereing because I couldn't join the board. 2 sets of twins!!! Wowee!!!

Jennifer- Thanks. It's not my real name. Moriah named me Birdie from the movie because I have the same name as someone else on here. It kind of stuck.

Hello all! I have not been here forever!! I have missed you all, but have been trying to sneak a peek when I can! This board sure has gotten busy over the last few months!

I still don't have much time, but I was skimming the posts and wanted to let Kelly (and all the other picutre mom's) that I have never received any more pictures. I get my pictures from Joy, but haven't seen any since June or so. In fact Kelly, I never got a chance to see you! If anyone has me out there, I would love to have them back!

Anyways, Sloane is almost 13 months now. She has been walking since she was almost 10 months. She has been pretty healthy...for all of you who remember, this is a pretty good accomplishment for Sloane! She loves her new daycare. We finally have her in a place that is close enough to home so that she is only there 9 hours instead of 11 hours a day!

For those of you I don't know, I am 22 years old, work full time in systems support and am in Castle Rock, Colorado. I am almost done with school, as an Information Systems Major. I have 24 credits now, and with one more semester to go, DH and I have started thinking about TTC#2. I am pretty excited!

Hi from LisaB. My surgery went ok. I felt faint when they startd to release me so I had to stay in recovery longer than expected. The doc said that my nose collapsed when he removed the scar tissue from the prior surgery so I guess it was a good thing I got it fixed. The tampons weren't too bad - they had short strings tied together under my nose that Max never noticed. It hurt like heck when they pulled them out Saturday. I had to wean Max due to the pain pills. He did good until last night - he has a cold and laid on DH's lap crying for Mom as he wanted to nurse. I felt like the worse Mother other. I was depressed Friday afternoon as my boobs hurt from weaning, I started my period, my nose was sore, and I couldn't pick up my baby. I feel much better now. Max crawls up on the couch and sits by me or comes up to the recliner so I had lift the footrest while he leans against it and then he can crawl up on my lap. I'm sleeping in the recliner (can't prop myself up enough in bed to breathe) and will be for another week. DH was a sweetie until about Saturday evening and then turned into a big old jerk. I would like to see HIM have surgery.

BTW, I'll be 33 on Wednesday and have been married for 5 years to Tom. Maxwell Oran Butler is our one and only but we plan to start TTC #2 as soon as my nose and I feel up to it. I live in central Missouri and work for the state Department of Health (currently as a financial analyst and will be the assistant controller starting December 1).

I skimmed the posts. Between that and 39 e-mails there was no hope of reading everything in detail so please don't feel slighted if I don't post to you! (I started getting all these e-mails for porn sites. I'm the only one who uses my hotmail account and I've never visited a porn site so I'm not sure how I got on this stupid mailing list).

KELLIE: Kelli is a smartie, isn't she?! Sorry to hear about your cousin.

DEBBIE: I'm glad Emilee's party went well.

MORIAH: We've been brushing Max's teeth for months. He has Baby Orajel toothpaste and I small toothbrush the dentist gave me at my last regular checkup (when I asked about brushing Max's teeth). Max "plays at brushing" and then I brush his teeth also - he got 2 more this weekend so he's up to 14 total now! Before that we just rubbed a wet washcloth over his teeth after dinner each night. COngrats on your business and I'm glad to hear Rachelle is doing better. 2 sets of twins - WOW!

JULIANNE: Poo Poo - LOL!!!

LauraB: Max eats Teddy Grahams, Goldfish, Gerber Graduate cookies, animal crackers, grapes cut in 1/2, apples (peeled and chopped), and the Gerber Graduates diced fruits for snacks.

JENNIFER: Max also throws fits. I try to ignore them whenever possible. He walks up to his high chair and grunts when dinner is ready; thankfully he hasn't tried to climb in by himself yet.

Hello to all! I’m trying to behave at work, and only look at the posts before work or on lunch – what are my chances of getting through them all on a Monday!?

Kelli: Way to go Elizabeth on singing! Alex has started singing the ‘round and round’ part of ‘The Wheels on the bus.’ Its so cute, he sings it to his animals in his crib before falling asleep. Hope your knees start to feel better soon, glad dh is helping out lots. Thanks for the advice on the Farm set, I want to get that for Alex for Christmas, he loves the School bus. Thinking about your cousin, that mother doesn’t sound like she’s all there! It’s a shame when there are people who really want kids, and would be wonderful parents.

Debbie: Sounds like Emilee’s birthday went well, sorry she didn’t get to open her presents on her own. Alex was the same with the cake – didn’t know what to do with it, but enjoyed it anyways.

Moriah: Hurray for Baby Rachel!!! That’s great news. Toothbrushing – yes we do it, and no Alex doesn’t like it. He does like to suck on the brush, but sometimes I just have to pin him down and scrub quickly. He doesn’t like anything in his mouth (that he doesn’t put in that is!!!). The cards sound wonderful, I’ll talk to you more when our next baby is born, I’d love you to make to announcements!

SARAH: Too cute about Hannah with the phone talking to daddy. My dh has been down with a bad back, and Alex keeps going into the bedroom asking him to play… Hope babysitting went well on the weekend.

Jullianne: I loved your story about Colton and the poo-poo. Alex is still trying to find his nose, he’s great with his eyes though, he points there for every body part! We also have the naked race after bath time, I keep waiting for him to pee!

Rita: You definitely need to video story time! So the girls sleep in the same room? How is that going? I’m thinking ahead to BB#2! Hope the pictures went well.

Jennifer: I think part of the success at getting Alex to sleep was the timing. He’s old enough now to be able to sleep on his own (or maybe its just that I loved sleeping and cuddling with him for the first year J). Last night I was reading to him in the family room and I asked if he was ready for bed. He got down off my lap, walked to the bedroom, and grabbed the leg of his crib!! Sorry about the wisdom tooth, hope it feels better soon. Yes, we have tantrums too, Alex doesn’t like it when he can’t have his way!!!

LauraB: Diaper rash – Alex has also never had a rash, until lately, and his stools have been really runny. He’s drinking more cow’s milk now, but its not a new addition. I just change him often, and slap on the Desitin. Snack ideas: cheese (or cheese sticks), grapes or other fruit, yogurt, muffin, bread with peanut butter….

Rebecca: I’d love to meet, but you’re right, we should wait until the new year – we’re having the Christmas dinner this year, and I’m already stressing (15 people!!!). HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAIGE!!!!

Katy: Glad Liam’s ear infection is better.

Shelly: Alex does the same thing with the laundry, nice of them to help BUT…..

Kahne: I was LOL with your poem!!! But 20lbs in one month?? Maybe you should talk to your doc, don’t they recommend 1 lb per week? Best of luck, and I hope it stays off! Aren’t those baby pounds fun to get rid of!

Beth: Isn’t it so sad to give the babies their first haircut. Alex got his last month, he also looks way better, but he’s lost those cute little baby curls…

Birdie: I have heard of babies hiding to poop, I don’t think its that they’re embarrassed, they just want privacy. I don’t know. Hope your reunion went well.

LuCynda: I’m so glad you got your dog back. To bad about missing your learner’s appointment. I’d love to be in on the baby picture page. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Cody!!!

Well, Paige was spoiled rotten last night at my parents house. There were multiple packages for her (mostly from them!). I am happy to say that our present was the one played with the most. She was really cranky, and would not nap all day. Then the poor thing was up half the night coughing and sneezing. I think today will be full of naps! (Thank goodness)

Helen - I couldn't open the pics (no idea why), but send me the new ones.

Shelly - I'll send you Paige's pics today.

Somebody, HELP! My 19-month old son is a biter! He has bitten 2 of his cousins (2-yr old twins) and another little boy at daycare. He has tried to bite his mom and dad before, and he always gets a time out. Sometimes it seems like he gets frustrated and upset and thats why he bites, sometimes he just seems to bite for no reason! Is he old enough to understand time-outs? Is there any other anti-biting "therapy" that you know of? He understands 'No', and he seems really bright to me (his loving dad), but his day-care lady doesn't think time-outs will do it. Any advice or experiences you have had are appreciated. Thanks

Hello from Rita.

I was moving too slow this AM to post. Couldn't get to sleep at a decent hour last night. We rented "Life is Beautiful" and the images were so powerful that my mind wouldn't shut down when told. Gotta sleep tonight because I have an interview tomorrow. Not a great job, but is it at the facility closest to my house.

Lisa B - Oh, I feel for you on the weaning issue. I know how hard it must be for you and for poor little Max. Hang in there - BB#2 is not far away. Congratulations on the new job!!!

Sarah W - We had a little trouble with getting the girls on the same sleep schedule at first. We put Amy in the room with Maddy when she was about a month old. I would BF in the room and only remove Amy if she got too loud and might wake Maddy. I don't think that they would want it any other way these days. They can already make each other laugh.

Liam is adapting well to daycare. They finally were able to get him to take a nap today after I told them how we did it at home. He just loves it there and gets along well with the other kids, so far.

Hello everyone! We juat rented "Jack Frost" last night and it was so good. It was really touching. Of course I cried at the end. That movie I was talking about the other night was "My Life". I remembered the name right after I got done posting and got off-line. No exciting news today. I've been calling in sick to work for the last week just to spend time with my DH and Adam, but I have to go back on Wednesday before they fire me!! Boo-Hoo :(. I want to be a SAHM soooo bad! We've been discussing it for a while. The thing is, that my job is with an airline and you have to bid for days off- like holidays. They gave me Thanksgiving off, but the night after I have to work. Also, I may have to work Xmas, my seniority is not that high so I don't get priority when bidding for holidays. I have been depressed about this forever. Adam will be so excited this Xmas, and I will just die if I have to work Xmas Eve and Xmas. I am Catholic, so Xmas Eve mass at church is a really big tradition for my family. Then we have dinner with friends me and my family have known for 20 years. (Since I was 2!) I haven't missed a Xmas Eve at their house in 18 of those years! this is killing me! I know if I call in sick on a holiday like Xmas, I probably would get fired....not like I'd mind, but we really do need the money. (and the flight benifits). Sorry, I just had to vent tonight about that. it has been bothering me. Well everyone, I have to go fix my DH some supper......Hugs to all.....OOOOOOOO

Hi everyone, Kahne here!

I hope everyones weekend went well, even though it went by too fast! Tomorrow is my birthay, I will be 22, I know old woman, hehe. The diet is going well, I have avoided the fast food temptation so far, keep yalls fingers crossed for me. I have done some research, and have decided I will be headed to USM in a couple of years. I will have one year to finish my bachelors, and then off to Med school, HOPEFULLY! I will be a medical examiner in about 6-7 years hopefully. I am kinda scared, but I have decided to hold off on any more children till I am out of school, completely! I know my kids will be pretty far apart, but I really dont have a problem with that. I only really wanted two anyway.

Hello all. Boy what a day. The principal finally pulled his head out of whoevers rear it was in and called me. Jesse starts into the new classroom tomorrow. His teacher called me this evening to ask why. Boy, was that a hard conversation. I told her she shouldn't take it personally, that I just did not agree with the K-1 split. I also told her, I thought, she had a lot of troubled students in her class that needed to go home and start K next year. Anyway. Jess did score a 98% on his recent evaluation. Riley ran so much at daycare today, he came home and took a 3 hour nap. I bet I'll be up all night tonight. Last night I was so stressed about having to tell the teacher why I took my son out of her class, I tossed and turned. My Mom called me at 6:30 am, to let me know her hubby is in the hospital with Shingles. They are visiting in Texas right now. My Uncle (I'm never coming to CA) Jim has to drive them home. Then I get to drive him back to the Bay Area to catch a plane. Moriah, here I come!!!! Get that boy ready to see his Auntie!!!!!! I love how my mother volenteers me to do these things. I'm only agreeing so that I can see Mo and Alex. We rescued a kitten today. It was by the road. I was on my way to the vet for my dog, so I went ahead and had him look at the cat too. The poor thing is so bone thin you can see his guts through his tummy. So now I have to give him antibiotics, for a cold, and very high quality food. I wonder if the vet would think tacos were high quality. Because that is what the boys fed him tonight. He is orange and fluffy. I'm sure someone dumped him. I told the boys they could keep him only if they agree to keep him outside. We have a nice covered porch and a garage. They named him Poke. So much for the pup for x-mas. Oh well, cats are easier.
Rita** I had a Schipperke. He had to have my complete attention or he went nuts. He would try to sit in between Riley and my boob, if I were nursing. When he didn't get his way, he lifted his leg on my furniture. I gave him to some friends. They adore him, but he stays outside with their other dog. My advice, get a female, they can't pee on the oak china hutch!LOL. How much do they sale their Jack Russels for?

Will Wyatt**Welcome!! One thing I never understood is, if your telling your kiddo not to bite and then you bite him? How does that work? I just tell my son NO. He knows by the tone of my voice, I mean it. We are just now getting to the biting stage. But I've been through two others. If he is getting bit at daycare, try to talk to the provider. Riley didn't start trying to bite us, until he was being bitten at daycare. I think it's a Monkey see Monkey do thing. Good luck!!

Hi mommies. It's 11:00 and I should be in bed, but of course I had to check in here first. I was rocking my little angel monster (Jarin) and nursing him before I put him to bed. He fell asleep and I just kept staring at his sweet little face. He smiled in his sleep and it just melted my heart. I love this little guy sooooo much!! He is just the best thing. He was so cute at dinner tonight. He was putting his food on his spoon and then trying to get the spoon to his mouth, but every time he put the spoon toward his mouth, the food would fall off. He ran a little fever tonight so I called the doctor. She said to watch him thru the night, but it is probably the flu that is going around. After some Advil, he perked up and played, but every once in a while he would just come cuddle. You know that just broke my heart, right? LOL

**Shelly: That "baby couple" has some serious problems. Made me sick just reading it. Some people have no right ever having children. Too cute about Riley falling asleep in the high chair. One of the kids at Jarin's sitters falls asleep that way every day. She can't put him down for a nap until he falls asleep in the high chair!
**LuCynda: I can't wait to see the site. I am getting some new film developed so will send you pics of Jarin in a few days. The ones of DH and I will probably be very old, since we don'thave too many of us.

**Jennifer: I bet it is tough to worry about having to work holidays. My DH is a police officer, so he almost always has to work on holidays, BUT if it's not busy he does get to stay home, so it's not as bad as having to be on a plane somewhere! Hope things work out ok for you.

I had to check back in before I went to sleep. I forgot how addicting you all can be! Poor DH has got food poisoning, and I am trying to stay away from him...he is cranky when he is sick!

Crystal- I don't think I have met you but congrats on +! That is very exciting...good luck to you through your pregnancy!

Speaking of pregnant women...are Joy and Tonya still around?? Hope you both are doing great too!

Patty and Julianne- I got Sloane some of the "Veggie Tales" videos...they are cartoon veggies and they basically act out kindness and fairness, and stuff like that. They have a religious overtone, so if you okay with that, these video's are great! They sing a lot, and the cartoon characters are very colorful. Of course, Sloane is not a big tv kid yet either, so I think I am the only one who has watched them so far.

Rebecca- Congrats on Paige turning one! I'll bet you all had a great time! Sloane turned one on Ocotber 10th.

Will- I do not have a biter, but I have a hitter. Last week I got a call from the babysitter telling me Sloane was hitting other kids with toys. Basically what we do is take Sloane by the arm, look at her and say, "Sloane, no hitting. Nice touches." then we take the toy or whatever and either move her...or try to ignore her as she throws a temper tantrum. She is getting better though, and we use Nice Touches on everything from the other kids to the dog. Maybe some form of repetitive reasoning would work. Sloane also knows time out, but we call it break time. If she keeps hitting the other kids we will do the whole nice touches thing, and if that does not work we will take her hand and walk her to the other end of the room, sit her down, and make her stay seated for about 30 seconds or so. Just some ideas...I am not a great discipliner. It breaks my heart to hear her cry.

Birdie- I had a friend who's son hid when he went #2 also. I have heard that since they are conscious of doing #2, they may be easier to potty train.

Moriah- So glad to hear all of the great news about Alex!! You and your family have come a long way!! I am so happy for all of you!

Now it is really time for bed. My eyes are getting fuzzy from staring at the computer.

Colton has started to kiss the pooh tub spout cover every time he gets into the bathtub. It is so cute. He also helps hand me the toys to put away before he gets out. Of course once the bath tub is free of toys he wants to splash in the water until it is gone, then he waves and says bye bye to the drain.

We are having quite the relaxed week at work. The man in charge of our plant closing brought his 5yr old daughter with him from out of state. We are all spoiling her with toys and play time. My sister is dropping her daughter off tomorrow to play with her and I get to watch her 6mo old baby while she goes to parent teacher conferences.

I don't think I will be getting much work done this week. I am running home for lunch to get a cot for her to take a nap on and some videos to keep her entertained!!

I have another question for you all. When did you stop using a high chair? Lately Colton drags his booster seat from the living room to the kitchen. I have him sit on it while he draws at the table. Now he seems to want to eat there too. I would love to put the highchair in storage as I am constantly tripping over it and moving it out of my way in my teenie tiny kitchen.

LisaB: Glad to hear that you made it through the surgery. Yeah for the new job and great pay raise. Take care.

Birdie: Sorry to hear your visit to DH's grandma knocked you on your back. Wow, I never knew your name wasn't really Birdie!

Helen: Thanks for all the pictures. It is so great to put faces to my cyber friends. The costumes were great. The toe jam one was the best, Amanda is concentrating so hard. Colton loves to stand on a box and play w/ the adding machine on my desk at our shop.

Christi: Wow, front page Caleb. Cute picture. I wish they would put the child's name by the picture so we would know who they are.

Will: Welcome. You have to make it clear to your son that biting is not nice and that you do not want to be around him when he bites. I have started using time-out w/ my 16mo old. When we put him in his playpen we go in another room and keep our backs towards him so he can see us, but he knows that we are not happy w/ him. Good luck.

Rita: Hope your job interview goes well.

Crystal: Wow, good thing you took another test. Congratulations!!!

Katy: It is great that Liam is adjusting to daycare so well. The interaction with other kids his age is so important at this stage.

Jennifer: I will be praying for you to be able to spend x-mas eve and x-mas w/ your family. Working away from your family on a holiday must be stressful and hard. I hope it all works out for you.

Kahne: You go girl--good plan for finishing med school and getting a job. Good luck on your diet. I have been really trying to just eat less, always leaving something on my plate. I have lost 2 pounds in the past 2 weeks so I hope it still works, especially w/ the holidays coming up.

Hi everyone, from Stacey! Long time, no talk, huh? Or no post, I guess. Well, I am finally back to work (ok, not finally, my maternity leave flew by) but at least I can post again. Actually, as of tomorrow I will be able to post from home since we bought a new computer, which arrives today, and we are getting a cable modem put in tomorrow.

The kids are good. DH is actually going to work from home now and is watching them while I come to the office, since our live in daycare bailed with a day's notice.

Franchesca is 15 months now and is really starting to try our patience at times. She insists on yanking the pacifier out of Alexa's mouth and for the past few days she has been hitting the baby too. I saw that a few of you were mentioning concerns about how to get your child tostop biting or hitting, and I have the same question. I tried smacking her hand and she turned around and slapped the baby (I think she got the message that it is ok to hit when I did it). A stern "NO" from us is met with a stern "NO" back from her and a smack to the baby's head. We have tried time out in her room and in her crib and she still does not get the message. When she gets near the baby I try to tell her calmly to be gentle and she will at first, but then she gets excited and it's "whack" again. I read her books about babies and we practice touching them gently, but it still doesn;t sink in. My husband will still keep the baby in her infant seat on the ground within Franchesca's reach since he thinks she has to learn sooner or later, but it isn't sinking in and I have taken to keeping her up high so she doesn;t get smacked.

Other than getting beat up on, though, Alexa is doing fine. She is 7 weeks old today. She is a really good baby. I still am not getting much sleep, though.

I have tried to skim through the posts to get an idea of how you all have been, but it has been hard to keep up. I promise to be better going forward.

Crystal-- CONGRATULATIONS! And good luck! Sounds like you are in for a wild ride.

Well, I need to get going since I am teaching a class in 5 minutes. It is nice to be back though!

Hello from Helen&Amanda!!

Well- DH is going to be home tonight-- Have to get the house in order so it doesn't look like I've been having TOO much fun!!

PATTY-- HopeJarin is doing well- poor little guy! I know how you feel on having another baby-- DH says we're done and I would like another even though it would make things more difficult- travelling, kids and sports and chauffeuring them around- someone would have to share a room???? Not sure- and its impossible to have an 'oops' since I'm on the pill. Now at 35 the clock is ticking louder!!

WELCOME--- Amanda and Sloane---- and LuCynda and Cody!!!!

LISAB-- Poor Max-- hope he is progressing with the weaning. :o( How are you feeling?????Great news about the big raise!!!

MORIAH-- Amanda has a toothbrush in our bathroom and the downstairs one- she loves to brush, she just chews on it and only has 8-teeth in front, so I'm sure she is getting them all w/the brush.Glad to hear baby Rachel is doing well!!! Her mom must be so happy to have someone to talk to who knows exactly what she is feeling and going through.

LAURAB-- Amanda snacks on cheese slices; raisins; bananas; ritz crackers; and sometimes a cookie.

LUCYNDA--The baby page was great-- Don't thinkI'll have time or the knowledge to get anything on there though.

WILL WYATT--- I will have to agree- when a child understands 'no' and continues to bite-- biting back works I have also heard-- goodluck !!!

CRYSTAL-- Hope your pg goes well- how is DH with all of this??? Everything was up in the air with the two of you on and off for a while and with him 'not wanting to know yet', I hope things are better. :o)

JULIANNE-- If Colton sits in the booster seat and reaches the table ok I would let him use it-- I bought Amanda one yesterday that folds( I think Hannah has the same one??) and she loves sitting in it and dragging it around the house.

OK--- For the new 'girls' --- I am 35( as of 2wks ago) DH is 35(36 next month) We will be married 15 yrs on the 1st of Dec.,Amanda is our third and very planned- Kevin is 13(2/26/86) and Vicki is 11(2/15/88). They love having a little sister and still fight over her at least once a day! DH is a builder and I am a SAHM,we live in MA,( I am originally from NB- Canada.)

OK- have to go and clean- I will try and get more pics out to those I missed- I think only LuCynda and Katy??

Hi from LisaB. Well I just officially accepted the new position - about a $13,000/year raise! Oh my God, I'm in shock. The main reason for the raise is that I'll be the 2nd in command in the unit and therefore "have" to make more money than everyone else in my unit. I personally think my new salary is ridiculous BUT I'm not going to complain! All the extra will be socked away in savings, CDs, etc. to serve as a cushion once we have #2 and I become a SAHM. What a great birthday present (a day early) ... the financial security to quit work once we have more kids! Oh course DH said he'll quit and I can keep working but he makes more than enough for us to live on and would go absolutely NUTS if he didn't work. (I hope I'm not bragging too much here but I'm so excited. I grew up dirt poor - free lunches at school, etc. - and had several financial problems when I first got out of college due to low paying jobs. I'm just glad to be able to put that all behind me).

Max has a cold - snot nose, hacking cough, and low-grade fever. He was a little snuggle bug last night, which I loved! I even slept ALL night in my recliner without waking up so I'm more awake today.

GREAT NEWS - I got Rebecca and Rita's photos last night! They go to Sarah and Moriah (plus Rebecca's have to go through Rita) and then they'll be returned - an entire year after they were sent out! I'll get them out in the mail to Sarah tomorrow!

HELEN: You look so glamerous in your picture! You have a very attractive family - thanks so much for the photos. I also love the toe jam one - such concentration!

CHRISTIE: As I said before my new salary is ridiculous ... but I'm not telling the "powers that be" that - LOL!

RITA: Best of luck at your interview!

SarahW: I was planning to wean after surgery (postponed it to avoid weaning while I wasn't able to pick him up to minimize his trauma). He was only nursing a few minutes at bedtime - just for comfort - but still nursed 15+ minutes in the morning. I'm not going to try to retain my supply as weaning was in the works anyway - don't want to reintroduce it just so I can take it away again.

CRYSTAL: Congrats!!!!! I'm so excited for you (and also a little jealous - I'm still not feeling up to TTC yet).

WILL: Daycares generally won't bite or do other "punishments". I would ask that they give a sticker for each morning and each afternoon that your child doesn't bite anyone. After so many stickers (probably 2-4 at such a young age) either the daycare or you can give a "reward" for good behavior. Also, I would consistently say "no biting" each time biting is observed with a 30+ second timeout.

JENNIFER: I hope you can get Christmas Eve off. Family traditions are sooo important ... esp. once you have children.

KAHNE: I'm glad the diet is going well. You make me feel so old - I'll be 33 tomorrow.

SHELLY: Yeah on Jesse changing classes! Sweet of you to adopt the cat. Riley's "beep beep" is TOO funny - LOL! Enjoy your visit with Moriah and Alex. If I remember right you haven't seen Alex since right after he was born, have you?

BIRDIE: What a cow - "big cart". I would have either slugged her, cussed at her or made some smart ass remark, or started crying (or with my AF and weaning hormones raging right now - all 3 at once!).

PATTY: Weaning sucks. I was really engorged Friday and had to pump 4 ounces but have been fine since. I'm doing ok with it until Max fusses, like he did Sunday night. Plus, he would take a lot out of his cup during his normal "nursing" times so I worry that he'll get dehydrated (I know - he's 24 lb and a brute so I don't need to worry but I've always been a worry wart).

JULIANNE: How cute, Colton kissing Pooh!

STACEY: Welcome back and big congrats on little Alexa! The sitter got 2 new babies over the past year. At the time Max and his buddy Matthew were around 12 and 20 months. She lets the toddlers by the babies but they are only allowed to touch their hands and feet. If they touch their head, etc. she gently removes their hands and says "hands and feet only". After a few weeks they learned!

I was noticing the other day that I don't really post a whole lot about Cody? Has anyone else noticed that.

I think it's just coz I have Jasmine and Cam too, and I'm pregnant so there is SOOOOOOO much going on around here.

He really is the lite of my life though.

Last night DH and I went out and left the two older kids and took Cody with us.

We went to Boston Pizza and Cody had the entire section of our restarant in stitches. He was being so silly I just couldn't believe it.

You know the song "Head, shoulders, knees and toes?"

Well, he sings the "Head" part. Only, of course he can't say "head" so he says "doo" perfectly on tune with my lead. And he grabs his head, but instead of just lifting his hands off his head when he is done, he slides them down until his face is all scrunched up and his eyelids are sagging and his cheeks are all pushed together.

Well, I can't really descibe his little antics. But my DH was laughing so hard he couldn't breath.

I have never seen a man so in love with his baby. My dad was never like that and no one else close to me was either so I feel really lucky and glad for my kids that they will grow up with affection and attention.

Anyway, DH wants to give Cody an ENTIRE chocolate cake to himself for his birthday.

I think he would do just fine with like, a cupcake or something, but DH insists it has to be an entire cake.

Well, whatever he wants. It will be funny though.

We are having his B party at DH's parents house so his mom will probably have a heart attack. His parents are 75 years old.

Anyway, enough rambling. Gotto run and I will try hard to get to some personals tonight.

I am not really sure what to expect from the interview today. I bid on the job mainly because it is closer to home, so I am kind of ambivalent about it. DH would love to have me put less miles on the Explorer and not to be on-call for Y2K. I'd have some major thinking to do if I were offered the position.

Amanda - Hello stranger! Glad to hear that Sloane is healthy and happy.

Julianne - We started with the booster seat at sixteen to seventeen months. We have the Safety First brand that folds up. Maddy still uses it.

Crystal - Congratulations! It's a little crazy with two in diapers at the same time, but I am sure that you will have the energy to do it well.

Stacey - Hello again to you. That's a tough issue. Maddy was old enough that we didn't have the problem with hitting the baby. (She only takes things away from Amy now). Does she need some more one-on-one attention from you? I find that Maddy really acts up when she wants our attention. Does Franchesca "help" to care for Alexa? You may also want to make sure that Franchesca sees you comfort the baby after she has been hit, so that Franchesca can see that hitting has an effect on others.

LuCynda - Happy Birthday to Cody tomorrow! Has it really been a year? He sounds like such a little ham.

Lisa B - Happy Birthday to you tomorrow. We seem to have lots of November BDs around here. The new job sounds great, especially since it will enable you to become a SAHM. Nice to hear that the pictures have not been lost, after all. What an interesting journey they must have made.

Hi all! Allison and I stayed home together yesterday. We were both feeling a bit under the weather and I decided that a day of rest was in order for both of us so we stayed home and played together all day. It was very nice! Okay, I am a little miffed right now! When I was hired to this job I was told that after a year I would receive a �promotion� to a programmer 2 which is about a $300/month raise ($3600/year) automatically as long as I got good evaluations etc (both have been excellent). Anyway, my year was up at the beginning of Oct. and I have yet to see my raise. When my boss was asked she said that due to the fact that they are hiring so many new people right now they are having budget problems etc and that they are waiting to submit my papers on a day when the big boss is in a good mood. That could be decades!!! Well, the lady that was hired just 6 weeks before me got her raise approved as well as the guy that was hired 6 weeks before her. DH told me to file a grievance if it doesn�t go through since the others have the same experience, etc as me and got theirs he said that they really can�t deny mine since I�ve gotten good evaluations (I work for state gov�t not private industry so it works a little different). My boss is hoping it will go through and that they will be able to make it retroactive back to the year date so that I will get all my money anyway, but I�m bummed because I was hoping it would take effect and I would have some extra money for Christmas. Okay, enough complaining. Onto the personals

Will � I think time-outs would work well for biting. We put Allison in another room in her playpen and leave her for about 45 secs or so. It wasn�t automatic, but after just a couple of days she got the picture and the hitting stopped.

Cathy G � Allison wasn�t really too still for her haircut and it isn�t too even, but I did it while she was in the bathtub so her hair was wet and she was preoccupied with something else. It worked well enough.

Shelly � have fun on your visit to Moriah�s! It will be so nice for you to finally get to see Alex!

Birdie � I can�t believe your MIL�s comment about the �Big cart� how rude of her!

I e-mailed her and told her they were on the way and asked her to e-mail me when she received them and I have never heard from her. I will e-mail her and let you guys know if I hear anything about their whereabouts. Believe it or not, I got my pictures back a couple of months ago. My phone rang this morning (waking me from a nap). It was a friend of mine asking if she could come over this afternoon. She's thinking of going back to work and wants to know if I'd be willing to do some daycare for her part time. I don't know how I feel. I told her to come over and we'd talk (I was still asleep!). The money would be nice, but this little boy has never really been away from his mom and is a crier. Do I really need the added stress when I'm fighting to get over the PPD? And how much is reasonable to ask for? I don't know what to do! Help!

Hi mommies. Jarin seems to be ok today, although every once in a while he just starts crying. Surely he can't have another ear infection this soon after tubes - especially since they have us putting antibiotic drops in his ears 3X a day. He is still being my little cuddle bug. LOVE IT!
**Amanda: Haven't seen Joy or Tonya around in a while. Every once in a while, they pop in. Jarin has one Veggie Tale video (Silly Songs) but so far he isn't too into it. I think they are adorable though.
**Julianne: Jarin tells his bath water bye-bye too. He sits in a booster chair at my mom's when we eat there and does ok. I suppose when Colton's ready for one, it's ok to switch.

**Rebecca: Here's my 2 cents on the daycare thing. I agreed to watch my sister's son after Kdg every day. He is the same age as my son and thought it would be ok. WRONG! By the end of the year I really resented her and her son. All Jesse and he did was fight and I missed my time alone with my son. Of course I only got paid$20 and then only half the time, but I don't think it would've been worth it even for more money. Others may disagree, but there's what i think - especially when you're still fighting PPD. That's hard enough without ANY added stress.
**I just got done IM Mimii. She says to keep praying for her. She and Jimmy are still not really getting anywhere and she wants him to come home. She says to tell all of you hi and she misses everyone.

Shane is finally over his diarreah and rash but it took all weekend and meanwhile he has acquired a taste for grape pedialyte. He was up all last night but I think that was a teething problem. I am just gratefull that for most of his life he has been healthy so a few nights of teething I will take.
Thanks to everyone for the thoughts on the rash. I do dilute his apple juice with water and try to make it mostly water. I put tons of vaseline on his little behind and that seemed to really help with the rash.
Also thanks for the snack ideas. Shane loves cheerios and saltines but thats not exactly a balanced snack.
LisaB&Patty - Glad the surgeries went well.

Rebecca - My 2 cents is that it's not a good idea for friends to watch friends kids as a daycare solution. It seems that it's real easy to take advantage of showing up late and any problems you might have with the little one could come between you two.

For those of you we haven't met, my name is Darleen, I'm 29 and holding forever haha, (sahm), my husband of 5 years is 32, and we have 1 child Nolan who is just 1 a week ago. He is the love light in our eyes. I would get pregnant tomorrow if I knew I could conceive a girl for sure. I want the millionaire family if possible, and that would put an end to the children. We are hoping to get pregnant next summer. I would like them 21/2 -3 years apart.
Nolan is a really good boy, and we think of him as very intelligent! Modest parents! LOL!

Hi to everybody! I just got home from a parent-teacher conf. with the teacher I took Jess away from. Boy, was that odd. She kept telling me things she wished she had done. I felt ill at ease and guilty. But then, she also kept referring to the fact that she relies on the other 1st grade Teacher to help her with ideas. Big Warning sign! If a teacher can't figure those things out on her own?... I don't know. But I am confident that I did the right thing. It's pouring down rain here today. Riley and I walked over to the school under a huge umberella and he loved it. I took Riley shopping today, he wanted everything we looked at. So , of course, I had to hear him cry when we walked away from the toys. He calls himself MeMe now. Anyway, I'de better get on to personals and then eat some dinner.

I guess I won't be going to Mo's. My Mom called today to say there are more complications. Maybe a blood clot in the lungs or phemonia. So it will be awhile until they can come home. Hi everyone, Charline & Hayden here for the BT board. I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Hayden. His CT scan went well. They only had to sedate him a little because it was already past his naptime and he was tired. They let us go in with him and it only lasted 5 minutes. The dr. talked to us afterward and said that none of Hayden's sultures have closed in his skull and that his head and brain look fine. We are so relieved!

Hello from Julianne here in romper room! A couple of the people I work with decorated an office plant w/ Christmas lights and tinsel and put a couple of presents under it for the little girl who has been coming to work w/ her dad all week. The play-do factory is up and running!

Last night I realized that about half of Colton's books are missing. He has been stuffing them under the couch and love seat. Unfortunatley both are very low to the ground and we can't tell if anything is under there without lifting them. He has been one busy little beaver these past few days hiding all those books!

Stacey: Welcome back. Yeah for getting a computer at home and DH being able to work from home and take care of the kids too. Hope Franchesca adjusts to Alexa soon and only gives her kisses and nice touches. Good luck adjusting to work again.

Yesterday AM i put in my contacts and all day was intending to take them out and rinse them off-- things were a little blurry and figured there was make-up on them or something-- well went to bed and still never made it upstairs all day to re-rinse them and when I went to bed and was taking them out---lo and behold,I discovered I went all day with only one in!!!! Who knows where the other one went????Wow- I thinkI'm losing it at times!!

Good Morning Mom's & Babe's
It is a beautiful day here in Ontario. Yesterday we had a full snowsuit on Nolan, and today he is back to a coat and hat! Weird weather we are having!
Nolan is cutting 4 teeth,2 beside his 2 front teeth, and the 2 beside his bottom front teeth. He slept all night last night, but the week-end was rough. Hope fully he is over teething for this week.
We went to play group this morning he loves playing with the little girls, they are always hugging and kissing him. He tries to push them away, but they keep coming back for more. Typical boy! There are more girls then boys.
I am taking Nolan this afternoon to get his pictures done for his 1st birthday. I went shopping to look for something dressy for him, and they have absolutely nothing out there for little boys that I could find in the price range I was willing to pay. I am envious of people who have little girls. I love Nolan to death, but sometimes it would be easier clothing wise if he was a girl.
He is starting to talk ex(mommy, daddy, animal noises,) I can hardly wait for more words to come.
For those of you that live in the Detroit surrounding area, have you heard of the kids mall they have some place in the states? If you have can somebody let me know where it is, and how to get there, I would love to go and check it out. We go cross boarder shopping a couple times a year, but we haven't found this mall yet. We looked for it in the summer and couldn't find it. Maybe we will be lucky and they will advertise on the T.V. for Christmas.
We like the Oakland Mall, and Ponderosa(there isn't any in Canada anymore).

BETH: I also work for the State so I know how it goes. If you talk to the "big boss" much, I would casually mention that you were promised a promotion and raise after a year, it's been a year, and both of your evaluations were excellent ... and that you were wondering when the promotion might go through. If that doesn't get action I would then address the issue with personnel. If that doesn't work, then file a grievance. If anyone who started after you gets promoted or a raise you'll have a really good case for discrimination (esp. if they are male - can state you were passed over as you are a female). It sounds like your boss is like several people I work with - just doesn't have the guts or motivation to sumbit the paperwork (even if they deny the promotion due to funding issues they can at least start the paperwork so you'll be the next to get promoted once $ is available). Best of luck!

REBECCA: I would explain to your friend that you have PPD and that if you babysit you want to only do it parttime on a trial basis (maybe a week or so) ... and that you will then decide if you WANT to sit for her before you make a big commitment. If it doesn't seem to work out say "thanks, but no thanks". As far as pricing - call daycares, sitters advertised in the paper, etc. in your area to see what they charge. The boy might cry at first but then again he might adjust really quick. I know Patty's little Jarin didn't stay with a sitter until he was about a year old but he seemed to adjust fairly quickly. Follow your gut feelings on this one.

HELEN: My mom got pregnant 4 times while on the pill. They wanted kids, just weren't TTC when they got pregnant (yep, 4 "oops"!). Of course if you never got pregnant on them in the past the chance of that happening now is slim. I agree also that I couldn't deceive my DH. I KNOW how much time, work, and $ a baby requires and I don't want to have another baby unless my DH is also 100% sure he wants another one so I'll have that support there.

SHELLY: Riley and "me-me" is so cute. He sounds like a little doll! I would love to see pictures sometime.

DARLEEN: Nolan is a little ladies man, isn't he?! Watch out - the girls will be attacking him the rest of his life! The 21 month old at daycare (Matthew) and Max have ALWAYS been big buddies. The last week or so Matthew has been driving Max nuts - hugging him all day and kissing his forehead. Max tolerates it the first few times and then he starts physically pushing Matthew away. It's so funny to watch!

Quick question for Birdie and anyone else who can help - A coworker and good friend is 25 weeks pregnant. She just found out the baby is transverse breach. The baby has to move by 32 weeks or she'll have to have a c-section. She's really openning for a vaginal birth. The doctor told her to bend down on her knees for 10 minutes a day, resting her weight on her elbows, with her head on the floor, and 3 pillows under her belly to try to get the baby to move. Any other suggestions or ideas? I remember Birdie tried several things without any success but Dawn is willing to accept any and all suggestions at this point. Thanks in advance!

WOW!! You moms really keep this board hopping, huh? So biting back and timeouts seem to be the 2 favorites. I was reading Dr. Brazelton's book, Touchpoints, and his advice was basically to hook Liam (what are the odds, Katy?) up with another biter. Then he would know it hurt. We've (my wife and I) gotten real religious about time-outs every time he tries to bite one of us at home. I pick him up, carry him to his room, explaining that biting is bad and this is for biting, stand him up in his crib, leave the lights on and close his door for 5 minutes. Had to do it 2x last night. I'll also talk to his day-care, and see if we can work out some sort of a no biting reward system. Thanks for all your responses!

Hi! Wow, I miss one day and I don't think I'll ever catch up! I have a question for everybody. The other night, my DH and I had a mini-argument about something. The topic was that I don't include him in things that have to do with Adam. It all started when my mom said she and my dad were going to take Adam with them to the lake this Friday (while they are baby-sitting and we are working ) because they are having some light show on the water. I told him and he got all defensive and said "I wish someone would ask me first about these things! They are not going to just 'take' him without asking....you and your mom do that all the time!" I told him that since they have to babysit him while we work, and if they are wanting to go somewhere, they have to take Adam with them. He said he really didn't care about this, but was mad that when I took him to get his hair cut (his first haircut) I did it on a day my DH was working so he didn't go. He said I didn't even want to include him in this "milestone" of Adam's life and that he hardly gets to see him as it is. I did ask him that day if it was ok for me to get his hair cut and my DH said yes. that day he could've said, "no, I'd rather you wait until I can go too" but he didn't. I try to explain to my DH that I do everything with Adam because I am home with him in the day...every day. if I need to do something or go somewhere, he goes with me. am I being unreasonable? Am I shutting him out? What are your opinions on this? i feel bad, but then again, I don't really think I did anything on purpose to exclude my DH. Well, now let's see if I can catch up on personals:

Kelli- Your Elizabeth sounds like quite a character. Maybe we should set her up with my son....hahaha. AF is driving me nuts....it is extremely heavy, guess because of the D&C 8 weeks ago. Now I remember why Iloved being pg!

Julianne- Adam just loves "The Best of Elmo", "Bear in the Big Blue House", and "Elmopalooza". We watch those a number of times EVERY DAY. He's a really musical kid, he loves to dance and get "in the beat". They are great videos.

LisaB- Hope you get to feeling better real soon!!

Darleen- Send some of that cold weather our way here in TX!! Its been in the upper 80's all month so far! Ugh!

Adam did do something rather funny last night. He was giving his daddy his nite-nite kisses and latched on to my DH's lip with his teeth and wouldn't let go! It was so funny watching DH trying to get his lip back. Guess I shouldn't have laughed, but I couldn't help it! :) Well, guess what? I put in for a vacation day for Xmas Eve and they gave it to me!! Julianne here w/ a quick prayer request: My DH just called me to tell me that his friend's sister had her baby this morning 3 weeks early. The baby has major troubles. It was born without wether kidney and the windpipe is not attached. They have decided to take it off life-support this afternoon. She hid her 1st pg and her family did not know until the baby was born--no prenatal care! She is married now and this was their 2nd child. Everyone was so excited and then this happened. Thanks.

Hey all

If any of you are wondering why I have only gotten one person's pictures up on the web site I will explain to you how time consuming it is so you will not feel like I am putting it off.

Besides my everyday life - two kids in school and Cody at home and a house I'm trying to get clean after spending three months sicker than a dog. . .

I have the cyber tots web site and a Mom's in May web site I design.

It is hard work and takes every waking minute to keep up on it all.

I have about 20 something pictures right now to put up on cyber tots.

I am working on them in the order they were sent to me.

I have to optimize the photos for the web, plus design the web page, plus create all the additional graphics.

Designing the web page isn't as easy as creating a document in word perfect or something like that.

I have to create the links, and script everything.

It is a lot of work. I create all the graphics myself and that takes a lot of time as well.

Then when it is all done, I have to upload it all to the server and then edit and fine tune anything that got messed up somehow.

So PLEASE PLEASE bear with me.

There is nothing I love to do more than work on my computer but I can only work so fast.

Thanks for the understanding and the weekend will be quicker as DH works nights and I have nothing else to do.

I WILL get some more up today. I promise.

Hi, it's Birdie. Just a quick note as my munchkin is awake and calling. I was planning to do a big brag session but i'll try to keep it brief. Please move on to next paragraph if you are opposed to bragging. Noah now plays peek a boo all the time, blows kisses, does the entire patty cake (even the roll it part) waves bye bye, says "hi, doggy, kitty, mama, dada, pooh and sort of says bubbles" walks like a pro and dances on command. Okay, I've been holding all of that in for so long but now that we all know bragging is allowed and encouraged I felt I could spill it. Thank you.

He still isn't using a sippy cup though.

Next week is going to be crazy. 12 babies for noah's baby b-day party which is at Gymboree on Tuesday and 39 people for his actual B-day which is on thanksgiving day and dinner is included. Am I nuts or what? I figured, hey, you only have your first b-day once. It should be a lot of fun and i actually love doing this type of thing. (Like Moriah) I'm just worried about my back being a problem during all of the cooking and decorating. Luckily the Gymboree people clean up after that party. Yahoo!!

Amanda- Please stay with us. I've missed you. I have also heard that about potty training. We'll see.

LisaB- Glad surgery is over and went well. I would love to talk with your friend. I have handouts on tons of ways to turn a breach baby. Mine didn't work because he was big and fluid was low. Does she have an e-mail address or should I just post them all here? As far as grandma goes i pretty much just laugh now. Poor Dillon. Glad it's not meningitis. Thanks for the update.

Will- Very cool to have you here. I personally don't think I could ever bite Noah but I've heard a lot of people say it works. Sorry I don't have any advice for you. Just wanted to welcome you aboard.

Help! I'm having problem with Dakota my dear 2. She is a climber and VERY strong minded. We have always had a difficult time with her regarding nap or sleep time, but for the last two months it has gotten progressively worse. I am at my wits end. We have tried almost everything including trying to let her tucker herself out, but she doesn't seem to tire (LOL) What seems to be working for the moment is if one of us lays down with her and throw our legs over hers to keep her still enough to calm down. Even doing that though, it still takes a minimum of an hour for her to nod off. Obviously this is not how we want to continue. Any suggestions?

P.s. Our first two kids would go down without complaint, but that was long ago (they're 16 & ( now)

Helen: Everything is okay. I've just been real tired after working 10+ hours aday. That's why I don't post as much. That and the fact that DH likes to spend an hour or two on the computer after he gets home from work.

Darrel's still not walking very much.

Dh asked me last night if I was PG, and he was upset that I am. It's not because he doesn't want another child. It's just because we are having problems financially and are trying to get back on our feet. He's just scared that we won't have what we need. And he's worried about how we're going to pay my dr. bills. I'm getting that part taken care of and am signing up for medicaid.

Hi mommies. I had to take Jarin to the Dr. again today! He is still running a low grade fever, so they wanted to do a urinalysis, since his ears and throat are ok. We had to tape a bag to him and then I dropped it off at the hospital lab tonight. I guess we find out tomorrow what it shows. She thought it could just be a sinus infection, but wanted to rule out urinary tract infection. Otherwise, he is ok. Was up at 5 this morning, so I got a big 5 hours of sleep last night. UGH! I am a person who definitely needs her sleep!

Hello to all!! It is so cold here in North CA, there is snow on all the surrounding mountains. Riley is loving the rain. I need to get him little rain boots so that he can stomp in the puddles. The little goofus, he follows me around the house mimicing me. He is now saying Iley (riley), juice, last night he brought me his cup and said dink. If I say woohoo, he says hoohoo in the cutest little voice. Just in the last week he's really started talking. I know a lot of your babies are saying more, but I guess because Riley is 3rd in the order, he is slower to talk. Maybe his bros talk too much and he doesn't get a chance. Who knows! But I am so excited everytime he says something new. OOPS, I bragged!!!LOL Right now, Jesse and Riley are running around screaming and wrestling. I have a headache. I started today and this time I have cramps. I haven't had any in months. Good thing my neph is selling See's Candy bars. I really need one tonight! I bought the one with toffee chips. Don't tell Kanhe. I told her I needed to lose weight too. SHHHH!!

LisaB** I worked with a friend whose baby was breach. The dr. said C-section for sure. But Tara went into labor and her baby turned, she had a vaginal delivery. So if all the other suggestions don't work tell her not to give up. The baby might just turn in labor.

Helen**I would never encourage deceiving the hubby. I just was joking. I have missed up to 5 days of pills before and never got preggers either. I have a friend who goes off them one month and the next month she's preggers. She swears that Grant just has to look at her and she gets preggers.LOL

Riley is fresh out of the bathtub, so I better get clothes on him. Did I mention that he went poop on his potty the other day? I was so proud of him. I didn't push him, I swear! He probably won't do it again for awhile but at least he knows what to do.

Of course, we do have Cody's birthday party with his grandparents tomarrow night so if you don't see any pages other than the ones I mentioned above then know that I AM working on them but didn't have time to publish them. That takes the longest.

Good morning everyone! SARAH here. Well, I didn't get a chance to post last night, so...here I am! :)
Anyway, it was a long weekend!!! Friday, HANNAH was acting crabby. Not her usual self. I thought she was getting a tooth or something. We went to my mom's house for dinner Friday night, and HANNAH ended up throwing up a couple of times over there (first time she's thrown up since she was 5 months old). She came down with a high fever too. She was also acting VERY lethargic!! So, we left. We got home, and as soon as I got her out of the car and in the house, she threw up again. Well, needless to say it was a long night. She ended up throwing up 2 more time throughout the night. She couldn't keep ANYTHING on her little tummy. I felt just awful for her. On Saturday morning she threw up again. Then I had to babysit my nephews all day. They ended up coming to my house cause DH was sick too. Anyway, I ended up taking her to Children's Medical Center about 5:30 Saturday night. We were there till 9:00!!! argh! I just wanted her checked out to make sure she wasn't dehydrated! Everything turned out okay at the Center, and Sunday she started to take a turn for the better, but I got sick and stayed home Monday and Tuesday. I was feeling better yesterday, but my sore throat is back today!!! :( :(

REBECCA - I'm glad PAIGE enjoyed her card and party!!! My mom and dad gave HANNAH a savings bond last Christmas. They add money each Christmas for all of the grandchildren. Great idea!

JENNIFER - HANNAH throws major tantrums too. She's the #1 "drama queen"!!!! On ER, I think Dr. Benton thought it was his kid, then what's her face told him it may not be, so he took a DNA test and ended up throwing it away, cause in his heart and mind he is the daddy! Yes, I knew he was deaf.

HELEN - ADORABLE pictures!!! Thanks for the compliments on HANNAH!!

BETH - I caught DH cutting HANNAH's hair on Sunday. At first I was mad, but he has a right. Sometimes I act as if HANNAH was mine and ONLY mine! oops! :) He just cut her bangs. I had to even them up a little, but they look adorable!

BIRDIE - Terrible about your ex! Sounds like the meeting went well. I wish I could meet some of you!!

LUCYNDA - I'm glad you found your dog! How was CODY's b-day?

DEBBIE - Cute story about MADDIE dragging EMILEE.

PATTY - I'm glad the surgery was successful!! Sorry he's sick again! Man, I hope he gets healthy soon!!! HANNAH waves bye-bye to the Teletubbies, too. Yes, HANNAH is a daddy's girl. But....when it comes down to it, she always wants her momma the most!!! :) :) Hey, when are we gonna be on OPRAH?!?!?!

SHELLY - I tried sending you pictures of HANNAH. Did you get them?

LISA - WOW...surgery, weaning, new job, bleeding...busy woman!!! :) You had 39 emails? I missed Monday and Tuesday and had 106 emails. YUCK!!! Thanks for the info on TRACEY. I'll let you know when I get the pictures.

AMANDA and SLOANE - SOOOO good to hear from you!! I think of you guys alot!! Remember, I'm the one who lives in Denver? JOY and TONYA posted a couple of months ago (after not hearing from them in ages) and that was it. :(

SARAH W. - Despite everything else, babysitting was alot of fun Saturday. Thanks for asking!

CRYSTAL - Congrats!!!!!!

WILL - I have a "biter" too. I just tap her on the mouth and say "no" and then set her down and walk away. I wouldn't suggest putting him/her (can't remember...sorry) in the crib for time out. They'll start to think the crib is a "bad" place.

I had to rush home and give Colton lots of hugs and kisses yesterday. It really got to me about our friends baby.

I found out more about the baby from my Dh when I got home last night. The baby has 1 kidney, but the doctors said it didn't work and the airtube from his lungs to his throat is missing. They signed a Do Not Res. order and unhooked the machines except for the oxygen tube to his nose. He is a fighter and was still hanging on last night. His kidney is working some. Thanks for your prayers.

Shelly: Hello to "me-me"--how cute.

Helen: My eyes are so bad that when I drop one of my contacts I go into a full blown panic and am seen with my face a couple of inches from the floor looking for it!!

Darleen: Cute, Nolan's a little chick-magnet. Isn't your DH proud. LOL I agree w/ you about finding cute boy clothes. They are harder to find.

Jennifer: Yeah for getting x-mas eve off. Make sure to let your DH know what you want to do and see if he wants to be involved w/ the plans so that he does not feel so left out when it comes to Adam.

Birdie: Way to go Noah!!! What fun b-day plans. It sounds like lots of work, but I agree, it is fun to go all out on b-day #1.

Tami: Welcome. Try putting Dakota in her crib or bed and shutting the door. Tell her that it is quiet time and leave her be for an hour or so w/ a few toys. At least establish a routine that you stick to and maybe she will resume nap time. Good luck.

Crystal: Sorry to hear Darrel is not feeling well. Hope your DH lets you on the computer more often too!

Patty: Wasn't it fun trying to get the bag on right and then getting Jarin to pee in it? Colton had an UTI when he was just a few weeks old and I went through 2 bags and got more pee on me than in the bag!! It looked so easy when they showed me how to do it.

Hi from LisaB. I found out yesterday that I have to go to training on Dec. 1-3. It's in Dallas/Fort Worth so I'll be gone 2 nights and will get home the last night after Max goes to bed. I've NEVER been away from him overnight. I know it'll be hard - for Max but esp. for me. At least I'm going with my new boss. He has 2 boys plus a DD younger than Max so he SHOULD understand if I get all hormonal and emotional! This will be the first time DH has had Max by himself overnight. I hink it'll be a real eye-openner for him seeing what my life is like when he's always out on the road for work. Also, I haven't flown since I was 4 months pregnant. There have been so many plane crashes lately (including a business plane in the town I work in where a lady with a 9-month old was killed) that I'm 1/2 scared to even get on the plane - I've never had this fear before. I guess parenthood changes us more than we anticipate, doesn't it?

JULIANNE: Thanks for the e-card! I'm so sorry to hear about that poor baby. I guess they can't fix the problems with surgery?

JENNIFER: DH may just be jealous that you spend more time with Adam than he does. I know my DH was like that some when I was on maternity leave. I found it helped when I turned over more of the care (feedings, baths, etc.) over to him and also when I would try to be "unavailable" for a couple of hours on the weekend - on the phone, running errands, etc. - so he and Max had bonding time. I think it's important to include DH on the big decisions but it's unrealistic for you to call him 10+ times a day to get his OK before you make day-to-day decisions. Too funny about Adam biting DH's lip!!! Also, I'm so glad you got Christmas Eve off!

LuCYNDIA: Honey, don't worry about the page. You have young kids, are pregnant, etc. We all appreciate your efforts and know that it'll take time. We'll just excited that we'll be able to see all the little tots soon! Happy birthday a little late to Cody!!!!!

SARAH: I'm sorry to hear you and Hannah were so sick. 106 e-mails? I guess you're more popular than me!!!!!!

CRYSTAL: I'm glad you're getting on Medicaid. Prenatal care is so important - Max and I niether one would have survived my awful pregnancy without it. You told us you were pregnant but not DH? You didn't tell him until he asked? I know you said he wanted you to wait to test and had financial-related concerns but I think you 2 really need to improve your communications. I don't mean to be critical or anything but it'll be stressful working, having a toddler, and being pregnant and I really think you need to feel like you can share your joys, concerns, etc. with Doug.

SHELLY: Riley talks so much! Max has started making several new sounds this week. He says them over and over and wants me to repeat them. I've searched my brain trying to make them into actual words but am beginning to think it's just more babbling - LOL! Hey, if Riley wants to use the potty LET HIM!!! Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll wean himself!

Good morning from Helen&Amanda!!

As usual- nothing exciting going on here.

Oh yes-- DH got home safely on Tues night with t-shirts and sweatshirts for us all. They had fun, rented 'harley's' and went to some boat races.

Amanda has a runny nose and had diarrhea a couple days ago- seems to be going away-- BIRDIE-- Hope NOAH didn't get anything from Amanda the other day!! Sorry if he did!

BIRDIE-- Wow, quite the party you have planned-have fun!!

SARAH&HANNAH-- Hope Hannah is feeling better and it was nothing serious!!

SHELLY- No-- I was not offended by your 'oops'!! I guess a lot of us have toobig of a conscience to do that.:O)

SARAH- Thanks for the response, and I've worried about the crib thing, too. I guess we'll set up his playpen/portacrib in there, or explore other options. I think he's hitting the terrible twos early.

One quick question- Could someone please explain 'DH' to a newbie? I'm guessing its a notation for dad/husband, but I'm not sure. Also, is there an MW equivalent? Just curious.

I did the same thing--setting up the playpen--so that my son Colton would not think his crib was a place for punishment. It is working good so far. We just started using it about 2 weeks ago.

Jennifer � I agree with whoever it was that said your DH could possibly be jealous that he doesn�t get to spend as much time with him. Just try to make him feel involved as much as possible.

Julianne again. So sorry to be posting about such sad news lately. I just got off the phone w/ my DH and found out that our friend's baby died this afternoon. Thanks so much for all your concern and prayers. I don't know why this has hit me so hard. I haven't cried this much about something in a long time. Make sure to give your babies extra hugs tonight.

Okay, I’m finally caught up!!! I was off yesterday because Alex was sick, so that put me even farther behind…

We’ve had a tough run of things lately. I’m finally better from the pneumonia, but am still fighting morning sickness (at 14 weeks it better be over soon!!!). Dh put his back out on Saturday moving some wood, and was flat on his back in bed until last night. So I had to babysit him as well as Alex… On Tuesday, my babysitter called to say that Alex was running a high fever (103 under the arm), and was very lethargic. He was fine when I dropped him off, but had had a bit of a restless night. So I left work at noon, and met her at our doctor’s. The doc couldn’t find anything wrong other than the fever, so said to use Baby Tylenol, and keep an eye out for other symptoms. Alex slept lots that night, but was very feverish, I had to keep giving him the Tylenol. He was really cranky on Wednesday (I stayed home because dh still couldn’t move enough to take care of him). He ate very little, and cried…. Finally by the evening he seemed to be in a bit of a better mood and the fever was down. I had to come in to work today because I’ve been off so much lately, but hopefully things are going well at daycare. Dh went back to work today, and while he’s moving slowly, and standing crooked, he’s feeling better. Hopefully we’ll all get better and stay better!!!

Rebecca: Rates range from $25 –35 in Maple Ridge, to up to $50/day downtown. I’m currently paying $150/week for daycare, where the mother is unlicensed, and has no other children besides her son and Alex. I paid her $35/day when Alex was part-time. I would suggest trying it out for an afternoon, or the occasional full day to see how it goes. If the child already knows you, it might be easier. Alex was a real whiner, and it must have been very hard for Mary at first, but in the last couple of months, he’s really developed a sense of humour, and plays well with Taylor. She says its lots of fun now! Good luck deciding. Mary and I have been friends since pregnancy, and I believe it makes for a better daycare relationship. I can talk to her about how things are going, and we can work things out together.

Julianne: Alex likes to drop his books behind the couch – I have to pull it away from the wall and retrieve them when he starts to run out. So sorry to hear about your friend’s baby – every mother’s worse nightmare. Best wishes to them.

Darlene: Hope you find a nice outfit for Nolan, I agree, its really tough to find nice looking dress clothes at reasonable prices. I need to start shopping soon for Alex’s Christmas outfit.

Jennifer: Its tough when they feel left out, but you are at home all day, so by default you’ll be spending more time with Adam, and doing more things with him. I don’t think you did anything wrong with the haircut, you asked him and he said okay… But in the future, maybe you could try to plan special things for the evenings and weekends, so your dh really feels involved. Or plan something on your own, leaving dh alone with Adam (or encourage him to plan a guys day out). Good luck, hope you work it out!

LuCynda: TAKE YOUR TIME!!! The web page is fantastic, but it must be a huge amount of work, so don’t stress over it. Just add a page every once in a while as you get the chance, I wish I could help, but I know nothing about web page design.

Patty: Hope everything is okay with Jarin, its really tough when they’re sick and can’t tell us what hurts.

Sarah: Hope you and Hannah are both feeling better. I know how stressful it is when
they’re miserable.

LisaB: I was away from Alex for two nights in August. It was tough, but I brought lots of photos with me, and the sleeper he’d worn the night before I left. I cuddled with that all night (Alex was sleeping with us, so I was used to cuddling him). I don’t think he even noticed that I was gone, and dh did a great job on his own!

Well, Paige has been quite sick the last few days. The night before last she was awake with a fever so I got no sleep and therefore I'm sick now. I feel so sorry for her, since I now know how she must be feeling! Her fever has dropped and just wants to sleep (I'm not complaining). DH has today off which is making life so much easier!

I want to thank all of you for your opinions on the daycare situation. My friend is coming over in a few minutes and I'm going to talk to her. The money would be nice, but I am worried about coping.

LuCynda - the page is wonderful! I can't express enough appreciation and thanks. You are truly a super mom!

SarahW - If I do the daycare thing I'm going to ask for $30 a day. As long as it stays part-time, I think I might be able to do it.

Shelley - PPD can occur anytime in the first 3 years and can hit at different levels of intensity. I'm sure that I was suffering for a long time before it actually surfaced. I'm lucky that I was able to find a support group. Every day is a challenge.

Crystal here. I took this afternoon off to spend time with Darrel. A friend watched him this morning because of his fever. He still has a slight fever, but he's acting normal, so I'm not worried.

It's not that we haven't kept the communication lines open. Dh made it very clear that he didn't want to know. He agreed that I can find out if I don't tell him until he asks. I knew he'd ask once I found out. I was just respecting his wishes. I told you guys first because I had to tell some one. I wasn't trying to hide it from him. He new that once I found out, I'd tell him when he asked. In fact, he was the first to know that there was the possibility of me being pregnant.

Well, Darrel's walking a lot more now. He's almost a full time walker, finally. He'll be 15 months on Tuesday. I'm right around 5 or 6 weeks pregnant. Darrel will be 23 months when this baby is born.

Oh, and I found out today that one of my friends is also pregnant again. Her baby is due about the same time as mine. She has a 12 month old daughter. Another friend thinks she's pregnant even though she keeps getting -, even on the blood test. I have a friend who just had her baby and two who are due in January. Another one is about 2 1/2 to 3 months pregnant with her second child. We are all on our second babies, except for one of my friends due in January. This is her first pregnancy, and she's having twins. There's got to be something in this Texas water. LisaB, maybe you should drink some of it while you're here. LOL Speaking of which, you'll be right by me and Jennifer.

Hi all! Riley and I wen to water aerobics this morning. The water was kinda cold, so I had to get out a little early. Riley has been quite the little boy today. He loves walking over to the school to pick his bros up. He gets excited and smiles at everybody in the halls. Maybe he will really like going to school. He won't be related to me if he turns out to like it. Jess is really liking his new class. Already, he has brought home more papers, an actual take-home reader book, and homework. It's about time. This morning, I realized that Jess had taken his glasses off on the porch and left them there overnight. I'm babysitting my Moms very stupid dog. She got up on the table and got the glasses. They are ruined. Luckily, my Mom has offered to pay for new ones. I was so mad at Jess for leaving them, I sent him off to school in tears. So I went over later and gave him a hug. I felt like a total lunatic! When things happen during AF, I always go over the edge. Now I know why dr.s are prescribing Prozac for PMS.

Beth**I also use the words shit and others a little too much. When Taylor was not yet two, I was really mad at DH. We were having a big fight in the kitchen and Tay was asleep in his room. Jim headed out the door instead of talking it out, as usual, so I yelled " Fine! You peckerhead!" (my favorite name for him). Then out of the corner of my eye I see Tay standing in the hall. He walks over to the door, that dh had left open, yells "Ya you peckerhead!" and slams the door. I laughed and cried at the same time. He also used to say shit when he stubbed his toe or hurt himself other ways. It took us quite awhile to convince him not to repeat everything he heard. I think it's a normal thing for them to try to use words that they hear. We all just need to watch the ones we use!!LOL

Just skimming over a few posts before I take Cody's cake out of the oven.

Ran across Julianne's post. Shows how much I have been keeping up with things.

I am so sorry for your friends loss. You know why it hit you so hard is because you have kids.

At least that's why it always hits me. Plus being pregnant. When my sister in law had to be induced at six months and her baby dies it was really hard for me.

We knew for a month that it had to be done and there were a lot of tears shed.

It has only been six weeks and once in a while she breaks down in church (there are a lot of babies there) and it really makes my heart ache.

I know how you feel, in fact, just thinking of what you are going through, and especially what they are going through is choking me up right now.

I watched Beverly Hills 90210 last night (which I don't usually get to do) and it just about did me in.

Of course, when I'm pregnant I can't handle the stupid Hoover vacuum cleaner commercial they have been airing lately. LOL.

Hi mommies, kahne here!

Sorry I have been gone for a few days, but I had to tell you CAT STARTED WALKING!! On my birthday, what a great b day gift! So I guess I belong n the toddler board now huh, lol! I am sorry I wont be able to post a lot of personals tonight, but I have finals coming up soon AHHHHHHHHH! I want all of you to know that I gave my psych teacher a BAD BAD review, HAHA.

I noticed that we are discussing the cursing issue, I do it all the time. I cuss like a drunk sailor. I love it. It releases all of my built up tension. And it makes my mother blush, and that is always a bonus.

Crystal, If DH did not want to know, TOUGH NOOGIES for him. I am very happy for you, and I know that you are thrilled.

Sloane finally went to sleep! She would stay up all night if I would let her! I got her some new Bugs Life p.j.'s and they are sooo cute! Purple and pink, with a huge bug on her chest! I am trying to teach her new words and I think she is getting Bug down, of course that it what I hear, DH says it is more like Baaaaaaa. Hey, I have "mom's ears" I can hear her say snuffalupagus if I want to.

Birdie- A teletubby cake sounds really great! Good luck making it! Did you decide which color teletubby to make it...maybe you posted about it?

Lucynda- Happy birthday Cody!

Beth- I am so happy that you got your pictures back! Maybe there is hope for those of us with no pictures? I hope you get your raise soon, that is awful when you get promised something and it still has not come through!

LisaB- I had to leave Sloane October 25th through November 5th this year for business. It was the first time away, and it was a horrible two weeks. E-mail me if you want to talk about any of it. Basically, I tried not to think of how many days I had left, and I would go out a lot. The bad thing about going out was seeing other people with their babies. But staying in a hotel by myself was sadder, I think. But I made it, and I tried to "talk" to Sloane everyday. Honestly, I don't think she really was affected negativly. I was more traumatized than she was! She even looked different to me when I got home and saw her for the first time in two weeks!!! I can completly relate to the nervousness of flying...I never have been afffected before, but now with Sloane I was much more aware of the crashing potential. I had to fly on an American Eagle (30 person planes...propellers) flight from Tulsa to Dallas, and I swear it was going down the entire hour I was on it. It was awful! Luckily I was able to ride on a larger plane back to Denver!

Sarah- I remember you live in Denver!! One of these days we Coloradoans will have to meet!

Well DH just got home, he is harassing me about wanting to start a new job...let the arguing begin!! lol!

Hi all it's long lost Moriah! Hope you're all doing well. Things are okay with us. Just busy!

Last Friday (one week ago) Alex started running a 102 fever. No other symptoms. Then Saturday morning he broke out with "speckles" all over his trunk region. I took him to the Dr & she said it was some sort of viral rash & respiratory virus plus he also had a pretty nasty ear infection. So of course we were very nervous as normally as respiratory virus sends Alex right into the PICU. BUT even though he progressively got worse, he never went to the hospital or needed any oxygen! His rash got really bad & finally started to fade by Monday afternoon & the fver also hung on pretty steady at 102 also until Monday. Now he's pretty much fine. As much as I HATE it when he's sick it was a tremendous victory that he weathered it so well. All of our Dr's are super pleased!

The baby's death has also hit me very hard! It brings up so many feelings for me. Was the baby in a good hospital used to dealing with birth defects & stuff? I hope so because I'd hate to think for the parents sake that maybe the Dr's were not very informed & maybe that baby would have had a chance with surgery & lots of help. I think it bothers me so much because what if we would have signed a DNR for Alex & not took the steps to save his life. Sure chances are we could have waited a few months & then became pregant again with most likely a healthy child. But look what we would have missed? As strange as it sounds I'd never trade this experience now. I'm praying for the parents of that baby as they must be in unbelievable agony. Birth defects are possible in EVERY single pregnancy. It's an awful thing to have to think about but I don't think anyone should get pregnant without fully considering what would happen if they were faced with a child with major health issues!

Guess what! Alex waved bye bye yesterday! It was so cute. Of course now he won't do it again but he definately did it the 1st time. We have a lady who comes & workes with him for his development. She always makes Alex mad as she makes him do things he doesn't like (he has quite the attitude these days!). So anyway she was leaving & she was saying "bye bye" & waving. So he picked up his hand & waved back at her. It was the cutest thing ever. Thankfully there was Geoff, Connie & I there so no one thinks I imagined it!

I've been reading & trying to keep notes but things have just been too crazy lately. So I'll just hit the things I remember as I've now lost my notes page!

Lisa B - glad your surgery went well! Sorry you had to wean Max so abruptly.

Patty - glad Jarin came through like such a trooper! I hope the tubes make a big difference like they have for Alex.

Happy (belated) Birthday Paige! Plus hope she gets better soon!

Kahne - cracked up at your poem! I'm quite the Pig Girl lately! I just eat without abandon! Hopefully that will soon get better. Once Geoff goes away for work (the month of December) - I'll be better. He's always my downfall!

One more thing - today I tried to take pics of Alex for our Christmas cards. NOT! I decorated the fireplace with ribbon & lights & dressed him up in overalls, red shoes & a santa hat. But he wanted no part of it. He wouldn't smile for the camera but the moment I'd pick him up - HUGE smile. What a monster! So we're going to try something else this weekend. Geoff wants us to take a family pic on the boat but I don't think that will work either. So much for my trying to have the cards done to mail out by Thanksgiving!

Good morning fromHelen&Amanda!!

Well the kids are still upstairs getting ready for school and Amanda is still sleeping-its 7:30.

The croutons yesterday were nowhere to be found-- I guess the dog beat me to it! DH said it was a 1/2 bag that she spilled and was not happy that his salad at lunch was missing croutons.LOL!

I'v been reading and just to let all of you readers know a couple ideas-- I read 'Tara Road'- Oprah's book club- I think from Sept?? Then read 'Where the Heart Is'-- another Oprah book but from last year-- both were good. I also saw them at BJ's-- if your near one they are much cheaper there. Now I just started her book for this month--'Vinegar Hill' has me hooked so far--if anyone needs ideas I've read a lot of her books and some are REALLY good.Let me know. :O)

Yesterday's Oprah show was on carbohydrate addiction-- seemed interesting- the web site has more info on it and was interesting -what I saw anyway.About eating wrong and feeling sluggish and w/no energy-- I may look for that book today-I need all the energy I can get!

MORIAH-- So cute about Alex waving! Of course he won't do it again!LOL! So happy to hear he was sick and got through it on his own!! Way to go!!!!

JULIANNE-- So sad about the baby---It really hits home when we have a little one- can only imagine the pain.:O(

Hi, this is birdie and cranky boy. Just a quick post. My back is really bad right now. I spent 3 hours on the dining room floor last night. Now I'm on major drugs that make me nutty but ooohhh do I feel good. I'm supposed to leave for a conference in VT this afternoon but I really can't imagine going like this. Also with 2 major b-day parties next week I have major work to do. I have no clue how to make a teletubby cake. I need to come up with something. I also have 20 small pumpkins to cut and dig out and out flowers in for the centerpieces on all the tables. I have rented the downstairs of our church for Thanksgiving because I could never fit almost 40 people in my house. 20 tops and that would be tight. Anyway, off to do some work before I am unconcious. Take care.

JULIANNE: I'm so sorry to hear the baby died. Even if it was expected I can't imagine how hard it is for the family and friends.

SARAH W: Thanks for the support on my impending trip. I ALWAYS have tons of Max's pictures in my purse but I'll be sure to also pack a sleeper (I mentioned that to DH and he rolled his eyes and made some "silly hormonal Mommy" comment - men just DON'T get it, do they?!).

REBECCA: I'm sorry you and Paige have been sick.

CRYSTAL: I apologize for misunderstanding the situation. Actually I'm glad to hear what the REAL deal was as it sounds like you and DH are really becoming a "couple" again after being apart for so long. I'll drink TONS of water in Texas - esp. if it produces twins as DH and I would both love to have twins (I know - I'm COMPLETELY nuts but they run in the family and are a real possibility). I'll be at the Radisson Plaza Hotel at Fort WOrth. We fly in on Dec. 1 but I don't know when the flight gets there and leave on the 3rd. Training is over at 4 on Dec. 2 so if you are "free" then maybe we can get together. I know it's short notice and all but I would LOVE to meet you and Darrel, esp. as I already feel like I know you so well.

BETH: I think an ocassional SHIT is ok. My older sister curses all the time and one of my nephew's first words was the "F" one! I've only seen a few minutes of the Millionare show - the TV is always on but I'm busy doing something else and only have a few shows (Friends and ER) that I actually sit down to watch.

KAHNE: Congrats on Cat becoming an "offical" toddler. Best of luck on your finals!

AMANDA: Gosh, 3 days is nothing compared to 2 weeks. DH call Max every night when he's gone and I plan to do the same. I'm glad to hear someone else freaked about flying after having a baby - I thought my emotions were just doing me in again!

MORIAH: Alex is really improving if he was able to fight off a virus and infection so well on his own. He's a special little guy and never ceases to amaze me. Yeah on him waving bye! Before "meeting" you and other ladies on these boards that had miscarriages, lost babies, had babies with problems, etc. I always took for granted that once I got pregnant I would have a great pregnancy, a healthy baby, and a perfect life. I really appreciate now what a miracle a healthy baby is.

HELEN: I LOVE to read ... but rarely have the time anymore (esp. as I'm STILL unpacking the basement after moving a year ago - something I hope to finish this month).

Julianne here and so glad that it is Friday. Oh my goodness, we had Thanksgiving early here at work. We had the biggest potluck and I pigged major. There was ham, tons of cheesy potatos, salads, cakes and more cakes, and all so yummy. I did not eat again until 9pm then it was just a little bit of cereal. So much for my diet. We are having leftovers today!!

It is date night tonight!! We are going to see the opening of the new James Bond movie at the new mall/theatre. I am really excited. We are getting the babysitter early enough to spend some time checking out the new mall.

We found a new babysitter and really like her. She plays great w/ Colton and is talkative. The other girl hardly said a word and Colton didn't seem too happy with her. I had her come Monday for about an hour while I was at Bible study and DH was working in the polebarn so Colton could get used to her. Yeah, now I can feel good about going out and not worry so much.

I also get to have fun Saturday. I am going shopping at Birch Run Outlet mall with a group from church. I am going to work on my list for Christmas gifts this afternoon.

Bad news, we have a mouse, or more likely mice in our attic. The scratching on the walls is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard. I really lit into DH about getting the traps upstairs. So far he just has them in the garage and has only caught 1. Can you tell that I really really really hate mice??

Colton has been eating good at daycare the past two weeks. I am hoping it will rub off at home too. His teachers said that yesterday he was really happy and silly. He was waving and saying bye bye to all the kids and their parents when they left. They must have taken pictures of the kids last week and there is the cutest one of him sleeping at the lunch table using a teddy bear for a pillow. It just made me grin when I saw it this morning on the bulletin board.

Sorry for the long novel, but I have to make up for not posting on the weekends, don't I?

Sarah: Sorry to hear that you and Hannah had the flu. Yuck. Glad you are feeling better now.

LisaB: Wow, flying and leaving Max for training. Doesn't sound like such a good trade-off. Hopefully the time will go by really fast and Max will be an angel for DH. LOL

Beth: I too am hooked on the Millionaire show. Too chicken to call. I have tried the internet version and I stink at it!! I am glad that the show Greed is on only once a week. Major excitement last night. I would have lost too. I guessed chocolate, but not the vaporub. I also loved the Dukes of Hazzard. It was one of my favorite TV shows growing up. I told DH about it and he was so upset that I didn't know the details of what day and channel!

SarahW: Glad that everyone feels better at your house! Not a fun week for you. I hope the morning sickness goes away soon.

LuCynda: I visited the tots webpage and it looks GREAT! Thanks for all your hard work.

Crystal: Wow, there will be lots of little kids running around when you get together with your friends!

Kahne: Yeah for Cat walking. I used to swear like a drunken sailor, according to my husband. I have really cleaned it up the past few years. I was proud of myself last week when I got my hand pinched in my sister's glider rocker. I didn't even say ouch in front of Colton or her daughter Mary!!

Moriah: I am so sorry to have stirred up bad memories and feelings for you. I am glad that I know you so that I know what odds babies can overcome. Good morning ladies.....IT'S FRIDAY!!! :) :) :) I'm sure you've all guessed who this is...SARAH :)

HANNAH was in such a good mood last night. She just did her own thing playing all night, until she fell and bonked her head. :( Then she wasn't very happy. At least it was around bedtime. So, we read books (which she LOVES) and I put her to bed. It's so cute. I'll say "Do you want to read some books?" She gets sooo excited, and say "deez?" (which is "books") then she goes over and gets one and brings it to me. When I finish, I'll tell her to go get another book and bring it to mommy, and she does. Plus last night, after I read to her I asked her if she was ready to go to bed and she tried to climb up on her crib!! Boy, I have a smart one, I tell ya!!! :) LOL

HELEN - Thanks for the get well wishes! I saw OPRAH yesterday. Yes, AF is what you think.

Hello! Jennifer here! I still have not been back to work, they allow up to ten days on one absence so I'm taking them!! Let me tell you guys, my kid is in a MOOD! He has been so demanding these past few days and throwing fits when he doesn't get his way. I just ignore him, but then he starts hitting himself or pounds his head on something! When I put him down for his nap this morning I told him he'd better wake up with a better attitude!! Hahaha.
DH was so snippy yesterday, everything I said was wrong and led to an argument. We had an argument about those stupid wrestling shows on TV. I told him that I will not let Adam watch them when he gets older because I feel that they promote violence, abuse to women, bad language and sex. He said he'll let Adam watch whatever he wants to let him watch because he'll tell him it is fake and nothing more. I explained to him that kids are trying to act out what they see on these wrestling shows and they are ending up injuring or even killing other kids. He said he grew up watching them and he's just fine. (well, that's an argument in itself) Then he said I was bashing his mother for letting him watch it when he was a kid. Argh! I can't win! If Adam ever went to another kids house and said "suck it" or anything else bad from those stupid shows, I would just die!! Help!
Some personals:

Julianne- I am so sorry to hear about the baby. I thank God everyday that I have a healthy child. People ask me what I want next time, a boy or girl, I tell them I just want a healthy baby. The family is in my thoughts.

Crystal- I agree that there is a pregnancy bug in our TX water! My friend is 4 mths pregnant (her and I were almost the same due date when I miscarried) and one of my friends who just had her baby Aug 8 found out that she is pregnant again!! Alot of women where I work are pregnant too.

Shelly & Beth- We curse alot too, I do especially while driving because I have terrible road rage! I really have to start watching it because, like about the wrestling, if Adam ever cursed around other people, I would go hide under a rock!

Birdie- We had Teletubby birthday for Adam....some advice: don't do blue icing, it never comes clean!!!

Amanda- Sorry to hear about your American Eagle plane ride.....maybe I shouldn't confess this but, I work for American. I would definitely complain if the ride was that bad, you may be able to get something free....I can give you the address to Consumer Relations if you'd like it.

Moriah- Alex's symptoms sound exactly like what my friend's daughter had....it was Roseola. Shea had a really high temp for 5 days and then the fever broke and she had this speckled rash all over her trunk and head. It went away after 2 or 3 days.

Helen- AF means "aunt flo" pretty corny huh?

Something cute that Adam has been doing (before I go I have to brag haha)....at bye-bye time or nite- nite time, I'll say like, "Adam, you wanna go bye bye? Clean up your stuff" He'll gather together all of the toys he'd been playing with, and one by one throws them in his playpen until the floor is clean, then he turns off the tv. He does the same at bedtime. I think it is so cute and DH is overjoyed that his son won't be messy like me. If something comes over him and he just wants to go bye bye, he'll shut off the tv (even if I'm watching it) and go stand by the door. He's so silly. Well, take care everyone, I have to go to the dentist to have them check where my tooth was pulled. See ya later!

Second,

Cody was hillarious last night. I did end up making him his very own cake like DH wanted. And I made sure it was very chocolaty.

I thought he would pound it and rip it up but he didn't. What he did do was even funnier.

He took hold of each side of it to hold it steady and then buried his face in it like a dog. He ate it that way. The funniest part was that he acted like that is how I feed him everyday.

We were laughing so hard and man, I have a weak bladder from having three kids and being pregnant right now.

My in-laws were there and I was about dying I was laughing so hard and I had to cross my legs and clench my cheeks (butt cheeks that is) so as not to pee myself.

As soon as I get the pic's developed I'm going to post them on the site.

Toooooooo Hillarious. Even my father in law was dying he was laughing so hard. Poor guy, he is 75 years old.

Yes I am here and did not die! God it has been I am sure 2months since I have posted here! Pathetic! I think I will keep this as my regular board and not the pregnancy board as it is WAY to busy there and you just get lost in the shuffle and get no responses! WHAH WHAH WHAH!

I have missed you ladies! I am sure some of you dont remember me or dont know me here is some background....

I am 29 married for 6 years dh is 31. Have 3 little girls ages, 5, 2 1/2 and 15 months and 15 weeks pregnant with my 4th!

I had my 2nd drs. appointment last week and finally heard the heartbeat much to my relief! And yes I look like I am 5 months pregnant already, which I guess is nice at least people know that I am pregnant and not just getting fat!

Cynthia (31months) and Veronica 15 months were so sick last week it was awfull! They BOTH had the flu and we ended up taking them both to the childrens hospital b/c I was worried about dehydration! It was the worse 5 days of my life! I must have cried a river over the stress and the lack of sleep we suffered! Thankfully they are back to the usually fisty selves! Cynthia is back to pushing Veronica down and grabbing away her toys and Veronica is screeching because of it! Oh to be back to that life LOL!

Thank god for Alexis (5) she was such a huge help! She got no attention with her sisters being so sick so I think my dh and I will take her to see that new Toy Story movie as a special treat for being so helpfull and good during that week!

I will catch up on the posts and do some personals! I PROMISE! Have a great weekend ladies! :)

Everyone here at work is waiting for the man in charge and his daughter to leave so we can say our good-byes. I thought I would quick check what was going on in Toddlerville.

My boss took the little girl to the beach last night and they stayed to watch the sunset. She told Tara to watch carefully and the sun would fall in the water. When it disappeared Tara asked her if it would come up again tomorrow. Then she wanted to know why it doesn't fall in the water in Ohio where she lives. Such cute questions. I got a kick out of hearing that.

Birdie: I hope your back starts feeling better soon. I have had to see the chiropractor twice in my life because of back trouble. That helped me. You sure have lots of party planning to do. Have fun.

LisaB: A couple of nights ago my DH picked up the blankie Colton was snuggling in while I was getting him to sleep and inhaled Colton's scent. I was so surprised and touched. He said how much he loved how it smelled like Colton.

Sarah: So cute about Hannah trying to climb into her crib. Last week Colton patted his pillow through the bars and said "nite-nite." Sure enough a few minutes later I had him down for a nap.

Jennifer: I sure hope Adam is in a better mood for you this weekend. Great job on getting him to pick up his toys already. Good luck on the WWF disagreement w/ DH. Sometimes nothing you say can get through.

LuCynda: Cody the puppy!! Way too funny. What cute pictures those will be. How ever did you keep from peeing?? I hope we get a tree this year. We have not had one yet since DH & I have been together. Our house is so small. I think Colton's timeout playpen will have to be put away so we can put a tree in its place. I'm sure there won't be any complaints from Colton. I just don't want to confuse him by putting it away either.

Leanne: Welcome back! Yeah for hearing the baby's heartbeat. That is such a great moment. Rewarding Alexis for being such a good helper is a good idea.

Hello, hello, hello! It's us, Riley and Shelly. Freezing are buns off over here. It got so cold all of the sudden. I have central heating and there is a woodstove in our livingroom. I've been considering getting firewood. I don't like the mess, and I get bronchitis from using the fireplace too much. But, when it is deep down cold, there is nothing like the heat from a wood stove. We are supposed to get snow this weekend. Riley is busy throwing his bottle around. I don't know why?! I really need to get him off the bottle. But, I have to admit, he is my last one and I'm not in any hurry to make him grow up. Most of the time, he only wants it when he's sleepy. My Ped. told me to wean him off of it at 18 months. Oh well!! Jess is home with a sorethroat today. I had to run errands so I took him with me. We ran into PH in wal-mart. It's always weird running into him. It puts me in some sort of mood. Like a reminder of what I failed at or something. Anyway. On the cursing issue. I also curse when I drive. Tay and I were on our way to my Moms one day. This guy pulls right out in front of me, so I yell you F-ing Idiot!! Later on, we pass another similar looking car and 4 yr old Taylor says "there's another one Mom" I say another one what? And he says "Another F-ing Idiot." I nearly ran off the road. so now I try never to say the F word in front of my kids. But, sometimes it still slips out. But only when I'm hysterical.LOL

Sarah** Yes, Riley goes into the pool with me. It is indoor. My oldest sis teaches the class, so that is how I get to take him in. She takes him part of the time, so that I can consentrate on the excersise. Whenever she needs to help someone or demonstrate, then I hold him. We do a lot of excersises with water noodles, and Riley has one with a dragon head. It squirts water. So he is entertained. The class is mostly ederly ladies who get a big kick out of him.

Jennifer** Maybe you and your DH could wrestle over it. Whoever wins gets to make the decision!LOL

LuCynda**I have hotmail too. Everytime I try to visit the site, it just kicks me into my own account. What am I doing wrong?

Birdie**Are your back problems due to the cart incident? Hope you get better. If you do visit a chiro, make sure it is a good one. My Mom goes to one who has her coming 2x a week and she is in no better shape. I think he is a quack and is just milking her for $. I referre to him as her Quackopracter. Man, does she get mad!!

Well, as usual, Riley has done a number in his pants. Whenever I am on the computer, he does it. Don't ask me why! Talk more later!

Hello from Rita

I am home today. Yesterday I came down with some kind of flu and had to run home from work - made it just in time! Maddy decided to share in my misery and threw up all over me last night. We all stayed home today to recover. The weather is getting colder and wetter. The lack of outside activity really affects Maddy. She really has problems with constipation at times like this. Her behavior is absolutely awful too when she is not herself.

Amy stood up on her own last night several times. She also got a hold of one of Maddy's crayons and did her first drawing on paper. She is growing so fast. She has also hit the twenty pound mark. My
little chunker.

Moriah - Good to hear from you. Good for Alex fighting off the viral infection! Maddy also had Roseola when I was PG last year. How's your business?

Birdie - What about doing a simple round cake for the face and using something like a licorice whip for the head thing. (This would be if you were doing Po) I have seen Teletubby party things, so maybe there is a cakepan. I going to do a Blue's Clues theme for the girls since Amy likes it too.

Will - Welcome. Time out seems to work with Maddy, our 34 month old. We have been using them since 16 months or so. I have also read that children bite because they don't know other ways to express anger and frustration. You can give biters a toy that it is safe to bite until they can learn other ways to alleviate some of their feelings.

Leanne - Welcome back. Sounds like a trying time with the younger girls in the hospital. Glad to hear they are getting better. Amy and Maddy are having a wild time these days. Amy is no pushover and Maddy has a hard time trying to take things from her. Amy will scream and let everyone know that she is not happy with what Maddy is doing. I don't think that I will have to worry about her taking care of herself as she gets older. LOL

Well, Dh wants the computer and I need to run an errand while the girls are napping. Take care everyone!

LuCynda - help me! I taped 90210 and missed the last 20 minutes! What happened with the baby? My tape cut out just as Steve and Janet were leaving the room so they could take the baby off the ventilator. I need to know, it's driving me crazy.

Sarah - I talked to my friend and she isn't even sure when she is going to go back to work. This whole thing is just so up in the air. It's like my phone's going to ring and she's gonna be there saying I'm on my way over! I think I'll e-mail her, that way I can say what I want to without interruptions!

Jennifer - My DH also is a wrestling fan. I've put my foot down and told him that if Paige is awake, it's not on. If he wants to watch it, he can tape it and watch it after she goes to sleep. Kids don't understand 'fake' until they are much older. Watching wrestling could really scare Adam (especially all the blood). Maybe you could suggest the taping idea, it works in my house.

Well, now DH is sick too. It's not to bad, I basically told him that I'm already a mother to Paige, he has to take care of himself. He's been pretty good today. We took Paige for her first haircut tonight. It looks so different! All of her wispy curls are gone. I know it will be easier to manage, and at least it isn't in her eyes but I miss her hair! We took a ton of pics. The place we took her had a barbie car for her to sit in and a teletubbies video. She was really good, and barely fussed. Not bad for a tired, sick baby. Anyhow, I need to go rest and maybe have some tea. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Guess who? It's Crystal and Darrel.

Darrel is just growing up way too fast. This next baby may be our last one, and I'm definitely in no hurry for this one. It's not that I'm not happy about it. I'm very much excited. Dh just doesn't want anymore. So I want to enjoy every minute of this pregnancy. Plus, I won't be in such a hurry to wean or take this baby off the bottle or get the baby to sleep through the night. Even though I've been there for every new thing Darrel did, I feel like I missed so much of his babyhood. He started sleeping through the night at 2 months, eating solids at 2 weeks, was off the bottle at 6 months. I rarely had to rock him to sleep because he's always put himself to sleep. I missed all that. And now, Darrel is starting to finally walk a lot more. Yesterday, he even ran for the first time. It was only a few feet, but that's besides the point. Darrel now colors. He is talking constantly. He loves to play ring around the rosies. The first time, he was scared because of the falling part at the end. But I started laughing when I "fell" and clapping to show him that it's fun. So, now he laughs and claps when he "falls". It's so cute and so fun to play with him. I'll admit that with Darrel, I was looking forward so much to the toddler years that I bypassed his year as a baby. I missed it even though I was there for everything. I still bragged whenever he did something new, like when he held his head up or rolled over. But Darrel was also so advanced as a newborn that I didn't feel like I had a newborn. By the time he was a week old, he was rolling over and scooting across the floor, holding his head up, and holding his bottle. What kind of a newborn is that? At the time, I loved it, but looking back, I missed the not having to support his head, having to hold his bottle for him all the time when he had a bottle. I missed out on having a helpless infant. Darrel was always determined to do things on his own. So, I thought he'd be an early walker and crawler. When he didn't start crawling when my friends babies were, I thought he'd skip it. Then, at 10 months, he started crawling, when my friends babies were cruising. When they started walking and Darrel wouldn't even stand alone, I was embarrassed. I'm ashamed to say this, but I've never been able to talk about it. And now I really need to get these feelings out. No, I'm not "Regular Reader". I bragwhen Darrel does something new and love hearing what other babies are doing new. Darrel is just now starting to try to walk all the time. He doesn't walk full time still. He'll take a few steps and start crawling. But he does it all day long. Darrel is the oldest out of all the babies in the playgroup, so I naturally thought that since he's the oldest, he should be the first to do everything. He should be the first to walk. He should be the first to run. He should be the first to color, to be off the bottle, to face forward in the car seat, etc. For the things he was the first on, I was excited. Most of this right now has to do with Darrel not being a full fledged walker. Sometimes, it really embarrasses me or makes me feel left out. Darrel is almost 15 months and still uses crawling as his primary means of transportation. I know that there's nothing wrong with him because he can walk and does. But it's hard going to the park with my friends and their babies who are walking. Even at day care, Darrel misses out on so much because he's not a fullfledged walker. He's still in the baby room even though because of his age, he should be in the toddler room. Darrel loves to play outside, but the baby room doesn't go outside. Darrel still has to eat in a high chair even though he does better at the tables. If you think about it, how many 15 month olds do you know that rarely wlk? People used to ask me if Darrel is walking yet. Now, they assume that Darrel does walk and ask how old he was when he started walking full time. How can I tell some one that he still doesn't? And at day care, it's hard on me because I have the toddler room, and there are babies in there who are walking and younger than Darrel. They get to do things that Darrel doesn't get to because they are walking and Darrel isn't. I know this may not make sense, but I needed to get it out for once. Another thing, when I tell people that he doesn't walk everywhere, they start saying that it may be because I carry him everywhere or because he wears shoes. Starting out, the only time he would stand or walk was with shoes on. Plus, he has a habit of taking his socks off unless he has on shoes. Also, what am I supposed to do with a child who doesn't walk, let him crawl into the store? I think not. It's not like I hold him 24/7 and prevent him from walking or crawling at least as far as I know.

Well, enough of that.

LisaB: I'm free on the 4th of December. I'll e-mail you my phone number. And I forgive you for misunderstanding. That's why I explained it a little more thoroughly.

Moriah: I'm glad that Alex got through it on his own. And I know what you mean about the birth defects. They are very common in my family. I had to have genetic counseling and several tests with Darrel. But, I was more concerned than the dr. was. A lot of the birth defects are with the boys in my family, so I didn't want a boy. I wanted a girl so my mind would be at ease. We have a problem with Fragile X. I'm very thankfull that Darrel is healthy and is alive. Many of the boys don't survive in my family. We also have a problem with Downs. I have to cousins with Downs, and I had a baby brother with Down's who died shortly after he was born. He'd be about 5 or 6 now. When I was pregnant with Darrel, all I thought about the first 7 months was that Darrel wasn't going to make it. At 7 months, I had another ultrasound and genetic counseling, and everything turned out filne, so I was able to enjoy the rest of my pregnancy as much as possible. Even with this baby, I'm still a little worried but not as much as I was with Darrel. I'm still going to do as much of the testing as possiple so I can be as prepared for birth defects as possible. I'm not as worried about a miscarriage as I was with Darrel because I'm almost 2 months and just found out that I am pregnant for sure. With Darrel, I found out at 10 days, so I had the time to worry about it.

Hi everyone, from Stacey! It is so nice to be able to get on here on a weekend, now that we finally have a good computer at home. We got it on Tuesday, and they came and put in the cable modem on Wednesday, but DH is glued to it all the time, so I am taking advantage of the fact that he is out getting the car fixed AND both my girls are asleep (this doesn't happen too often so I am going to make the most of it).

Well, I survived my first full week back at work. I was asleep by 9:00 last night. I am still getting up every three hours to nurse Alexa, and can't remember the last time I had a full night of uninterrupted sleep. I think it was last February when I was travelling on business and was sick at the same time. Of course, that was codeine induced sleep so I don't know that it counts.

Franchesca is talking more and more. Some of her words crack me up. She likes to say "trash" and "bus", and her latest is "hot". Everything is hot. Even if it isn't really hot. She is picking up both English and Spanish and kind of uses both, depending on which is easier at the time. Balloon and milk are easier in Spanish. She is also very attached to DH's best friend whose nickname is Chucho, and she says his name all the time. I called from work the other day, and I could hear her yelling Chucho in the background. DH put her on the phone, and she kept calling me Chucho.

Alexa is doing well, except her eye seems to be getting infected again. It is really watery and full of goop, so we are back on the drops. She is getting cuter every day (baby acne is almost gone) and she is a really happy baby. She can sit forever and just coo at the teddy bears on her crib mobile. I forgot how much fun a baby was, and how sweet they can be.

On to the personals:

Moriah--I am so glad to hear that Alex weathered his illness well. I know what a major accomplishment that is! Yeah for waving too. Isn't it funny how they only do things when they want to? We saw some friends at a store one day and they were asking Franchesca to show them where her hair was, and she wouldn't budge. Five minutes after they left she says "Mommy" and when I turn to look she grabs her hair and smiles at me, the little stinker!

Julianne--I am so sorry to hear about your friend's baby. My thoughts are with them, and with you. Hope you had fun last night. I still have never left Franchesca with a sitter. I lined one up for the girls for December 3rd so DH and I can go to my company Christmas party, but we'll see if we really go. When I called the sitter she said she was available but then said she would prefer to watch the girls at her house, and I don;t know why I could not say no. I am such a wimp when it comes to confrontation. DH got really mad at me. So now I need to call her back and explain that I really need her to watch them here rather than taking them out late at night etc. We'll see if we end up going or not.

Crystal--Do not feel bad about Darrel not walking full time yet. Especially since he developed so quickly in other areas. This way you still are able to enjoy him as a baby, and a mobile toddler is a whole new set of worries. Franchesca has been walking for over three months, but I still don't let her walk in the store too much since she has a mind of her own and is into everything and is all over the place. She will not let anyone hold her hand when she walks. I would be careful about carrying him too much now that you are pregnant again, though. Check with you Dr. and see what they have to say on the subject.

Jennifer--I am impressed that Adam has started to pick up after himself already. Cleaning up after Franchesca is a full time job, and our house is never clean.

Well, Alexa just woke up and she has to be pretty hungry, so I had best be going. Hugs to you all!

Hi mommies. Thanks for all of your thoughts and questions about Jarin. He does not have a urinary tract infection, so who knows what was causing the fever. He seems to be doing better now. We went to Indianapolis last night so jesse and DH could go to the Pacers game. Jaime had the state cheerleading competition then today. She fell from one of their builds, so they didn't make the top five. Of course she was really upset about that. Jarin did really well sleeping in the port-a-crib in the hotel. (Of course, it was right beside me)I laid him down awake and he actually went to sleep! He did fall in the hotel room and has a lovely cut around his one eye. I didn't even know what he hit until he finished nursing and turned around and had this big cut.=(
He has been giving me lots of hugs. So sweet. At the hotel, he sat in the chair with me and watched TV as we ate m & m's. It was so funny. He looked like he was about five enjoying the show with me. LOL
