August, 1999 (Part 2)

Good Sunday morning everyone...it's Cynthia and Adam (although he's in bed having a nap).

OK who took our summer away??? It's cold and rainy out today. I actually had to put long sleeves and pants on Adam today. And my feet are freezing.

TRACEY: Gee, you haven't had much luck lately. I hope you're feeling better soon. Just after I had Jesse, I got what you have now twice in a row also. My doc sent me to an ENT and they scheduled me to have my tonsils out. But when I went for my blood work, my iron level was way too low so they cancelled the surgery. I was glad because I'm terrified to be put under. All three of my c-sections were only local anesthetic. Do you still have your tonsils??? If so maybe they could be the root of your problem. I can sympathize with you because it HURTS so much. I still have my tonsils and I still suffer every year. I wish my mother would have had them taken out when I was three. The drugs they gave you should start to make you feel better real soon. Be sure to finish them all. That's nice that your Mom came to help. It's nice to be taken care of once in a while eh?

Does anyone ever hear from CathyG or Fiona or Jill??? I wonder if they know about this sight? I often wonder what happened to them.

Well since my little monster is sleeping, I think I'll take this opportunity to go take a shower and tidy up a bit. My two older boys will be coming home in about an hour and a half, so I guess I'd like my house to look good for at least 10 minutes!!!

Take care all and I'll probably talk to you guys tomorrow from work.

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. Our weekend was okay. AF decided to stop by for a week on Saturday morning and I have been really crampy and crabby. My dad, step-mom and 2 brothers will be here Monday evening through Wed. They live about 12 hours away and haven't seen Elizabeth since Christmas. Okay... I am going to vent for a minute. My step-mom (aka wicked witch of the west) E-mailed me and told me that they will be arriving Monday evening, spend Tuesday here and leave on Wed. morning. That's just fine and dandy but she then went on saying that she'd like to get some shopping in on Tuesday. OKAY... They are driving all this way to do some damn shopping and not see us or spend quality time w/ Elizabeth. I wouldn't mind at all if they would stay a couple more days!! I think her exact words were: "On Tuesday, I'd like to shop inbetween sight-seeing!" Well, we were going to take them to Estes Park (about 45 mins. away) and Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park for a picnic and to view the animals (there are alot of Elk and big horn sheep). I thought my brothers (ages 11 and 14) would really enjoy that! And I know my dad would. BUT Noooo... my step mom wants to shop! Ugh!! Oh well. Okay, sorry for that little fit of mine. I do feel better though.

So, if I don't check in with you all in a couple of days, you know why.

I hope you all have a good week!! I need to go... I have some last minute things to get finished before my company comes tomorrow.

Good Morning eveyrone! I thought I would write a few personals:

Sarah w/Amanda, I hope you had a good weekend!!

Cynthia & Leanne, Thank you both so much for the advice and info on bottles and pacifiers. I thought about it, and I think I am going to wait a couple months to totally wean Elizabeth from the bottle. She drinks approx. 22 to 24 oz. of milk a day... is that about right?

Rita, did the girls let you sleep better this weekend??

Sarah & Isaac, Yea! It sounds like Isaac is on his way to be fully potty-trained. Good to hear that he's not freaking out as much. How did he do this weekend?

Julianne, I had to LOL aobut you and happy dances and the sex fairy. Ouch... poor Colton's head! These kids of ours are very resiliant (sp)! When Elizabeth hits her head and I think it should really hurt, she doesn't really cry unless she sees my reaction.

Mimii, HI!

Tracey, HOW ARE YOU? I sure hope you get to feeling better. I know you don't feel good at all... you didn't post this weekend and you usually do! Oh, btw... Astros and Braves play in Atlanta this week! Isn't that great! GO Braves! LOL!

Beth, I am going to try your Heath Cake this coming weekend! Yum yum! How much milk does Allison drink a day? Is she walking good yet?

Well, Elizabeth isn't walking nor does she seem to have any interest. I have a feeling that when she starts to walk, it will be a run. When she first started to crawl... it was more like a cheetah crawl! I know when my dad & step mom get here, she will have a few things to say like, "my boys were walking at 10 months or a year!" She always has real caddy remarks. She's the kind of person that will tell me how much cuter another baby in the family is. I know, I know... cuter isn't a word but it works. My step mom is only 40 years old and just loves to be queen of everything! Can you tell I am really looking forward to seeing her. Okay, sorry... had to get all that off my back!

You guys have a good Monday and take care!

Happy Happy Monday to everyone. No, I didn't hit my head over the weekend. I am just in a good mood today because (Drum Roll~~~~~~) Colton slept through the night last night. YIPPIE!!! I certainly hope this is not a fluke but a new trend.

I also have to say that he is just the cutest thing ever. He had me laughing all weekend w/ his antics. He has learned to put things over his head. Even managed to get his baseball hat on backwards--too cute. He put a chain of links around his neck and strutted around the house like he was hot stuff. Full of hugs and smiles all weekend. He got into my closet again and pulled down one of my long skirts w/ a liner. There he was parading around the house trying to put it over his head. DH isn't too pleased about this cross-dressing thing.

I tried e-mailing pictures to you mommies but have had several people tell me they received no pictures, just jibberish. Sorry. I am not sure what to do to clear that up.

Mimii: Hello stranger, glad to hear from you. How are things going w/ Koda? That is what I call my DH for short!

Tracey: Hope you start feeling better soon.

Kelli: Hope all goes well with your family visiting. Maybe you can convince you step-mom to go shopping by herself and let everyone else have fun at the parks. Good luck!

Have a great start to your week everyone.

Good morning from Rita.

We had a pretty good weekend, doing things around the house to get ready for Amy's Baptism in a few weeks.

We were having a really smooth phase with Maddy the last few weeks, but now she has become high maintenance again. She will not nap, stays up late playing in her room, etc. She screams and throws herself down when we say no. It seems that her regression coincides with Amy's advancement. Amy screams when now when Maddy takes something away from her the same way that Maddy has started screaming. Of course when we went to a birthday party on Saturday for a one year old, Maddy was so sweet and charming to everyone and everyone thought she had to be almost four years old.

The sleep fairy did not visit me, but her sister the "other" fairy did. (I can almost join your other club, Tracey. LOL)

Tracey and Kelli - All I have to say is "Go Giants and Go A's!" We have one team from each league to root for in this area. I never want them to play in another World Series against each other, because that's when we had the big Loma Prieta earthquake in '89. I am convinced that it happened for that very reason.

Well, time to do some work. Take care everyone!

Hey there ladies and babies. I hope that you all are doing well today and that you all had a great weekend. I am STILL not feeling well at all. This is the longest I have ever been sick except for when I was pregnant. I have been on the antibiotics for a week now and I am still running fever and I just don't feel like doing much of anything. I am thinking of taking Cynthia's advice and go to the ENT because my tonsils are huge and that night be the whole problem. I just need to wait until I have the money. Probably next month will do fine. Well Dillon is sleeping and this is already his second nap today. He woke at 6 this morning and then when he was eating breakfast he was falling asleep in his high chair. Poor baby is also running a low grade fever and his nose is running. I gave him some Tylenol and Dimetapp. He is still being so good though.

Cynthia- Sure thing, send your laundry to me and I will do it and ship it back. NOT! I haven't even been keeping up with ours very well since I am not feeling up to par. Sorry to hear that it was cool there this weekend. I am thinking that we might have an early fall because many of our trees here are already loosing there leaves. Well after this summer I am ready for cold weather plus I will get to go buy Dillon all new clothes and stuff. That boy has a hug foot. Not even 14 months and he is wearing a size 6 Nike.

Kelli- If I were you I would let the wicked witch go shopping by herself and go and do the other things thast you and DH had planned to do. Don't let her spoil all the fun. Elizabeth may not be walking but she is farther ahead on talking. Dillon is walking but he does not talk that much but he is getting allot better and really starting to jabber up a storm.I will miss you.

Julianne- I too could not open the pictures. I would have loved to have seen you and Colton. I am so glad that he slept all night for you. You really needed that. Hopefully it will continue. He sounds so cute with his antics. What a little stinker. I think he is allot like Dillon although he wants nothing on his head.

Rita- Glad to hear that you all had a super nice weekend and that things are coming along for the Baptism. So the SEX fairy came tovisit you huh? She was here once but I told her to get lost since I don't feel good. That Maddy is like Taylor staying up playing in her room and so on. They sure do have a mind of their own don't they? Hope Amy is doing alright.

Debbie, Beth, Sarah and everyone else. Where are you? Hope you all are fine. Take care all.

Good afternoon ladies. Sarah g and 2 sleeping kiddos here. :) I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a pretty good weekend. DH and I went out to great sushi on Sat. We really try to get out once a month so we can still feel like ourselves... ha ha ... My IL's watched the kids. Isaac has a great time there, but Sofie is really attatched to me, I guess since I'm staying home, her personality, too. She cried for over an hour there, they insisted she was hungry, even though we had to pull over on the road on the way there, she ate only a half an hour before we got to their house. So they gave her 8 oz of formula, (she's breastfed, so this 8 oz all at once was a total shock to her already full tummy) I think she must have just felt soothed by the milk. Any way she threw up ALL over when we picked the kids up; luckily they got to see the result of all that formula. It just really got on my nerves that they acted like I hadn't fed the baby and that was why she was crying. She looked so thrashed when we got back, she was in her bouncy seat totally dazed, ugh! I was (and still am) SO irritated. IL's, sometimes they're great, most times they drive me up the wall!
Luckily, the weekend got much better on Sunday. Kids had harmonic convergence of nap times; Tracey, Rita, add me to your members list ;)

Cynthia- thanks for the "museum boys" picture. Your little guys are so cute!! Sorry you guys are cold up there. Usually this time of year we're well over 100 degreees, so we've been enjoying highs of 80. What's this all about, anyway?

Kelli- thanks for asking about Isaac. You know, he's really got down how to go potty at night. He's definately using it to his advantage. During the day he'll go once or maybe twice on the potty...
Best of luck with your step mom! It does help to vent, doesn't it? Don't take any snide comments to heart!

Julianne- congrats on your full night's sleep, and Colton's!! Keep it up, Colton! :)

Rita- is that what started the 89 quake? I'd always wondered...

Tracey- Get well, girl!

Talk to you all later!

I am going to go ahead and put my recipe on here hoping that you all will want to do this again. It is a great one and everyone loves it.

GREEN ENCHILADAS

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion(chopped)
1 small can chopped green chilies
1 2 ounce jar pimientos
1/2 pound American cheese(grated)
1 cup Velvetta
15 flour or corn tortillas
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 soup can milk
1 package green onion dip

If using flour tortillas then just heat in microwave to make them soft. If you are going to use corn tortiallas then you need to heat them in a skillet with a little oil for about 15 seconds on each side.
Brown onion and ground beef and drain. Mix in 1/2 of the can of green chilies and set the other aside. Stir in pimientos and the American cheese and stir until melted over medium heat.
Stir together over medium heat in a 2 quart pot the Velveeta, cream of chicken soup, chilies, milk and green onion dip mix. When it is melted take it off the burner.

Hey Ladies!! How are all doing tonight? I am fine and Allison is doing great. She started almost walking this weekend. I'm really excited about it even though I know it means more work for me. She was EVERYWHERE tonight when we got home and it only took her a couple of seconds to get out of eyesight too (still crawling mostly, but some walking there). Anyway, had a good weekend, got the house clean and it is much nicer than messyville and got to spend lots of time with DH and Allison.

Kelli - AF must be spreading herself pretty thin these days as she made a visit to me and Saturday morning as well. Don't worry too much about Elizabeth walking as you already know, Allison is just now starting and she is over 14 months old. Hope your Heath Bar cake turns out good for your wicked stepmonster. LOL!

Tracey - hope you feel better soon. I will try to think of some good recipes to post, but I posted most of my really good ones way back when we were doing it on BT.

Cynthia - DH wants to come up there where it is cold and you have to where long pants. He told me to ask if you had room for another DH LOL!

Julianne - thanks for the pics. Colton is a cutey pie! Congrats on sleeping thru the night

Sarah g - I know what you mean about IL's mine are a real pain as well, but I won't go into all that right now. They do seem to be getting a slight bit better or maybe I'm just learning to ignore them better! LOL

Rita - Maddy sounds like a real pill. I hope she gets out of this difficult stage soon.

Oh, for you ladies that have had the sex fairy come and visit, my DH would like to know if there is a websight where she can be reached since she hasn't been here in a while (you know, with AF visiting and all it kind of cramps our style!!). I'm sure she'll be making an appearance soon or he will get grouchy and we can't have a grouchy DH!! Well, it's way past my bedtime so I will see you ladies tomorrow. HOpe the Sleep Fairy is visiting us ALL tonight. Hug those babies!

Colton made it through another night without getting mom up--YIPPIE. He woke up around 3, and I let him cry himself back to sleep--only a few minutes. This is great, not having to get out of bed every night. Just so you know,I am not letting the sleep fairy go!

Colton has a new word: Bug. He is always tipping his head back to look at the ceiling. He likes to watch the bugs! Not that we have bugs crawling all over our house. However, a few flies are always sneaking in, along with a spider or two every now and then.

I get to leave work early today to get my hair done. It needs to be cut, my bangs are past my nose! I also get it highlighted. Then it's off to another Creative Memory scrapbooking class. DH gets to watch Colton again. They will probably go for a drive.

DH took Colton for a ride on his dirtbike last night. Colton was making motor noises and just smiling. I think I am going to have a little dare devil on my hands.

Rita: Good luck with the baptism plans. Colton cried almost the whole time we were standing up front during his. Dh was just sweating away, I just grinned--what can ya do? He woke up right before we went up and was hungry. I should have brought a bottle up w/ me.

Tracey: Sorry to hear you are still feeling so bad. Thanks for the recipe. I will have to dig one up. I never know the measurements by heart.

SarahG: Poor Sofie throwing up like that. It is hard to go out and have fun when you don't feel comfortable with the sitter watching your baby. Hopefully your ILs learned their lesson about overfeeding, especially with formula.

Beth: Yeah for Allison. It is so cute to see them walking everywhere--lots of falls & bruises though:(

Take care everyone.

Hi from LisaB - a "lurker". I had to post to congratulate Beth on her recipe today win! We have a "feud" on babies today - someone posted anoymously to Crystal (who also posts here) about her marriage and the hormones started flying. Reminds me of PregnancyToday! Max is getting bigger every day. He got his first haircut and looks so old. Last week he pooped in the bathtub - first and HOPEFULLY last time for that. Yuck! Anyway, I look forward to joining you "officially" in a few weeks. Everyone have a great day!

Good morning from Rita.

The sleep fairy deserted me last night when Amy decided to wake up at 2:45AM. UGH!

Tracey - You had better get well soon. We can't have you under the weather! I'd like to try your recipe, but DH hates Velveeta and I know that cheddar doesn't melt so well. I'll have to experiment with it.

Beth - Oh yes, Maddy can be a real pill. She was such an easy baby. We thought "this parenting thing is not so bad..." Then she turned thriteen months and everything changed. She is definitely what you would call a spirited tot. It does take alot of effort to deal with her, but there also great rewards. She constantly amazes me with what she knows.

Julianne - Thanks for the pictures! I was able to save them as .html files and look at them in my browser. I will be taking a scrapbooking class at my local bookstore in two weeks. I'm looking forward to getting some good ideas. I cleaned out our spare room this weekend and made a place for me to work on my crafts.

Well, it's time to work. Take care everyone!

Crystal here. 13 days and I'll officially be on this side.

Rita: Darrel is extremely easy. Are saying that Darrel can be more difficult in a few months than I thought? He listens so well and is the biggest sweetheart. He's very easygoing. In fact, he actually sits still for more than 5 seconds.

Well, that's it for now. See everyone soon.

Leanne Here

Happy Birthday to you .... Veronica is 1years old today!!!! I cant believe it. She was born at 11:43am so when that time went by this morning I could not help but reminace about her birth!

The past year has been so much fun!! She has been such an easy baby - full of smiles and giggles. I was so nervous before she was born as I wasnt sure I would be able to handle 3 kids and 2 of them being only 16 months apart. But not only was it FINE but out of all my kids I nursed her the longest 7 months and she had to be the easiest. I have to admitt that I have been very lucky with my girls all three of them have been very good babies. My baby now enters toddlerhood!! BOO HOO

Sorry ladies I dont have time to post any personals - have a party to plan and a house to clean - but thank you for letting me boast about my kids and Veronica especially it really was a great year that went by soooo fast.

Will check in tomorrow and post then!! THANKS

Good afternoon everyone...it's Cynthia,

Just a quick post because it's almost quitting time.

BETH: Your recipe sounds sooooooo yummy. No calories right????? OK, one quick question about the cake. Is it really important to spread the EagleBrand milk first and then the chocolate fudge second. Or could you combine them in the microwave and pour them together? Forgive me if this is a dumb question but I'm NOT much of a baker. I'm definitely going to try your recipe tonight or tomorrow. Good thing is DH doesn't like desserts so there's more for the rest of us.

I'll check back later from home.

Cynthia,

not really sure if it matters, never tried it any other way except to pour them seperately. I don't think it would make a difference since they end up getting mixed together anyway. Let me know how it turns out!

HELLO LADIES!!!!! Can you all tell that I feeling so much better today and all that yucky fever is GONE! : ) I feel like my old self again but even better. It is hot as you know what today but I am actually going to go outside and put the sprinkler on my plants because they are all dying. Dillon has been really cranky for a couple of days now and running a low grade fever and pulling at his ears as well as a runny nose. He is either sleeping or being cranky all the time. If he is not better by Friday he will be going to the doctor.

Well once again we have someone shooting kids and it looks like one of them might die. I am so sick and tired of all that. What are these teens thinking of. Shooting these little innocent children. What in the world did these little kids do that is so bad or wrong. Nothing is my answer and yet they are shot by some kid and they are wondering why? They are thinking what did I do that is so bad? Is it because I am Jewish? Ugh, I am totally pissed.

Well the kids are fighting as usual, that is going to be the one good thing about when Blake goes to school on Thursday. No fighting during the day. I am really going to miss the kid though. He is so sweet and helps me out so much. I am scared to send him back to school after all that happens at the schools now though. I will have to make sure to pray to God to send him home safe to me everyday. That is so bad when you have to be worried about your child at school.

Beth- The Sex Fairy nor the Sleep Fairy was visiting me last night. I am hoping that she will be tonight though. Both will be nice but the Sleep Fairy had better be here or else she will be visiting no one ever again because when I find her it will be the end. LOL Allison sounds so cute walking everywhere. Dillon goes everywhere now and he is so proud of himself. He shrugs his shoulders when he is in a real hurry. He is the cutest little thing on Earth. The cake sounds great. As a matter of fact, I know it is because I have had it before. You can also use other candy bars on there like Butterfinger. It is really good with that or Milky Way and instead of the fudge stuff you use caramel. Yummy! Also the best recipe you ever gave was for thechicken pot pie. That is our favorite and Blake begs me to make it. Your potato recipe sounds great also. We love potatoes of any kind.

Julianne- You better keep the Sleep Fairy there or else off with her head when I see her. No really , that is great that you can sleep all night now without having to get up and put him back to sleep. He sounds so cute about the bugs. We have flies and spiders sometimes also. Every once in a while we have a lizard also. Dillon loves all bugs. I hope that your hair looks great. You deserve that day of paradise all to yourself. Sounds as though Colton will be riding dirt bikes before he is 2 huh? Dillon loves to ride my dads 4-wheeler. That boy wants to do everything that Tay and Blake do.

LisaB- I know what you mean about the hair cut. Dillon has had two already and is due for another one really soon. He had his first at 5 months and he was so good. Now he does not like to stay still so I just buzz it myself. Sorry about him pooping in the tub. Been there with Blake and it is not fun.

Rita- in the recipe you can use the American cheese instead of the Velveeta. It is so good. Then you can make Beth's cake for dessert. Sorry that the Sleep Fairy wasn't there either. Julianne is hogging her for herself. LOL

Crystal- Tried to talk to you on AIM but you never responded. I am glad that Darrel is so good for you. Give him a chance and he will be a pill like all boys. I hope that things work out well for you and Doug and of course Darrel.

Leanne- HAPPY BIRTHDAY VERONICA!!!!! So your baby girl is one and will be 16 before you know it…I know what you mean about being nervous about 3 kids. I was the same way when pregnant with Dillon and he has been the best and happiest baby that I have had.

Well, seems I am through for now but will check in again later. Love you all so much.

Hello there, Sarah g here.
We had rain this morning! in August, too strange, now it's just muggy. I took Sofie for a check up today and she's doing really well. Isaac even tried to use the big potty at the dr's, after he'd filled his diaper, but he made a great effort anyway. Our potty outlook is improving day by day, I can't believe it.
Tomorrow I'm going to enroll in school, just a night class, but hopefully a good beginning.

Beth- Congratulations on your little walker!

Julianne- Keep up the good work w/ your sleepy boy! Thanks for the pictures, Colton is just a doll!

Leanne- Happy Birthday to Veronica! It does go so fast. I have a niece turning 1 on the 17th, I can hardly believe it.

Recipies sound good, you guys! Thanks for posting them, I'll try to post 1 later.

Hi everyone, from Stacey

I just wanted to quickly check in and say hello. I am thinking of all of you, but do not feel up to posting right now, although I have been reading along. Things are kind of stressful for me right now, so I will keep my comments short and sweet rather than ranting and raving like a pregnant lunatic.

Give your little ones big hugs for me, and take care of yourselves :)

Well can you all believe taht I am actually writing two times in the same day???? Don't say yes because I know that you all are lying. I am just feeling so darned good. okay now hold on a minute.......No sex and still feeling good. I really didn't think that was possible. I guess that it is after all.

Okay, I have a couple of questions to ask you ladies so give me all your input on this alright? Firlst of all like I said before Dillon has a runny nose, slight fever, very cranky and pulling at his ears? What do you all think? Doctor time or is it just the teething? Also, do any of you have any ideas of something that I could do at home to make some extra money? I want to do something to help me pass the time after DH goes to work. He leaves at 3:45 and then I have the rest of the night to do whatever. Please, I really want the input on this.

Well I am already thinking of Halloween here and it is only August. I think all three are going to be clowns this year. I was going to make the costumes from a pattern but instead I am just going to go to Goodwill and buy three pairs of jeans that are too big for them and then get them some suspenders and roll up the pants. I will roll one leg up more than the other and then let them wear two different shoes and two different socks. I will also paint their faces and maybe buy blake some of that big rainbow clown hair. I know that they are going to be just too cute and I will have to take lots of pictures. I will be so sad that my baby is already trick or treating though. But on the other hand I know that he will be having so much fun. What are all of your kids going to be or have you even thought of that yet?

Stacey- I am sorry that things have been so hectic for you lately? Isn't the baby due next month? I guess you will be back on BT then huh?

SarahG- Isaac is so cute. Thank you so much for sending the picture to me. He is a little doll. We sure do have some really cute kids on here don't we?

Well I guess I will go for now. Talk to you all later.

Crystal here.

Tracey: I've been up on AIM all day, but I haven't been at my computer all day. I was baby-sitting one of my friends babies, and she was really cranky today. I'm thinking about Darrel being a scarecrow. However, I'm not taking him trick-or-treating this year unless the whole playgroup goes. Last year, Darrel was Tigger. I'll be on and off the computer tomorrow, but I'll probably be off longer than on. Playgroup is tomorrow. Plus I have Carmen again. As far as home based jobs go, there's envelope stuffing, medical transcriptions, Government refunds, and the list goes on and on. I'll e-mail you with some details either tomorrow or Thursday.

Hello from Sarah&Amanda--

Another quick hello to all!!!!! We're back from our weekend away, had a good time considering there were 7 kids between two couples- all got along well ranging in age 18-1yr. Amanda is still getting back into our routine and catching up on lots of missed sleep. She actually slept at the beach rolled up in a blanket!! She is getting another tooth- hope it pops out quicker than the last one!!!

CRYSTAL- Sorry to hear someone on the board is giving you a hard time, and isn't mature enough to post a name- I guess 'that' tells all- just ignore it. :o) Hope everything is working out for you.

Thanks for the info on the bottles and binky's. Big brother and sister are 11&13 so the brain starts to get foggy about those things by this time.

Gotta-go!! DD rented 'Patch Adams' and wants to watch it--

LATER!!!!

Hi there-
I tried e-mailing everybody a picture of Isaac, but I got a failure notice for a few adresses, my typos, I think, but it would appear I accidentally sent the whole Adobe program, and a bunch of other pictures too. (our old christmas card, family reunion stuff... like you were all dying to see that) >:(

What a dummy! I am so sorry, just delete the 1000+ k monster. I better refine my technique before I try again. Any of you seasoned computer gals got any suggestions?

Ugh!

Good morning mommies & babies. Yep, the sleep fairy was at my house agian last night. I keep telling her how Tracey wants to strangle her so she will stay! I loved leaving work early yesterday to have my hair done. I had about 2 inches taken off boo hoo. I am a big baby when it comes to cutting my hair. I like how it turned out though. I needed a different look--nothing too drastic though.

DH ended up watching Colton for only 3 1/2 hours last night. You would think it was days, not hours. When I came how I could hardly walk through the pile of toys. I think they played with everyone of them last night. Both Colton & DH were sound asleep on the couch--so cute I had to take a picture. DH was so tired he could hardly crawl into bed. I just laughed at him being such a wimp. So he goes OK, lets hurry and have about 6 more then--NOT. Anyway, it took me over a 1/2 hr to pick the house up so I did not get to bed until almost midnight.

We are going to take Colton to get his first haircut tonight. Just his bangs though, I can't bear to cut off his precious curls in back. His hair isn't too long in back yet anyway. Then it's off the the IL's for a surprise MIL b'day party. I could not think of what to get her so I am going to pick up a gift certificate during lunch.

SarahG: I couldn't open your pictures so I didn't even know you goofed! We have not been able to figure out our scanner either. I ended up sending actual pictures to someone else to scan & e-mail back to me. Good luck with yours. What type of classes are you going to be taking? Sounds like you are making great progress with Isaac's potty-training.

Leanne: Happy 1st Birthday to Veronica a day late, oops. Let us know how her 1st birthday party went.

Tracey: I agree with you about kids hurting other kids. It is to hard to imagine our children not being safe in places like daycare and school. Is Blake excited about going back to shcool? I usually wait at least a week before I call the dr about ear pulling and fever. So often it is just teeth. However, since you have been so sick and needed antibiotics to clear it up you might want to call the dr right away. What, Halloween! I haven't even given it a thought yet. Colton was Pooh last year.

Stacey: Hello, good to hear from you again. Sorry that you are so stressed though. Feel free to rant and rave with us anytime. We know all about hormones. How much longer before you are due? Wishing you a fast and painless delivery.

Sarah: Glad you had a fun weekend away, 7 kids must have kept everyone busy though. Hope Amanda's tooth comes in quick. Let me know if you liked 'Patch Adams'. I have passed over it a few times since I have not heard how it was. I have to try to squeeze in 'You've Got Mail' tonight after the b-day party. It is due back tonight, but I hate to return it without even seeing it, so I will just have to pay the late charge.

Sorry that this got so long today. Work is really slow this morning so I had lots of time.

Good Mornng everyone...it's Cynthia,

BETH: Thanks for the cake info. I think I may try it tonight. DD wants to bake cookies tonight, so maybe at the same time I'll try the cake.

TRACEY: My laundry is on it's way to you. And as a consellation prize I'm making sure that a really cute UPS man delivers it to you OK??? I'm glad you're feeling so good again.
So you cut Dillon's hair too. I did Adam's also.
Don't they look so un-babyish (is that a word???) with an actually hair style?

KELLI: How are things going with the step-mom?

JULIANNE & SARA G: I received both of your e-mails but I can't open up the pictures.

Can anybody tell me how to open them. A window keeps popping up telling me that I have to go to My Computer and click on View, then Options, then File Type. But still I can't figure out what to do after that.

SARA G: Don't feel bad about sending all the extra stuff. I actually sent a wrong picture for a baby photo display. I accidentally sent one of Adam with the back of his head toward the camera. Gee Cute baby!!!!!

Well I'm off to an appointment so I'll check back later.

Leanne Here,

Well first of all I would like to thank you all for the wonderfull birthday wishes for Veronica. Her birthday party went well. Managed to clean up the house to make it half decent and the girls help decorate with balloons and streamers.

Veronica was soo excited!! She was bouncing up and down on her bum all over the place and laughing and screaching. I was surprised that she realized what was going on. Loved the balloons. With the birthday cake.... never seen this before - instead of blowing out the candel, which neither of my kids could do she go it out by GRABBING the flame and snuffing it out!!! We were all so shocked at first I think she was too, then when we reacted she started to cry!! Poor thing. I dont think it hurt her, but I think the heat delayed her reaction. Did not even touch her cake just smeared the whipping cream all over her face. I guess that is what 1st Birthdays are all about.

Very excited this morining to all you POTTY TRAINING SISTERS, Cynthia went pee on the toliet twice this morning. She has sat on the toilet I dont know how many times but never did anything, so this morning she went and was really excited so we put on her Tellitubby panties(favorite) the ate breakfast and she said that she had to go poo poo. Well we rushed to the toilet and her panties were wet, I thought she peed her pants, but instead she had spilled her milk from cerel on them - so great!! no accident she peed AGAIN in the potty, put new pants on the not 5 minutes later Alexis comes upstairs to tell me that Cynthia peed on the floor!! ARRRGGGG. Well at least she has done it on the potty so has the feeling now hopefully she will do it at least once a day. When she got her clothes to get dressed she brought me a diaper. So looks like she still is not quit ready yet!!!!!

Anyways,, on to posts:

Crystal: Thanks for the BD wish, how are things going with you and DH? Any better?

Tracey: So glad that you are feeling better, hard to be sick and take care of 3 kids eh?? I know what you mean about Blake going to school - being happy and sad. Alexis is the same way, she is a huge help with Veronica, playing with her and carrying her up and down the stairs for me. But at the same time she has been so bored lately, that school will be really good for her. She is always complaining that there is nothing to do. I know it is only half days but I think it will help. I feel as though I am entering a new world!! Sounds like Dillion may have an ear infection. I would get his ears checked, but I know that with the one year molars - which I believe Veronica is in the middle of getting, they tend to be more fussy (no fever though) fever usually means ear infection!! Thanks again for the BD wish for Veronica - it is funny but she is already starting to show her independence!!!! If you take something away she wants she just screeches at you. FUNNY.

Sarag: Good for Issace using or sitting on the potty, looks like he is starting to take some interest. Want to join our POTTY TRAINING Sisters CLub??? You got to be ready to tell all the stories.LOLOL Hey good luck with school, good for you , you will really enjoy it. Thanks for the BD wish.

Beth: Congrats on you little one walking!! Here comes a new world.!!!

Jullian: Good for you to get your hair cut. I am the same way, I just got mine cut and got at least 3 inches off now it is just to the shoulder. Really like the style, layers and such but it is much more work now!! Which I did not need. Oh well it will grow. HOpe that Colton is good for his hair cut. I cut my girls, but now I take Alexis for hers because it is to long for me to do myself.

Cynthia: thanks for the picturs, but I cant see them??? Did not work. please resend them. Thanks

Well got to go and clean from party last night.

Just one thing I forgot to say,

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY VERONICA!!!!!

LEANNE: I think we're having a picture problem on this board. I'll wait to see if I get any "tech support" from someone on this board who might know how to open pictures. I too am having problems opening pics.

LISAB: a.k.a. The Lurker...I'd love to see pics of Max. I'll e-mail you. I'm pretty sure you've already seen my pic of Adam when he was 14 months old. I know, I'm a pathetic mother. The pic is 6 months old!!! I do have newer ones at home, I just have to send them out.

Hi! I don't know if anyone remembers me, I used to post on Babies today, and then dropped off the face of the earth for a while. I never appreciated the amount of time and effort required to be a SAHM.

Anyway, my name is Cathy G and my little one is Alison, who turned 1 on July 28. She started walking about 2 weeks before that and keeps me quite busy. I also have a 5 yr old named Emma who is in sneior kindergarten, but home for the summer competing for my time and attention.

I recognize many names from BT, and have kept in touch via e-mail with Tracey, who told me about Toddlers Today (thanks Tracey). I know I won't be able to keep up, but I hope to pop in occasionally.

Here's my question: My oldest was saying words at 1 year and sentances by 15 months. Alison says mama, dada and emma, but not always correctly, and not much else. The Dr. said that at 1, they should be saying 2 - 3 words in addition to mama and dada, but told me not to worry yet. Any comments?

OK one more time today before I leave from work.

CATHYG: Hi Cathy. Of course I remember you. Gee is Alison really one already!!! I wouldn't worry about her talking. I think Emma was really advanced. I remember when I met you, Alison and Emma and I found Emma to be very intelligent for a four year old. Adam isn't the most talkative boy, but does say alot of words (mostly only that his family understands). I know Jordan (my oldest)was also an early talker like Alison, but Jesse (my middle guy) was quite late. SO I guess they all have their own pace. You know I always looked out for you when I picked Jordan up from school, but I never saw you. DH actually had to deliver something on your street (which I see is STILL under construction) and I tried to see where you might live, but I don't remember what kind of car you drive. But hey, I wouldn't have come knocking at your door or anything. I'm too shy for that and wouldn't want you to think I'm some kind of stalker or something!!!
Maybe I'll see you again since school is starting soon. Nice to have you back. Any pics of Alison?

OK I really must go now. I must pick up my little guy.

Good afternoon from Rita.

Someday my sleep will come, la la la....

Personally, I think that the sleep fairy is on vacation in Bermuda or something.

Pictures - I was able to view Julianne's pictures. When I click on her attachments I get a window that pops up and I select the "save as" option. I can then see the name of her file and below that I select file type as ".html". When I have saved it as an .html file I can open it up in my web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator, etc). Once in the browser, I go to the file option, select "open file" and browse my files until I find it (filename.html) and open it up. I could not open up Sarah G's pictures because I was not familiar with the format they were in. Most people's systems can read .jpg and .gif type files. When you scan a picture it would be best to save them in either of these formats to send out. You can also send pictures out in .html. Anyone with an internet connection can open and view an .html file. Beth may be able to provide better explanations than I can, since she is a programmer.

Well, it's time to pump. Check in with you all later.

Well once again I am here for you all. I know that you all can't go without me for a single day but you will have to. This weekend we are taking the computer to Best Buy and they will have to send it off to get it fixed. I am going to die without talking to all my pals everyday but the good news is that I will be able to go over to MIL's and post from there 2-3 times a week. This time for sure we are going to take it and get it fixed. Hopefully they will not take too long but I know how these places are, take their time and charge an arm and a leg. Well we will not have to pay for it anyway since luckily we paid for the extended warranty. I knew that with three little ones running around the house it would be in our best interest to go ahead and pay for it. And it will already pay for itself.

Well today we went out to eat Mexican food and it was so good. Not the best thing to eat with it being so hot. I should have had a salad or something like that. I drank enough for an army though. Dillon has been drinking allot also. I put a fresh diaper on him when he goes to bed around 7-8 and then at about 11-12 he is soaked and I have to put another fresh diaper on him. Anyway, we went to Wal-Mart afterwards and put a few outfits on lay-a-way for Taylor and 1 for Dillon. Taylor always seems to get more clothes because they just have such cute things for her. Also last night DH came home with 3 big bags of clothes for Taylor and Dillon that a friend gave us. There are some great clothes in there too. Some are Osh Kosh, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger. It was so much fun going through them. Then later today we went to Goodwill, yes I did say Goodwill and I found Taylor some very cute clothes. One was a dress by Rachel's Kids that was about $300 and I know it sells for about $30 and it was in perfect condition. I also got her a pair of Arizona overalls that are just too cute and a long sleeved shirt for the winter that I paid about $1.25 for. I love going there and finding that cute stuff. It is too fun!

Well I just took a bath and shaved the forest. Get your minds out of the gutter, I meant my legs. LOL It is so hot here that we always have the air on in the van to full blast yet we are still sweating to death. It is just too hot for us. We need some cooler weather and now would be great. Okay well my Blake is going to go to school in the morning which is not good for me because I will have to get up at 6:45 to feed him and get him ready and then I will take him to school tomorrow but after that he will ride the bus. He just has too many things to take with him plus I want to go meet his teacher and talk to her a minute.

I am going to be writing a diary of my own for the page and I am so excited about it. Oh boy, everyone can read about my busy life with the three kids. Dillon will have them rolling on the floor laughing. I know they will want to see what I have written from the week before every Monday when they put up the new ones. There is never a dull moment in this house.

KELLI-First of all I want to tell you that you are a real &@$*+. LOL I am just joking and I hope that you know that. Instant Messaging me and telling me about my team losing to your team. What kind of friend is that? LOL I love the rivalry. I will be so glad when we get all our players back. We will be hard to beat then. I know, I am just making excuses for my team but they are MY team. Anyway, how did the visit with your dad, two brothers and step witch go? I know that you are glad that they are gone home but I am sure that your dad enjoyed the time with you. I am glad that we can have you and Elizabeth back now. Oh yeah, I was going to come to Colorado next summer on vacation but you can kiss that one goodbye. Okay just joking again, we really are coming to Colorado next summer though and I hope that I can meet you. I already talked to Sarah about it and she is going to get us some tickets to see the Rockie's play and she said that we can stay with them for a couple of days. I do NOT think she realizes that she is offering to take in 3 kids and Jay and I. Well it will be fun.

Crystal- Darrel being a scarecrow will be so cute. I have to let Dillon go since his big brother and sister will be going. He has to do every thing that they do plus I would not leave him out. I will not be letting him have all that candy though. Maybe a piece or two. I will be looking for your e-mail about the employment opportunities. I need something badly.

Sarah- I am glad that your weekend went well. Good to know that all the children got along so well. Hope Amanda's tooth comes in quickly also. Dillon has been cutting these 4 molars forever and a day now. Did you like the movie Patch Adam's? I loved it and cried some also.

SarahG- All I saw was the one photo of Isaac. Hey don't worry about it. We all make mistakes. I once thought I had made a mistake and that is my only mistake. LOL Like that would ever happen. I am joking, I make mistakes all the time.

Julianne- TURN HER LOOSE NOW!!!!! I want to see her here tonight or I am going to be upset. Who do you think you are keeping her all to yourself? That is great that Colton is letting you sleep. I can only imagine getting up every night for a year. I would have gone nuts. All my kids started sleeping all night at around 2-3 months. I count my blessings on that one. I am so glad that your hair turned out so good. Always helps when you like it. Sorry the house was such a mess when you returned home but at least you know that DH played with Colton and did not just ignore him. I know that they had to be so cute asleep together on the couch. Let us know how the hair cut turns out. My mom was so mad when I got Dillon's hair cut the first time. She loved the curls but I like it short.

Cynthia- Alright, a good looking UPS man huh? I would rather have it sent USPS sine that is where DH works. More money for us and he could deliver it as he is all the man I need. Okay I know that was more than you wanted to know. Yes they do look so unbabyish with a hairstyle. It is sad but then again it is so cute. I just had to run and trim up Blake's hair. I almost forgot. It was down past his ears and I do not like that so I had to go give him a trim.

Leanne-I am so glad to know that Veronica's birthday went so well. Dillon didn't blow out his candle either but boy did that kid make the biggest mess I have ever seen with his cake. It the end there was nothing left of it. He had slung it all over the kitchen and he would just go down and take a bite out of it like a dog would. It was so cute and funny and I have it all on video. I know how that potty training is. She will have the hang of it before you know it. I get very frustrated when Taylor would pee pee on the floor. She does very well now though so it will not be long. I know all about screeching when they don't get what they want. We were at Wal-Mart today and Dillon wanted a toy and when we did not get it he started crying so loud.

CathyG- Dillon only says 3-4 words also so I would not worry about it. Taylor took a long time to talk and now she will not shut up so just enjoy it while you can. I am glad that you came and posted and hopefully we will see you again in the next week. Would once a week be too hard? I hope not.

Rita- If you see the sleep fairy tell her I have a present for her so please stop by my house. LOL I could not view the pics at all. I had no luck and tried several things. How are you doing Poop Sister?

Debbie- Glad that you are back safe and sound but very sorry about the company. It seems that you all are constantly having company. You need a rest for sure.

Oh I forgot to tell you all that we had spaghetti for supper which is Taylor and Dillon's favorite and Taylor told me, "Thank you for making my sighetti mommy." It was just too cute.

Beth-WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!?!?!?

Well I must go for now. Talk to you all later

The Sleep Fairy is still at my house... She doesn't want to leave, and I don't want her to.

This evening,I went to one of my friends house who has a 9 month old little girl named Sarah, and she is Darrel's girlfriend. Sarah was napping when we got there, but after she woke up and my friend brought her out, Darrel got so exited. He said "Hey, Sarah". Obviously it wasn't completely clear and he didn't say all the letters, but it was clear enough for my and my friend to know what he said. I guess he'd rather talk than workk on walking. That's fine. It just means that he'll be saying what he wants and/or needs rather than crying for everything. It'll make my job a lot easier.

Good Morning ladies. Hope all is going well with all of you. We are all doing fine. I played softball Tuesday night and the girl that was catching for us broke her nose. It was TERRIBLE!! It made the most horrific sound when the ball hit her. DH felt terrible because he was pitching and went to cover home plate because there was a play there. The guy over threw him and there was really no way DH could have caught it, but he felt bad because she was right behind him and it smacked her right in the nose. Before she left the field her nose was about 5 times normal size and both her eyes were already black. I'm sure she looks lovely about now. Her sister was watching Allison as both Dh and I were playing and poor Allison was all of a sudden just sitting by herself in the grass playing with her toys as everyone forgot about her in all the confusion (I didn't but I couldn't go get her because I was on the field.) Finally a teenage girl that was with our team went over and played with her.

Tracey - thanks for missing me and I'm glad that you are feeling better. You are going to have to find a way to post while your computer is being fixed we will miss you terribly if you don't!

Sarah g- I was able to open the second set of pictures. Issac is too cute!

Stacey - feel free to rant to us anytime. You forget, it wasn't too long ago that most of us were just as hormonal as you are now. I'm sure we all remember the late stages of pregnancy all too well!

Sarah - glad you had a good weekend. 7 kids, WOW! I bet it was never too quiet around you guys!

Julianne - If you have the sleep fairy then I must have her sister or something because I thought I had her. Maybe she just flew over and left lots of sleep dust behind for us to use.

Leanne - Veronica sounds too cute snuffing out the candle with her finger. Allison didn't blow hers out either, but she wasn't quite as adventurous as Veronica!

Cathy G - I remember you well. I have the "other" Allison (with 2 L's instead of 1) I have often wondered what happened to you and Jill with Kelsey our other Canadian friends. Hope to see you around more often.

Cynthia - were you able to try the cake last night?? How did things turn out??

Rita - your explanation of how to open picture files is good. If you have Microsoft Outlook as you mail software there is an option on there under the file heading to save attachment. You can save them to a folder or your desktop and type in any extension you want (ex. jpg or gif) and you should be able to open them this way. That's what I had to do with Julianne's pictures (kept the same name and just added a .jpg at the end of it). Microsoft Paint will open all jpg files and most everyone with windows will have that on their machine somewhere. The html thing that Rita explained also works well.

Debbie - good to hear from you again. I was beginning to think that your part of California must have broken off into the ocean or something. You ALWAYS have guests! You must be a super hostess.

Kelli - How are things going with your visitors? Post soon and update us.

Well, this may the last time I will be on here for a few days. We are going to South Carolina for a few days and I won't be back until next Thursday. I think the guy we are staying with has internet access, but I'm not too sure if I'll be able to get on there or not. If not, I'll talk to you ladies next week. I may try to check in tonight before we leave if I have time between all the packing, etc.

Well boo hoo, I just went off and left by child at school for the entire day. I kept asking him if he was nervous and of course he wasn't but i sure was. I was having nightmares about school last night and I just wanted to cry when I left him but didn't. I even said to him,"Don't go! I will home school you!" He didn't like that idea one bit though. Oh well, I know it will get easier for me but it will take a few days. Oh well, I just beeded to get that off my chest and to also say that the SLEEP FAIRY was here last night. I didn't strangle her I was just glad to see her again and Dillon is still sleeping as well as everyone else in this house.

Beth- I am glad that you are alright but sorry that the lady broke her nose. I know that had to hurt. Seems she would have been paying more attention though. I will miss you when you are gone. When you come back we should have one more here with us. Becky and Harley from BT will be 1 tomorrow so they will be here and there will be many more to follow.

Talk to all you ladies later.

Let me start by saying that I hate it when I lose a post. Why does it always have to be a long one?

Colton had his hair cut last night. He did really good. He sat on DH's lap and got to look out the window and wave at the cars/trucks going by. I told her to cut the bangs and by his ears, but just to trim the back since I love his curls. Well, most of his curls are gone:( BOO HOO. He doesn't look like much of a baby anymore. I did take pictures and collected his curls in a ziplock bag for his baby book though.

We had a fun time at MIL's b-day party. They have two peddle tractors that they let the kids play on for the first time. It was so cute they has us snapping pictures and laughing. Colton & Cheyenne would take turns pushing eachother. Then when they brought the 2nd one up they would keep swapping. If one would get off and touch the other one, he/she would get off and take over the empty tractor. Then DH decided to scare everyone and clear the room. He was letting Colton pet the mounted deer heads when one decided to come crashing down. Boy did I jump. Luckily nothing was broke.

I had to finish making a dish to bring my friend who is pg w/ triplets when I got home. She found out at her ultra-sound at 20 wks that she carrying 3 babies. This is her first pg and she was not on fertility and it doesn't run in the family. Big surprise, 3 little girls. She has been on bed rest since. She is on wk 30 and has just started steriod shots. They really want her to go another 5 wks. She may have to be admitted to the hospital after her check up next week. Please pray for her and the health of her babies.

Between finishing dinner, watching "You've Got Mail"--which I thought was great, getting Colton's bag ready for daycare, and picking up the house I did not get to bed until after midnight again. This has got to stop. I have a job interview today and bags under my eyes is the last thing I need.

Leanne: Sounds like Veronica had a great time at her 1st birthday. Snuffing out the candle counts. My DH didn't even let Colton try, he just blew it out. We got it on video and the look on his face when I asked "what did you do that for?" in kinda an uptight manner is great. He had that deer in the headlights look expecting me to get really mad. I didn't though, but it sure is nice knowing I can make him flinch! Yeah for Cynthia going potty twice--getting her to tell you she has to go is half the battle.

SaraG: Great picture of Isaac. He is a very cute baby/toddler.

Debbie: OK, I'll release the sleep fairy. I think she has been sneeking out anyway since Crystal and Tracy saw her yesterday.

Tracey: I love it when people give me a bag of clothes for Colton. It seems like Christmas to sort through everything. Sounds like you had fun shopping for everyone. Sorry bringing Blake to school was so hard on you today. I am sure he misses you too!

Crystal: Darrel saying "hey Sarah" is so cute.

Beth: I read your post holding my nose. OUCH! Glad someone stepped in to watch Allison though. Have a great time in SC.

Yeah, tomorrow is Friday!

Hi from LisaB, who will officially join you in about 2 weeks. I just found a cool website that I wanted to pass on to everyone. Do my fellow "older" mothers remember School House Rock? It was on during Saturday morning cartoons ... Conjunction Junction, I'm Just a Bill, etc. I found a website with the words to all the songs!!! It may have sound - don't know; turned my speakers off as I checked it out at work and didn't want to get caught goofing off. Check it out at http://genxtvland.simplenet.com/SchoolHouseRock.

Hello from Rita.

I have been leaving a little later in the AMs these days so that I have some time with Maddy as well as Amy. Even getting her dressed in the morning can be battle these days. I am wiped out before work starts.

Debbie - Welcome back. Maybe I should sign my posts Rita/Debbie? I think that some of Maddy's behavior problems are a delayed reaction to Amy's birth. She will deliberately do something to get our attention if we are focused on Amy. Her refusal to potty train at home is also probably for similar reasons. Everyday is an adventure.LOL

Leanne - Sounds like Veronica had a good birthday. What a brave girl going after the candle!

Sarah G - Isaac is a cutie.

Tracey - What can I say? Your Blake baby is all grown up. I am not sure how I will deal with that when the time comes. Maddy is always talking about school and how she wants to go. We are trying to use that as a springboard to potty training. The nursery schools around here don't take children who are not trained.

Well, gotta get going. Take care everyone!

Hi everyone...it's Cynthia,

OK sleep fairy, come back up to Canada. I need you!!!!! I think I got a total of 4 hours sleep last night. I have no energy to work.

TRACEY: Lucky you for the three bags of clothes. Nobody ever gives me stuff. I have a SIL with a boy one year older than Adam and last year she gave me a snow suit. But that's it. SHe saves everything for her sister. But I do love those second hand stores. Even for myself and the two other boys as well. If you really sift through, you can find lots of good name brand stuff. Of course my guys love GAP clothing, so I welcome the second hand stores. Who can afford brand new GAP stuff? OK so I CAN send my laundry to you, as long as I use USPS????? IT'S A DEAL!!!! Just think, you'll get to see Jay even while he's working then. How was Blake's first day of school?

SARAH G: I was finally able to see your picture of Isaac. What a sweetie. He's got lots of hair and so blonde. Watch out little girls!!!

JULIANNE: I tried everything to see your oics of Colton, but nothing would work. Can anybody else forward his pic to me in a jpg or gif format?

BETH: OUCH!!! That poor girl. I know just how she feels. That happened to me when I was 10. Talk about blood everywhere and PAIN!!!! I never played baseball again until I was over 30. It's still not a favourite game of mine. I haven't tried the cake yet, maybe this weekend. I am passing it around my work here. When you said a large jar of CHocolate fudge sauce, what size are you using. The biggest jar we have here is only 250 ml. That's about a 4 oz jar for you guys. I guess I should use two jars.

Tomorrow is our anniversary. Even though we aren't married, we still celebrate the day he asked me to go "steady". Tomorrow will be 4 years. Not sure what we're doing. I would love to go out for dinner, but it's so expensive. Gee I never thought...should I be getting him a gift??? I better run out tonight and get a little something. ANy suggestions?

Well I better go. Duty calls.

Hey everyone! My dad, step-mom and 2 brothers arrived here on Monday evening and left Wendesday morning. It was a nice but quick visit. My step mom only made a few snide remarks but I tried not to let it bother me too much. Elizabeth had fun playing with my brothers and my dad got a kick out of Elizabeth and her many mouth noises. I guess the only thing that irked me while they were here was they fed Elizabeth so many sweets! I kept saying, "Okay, I think that's enough for now." But they didn't care! UGH! Elizabeth probably ate her weight in cake! I don't like to give ELizabeth too many sweets. Natural sweets like a peach or banana are okay, but it's the cake and ice cream, etc. that get to me. DOn't get me wrong... I let her have these things every once in a while, but very little of it and not often.

The next round of company (MIL!!)should be here sometime in the middle of next week. My mom, step-dad and sister are coming the last week of August! I will sure be glad when August is over.

Elizabeth stood alone a couple seconds yesterday for the first time. I still think it will be a couple more weeks or so until she begins to walk. Who knows!!

I haven't read through the posts much, but skimmed a bit. I am so glad we are going to post recipes again! I need some variety! Here is my recipe:

TEXAS HASH

1 pound ground beef
2 lg. onions, chopped or sliced (I use about 1 1/2 onion)
1 lg. green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup minute rice (I use 1 cup)
1 can tomatoes
2 teas. salt
1 to 2 teas. chili powder
1/2 teas. pepper

In large skillet cook meat, onions and peppers until meat is brown and vegetables are tender. Drain fat. Stir in tomaties, rice, salt, chili powder, and pepper. Heat through. Pour into a greased 2 qt. casserole dish. Cover w/ foil and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
**I usually add 1 fresh chopped tomato to cook w/ the others. I also add about 1/2 cup water at the end.

I need to clarify something in my recipe: at the very end where it says I add 1/2 cup water... I add the water before I put it into the oven, not when it's done cooking.

Hey ladies and toddler's. Well I actually lived while Blake was at school and it is not that bad after all. I asked him if he missed me and he said, "NO!" I started crying then and only then did he say that he did miss me. I don't really think that he did, he was just saying that where I would not cry. I think he was too busy to miss me. He said that he stayed at school way too long. Oh well, he had better get used to it. Also I told him that he was not missing a single day of school this year unless he is running fever, throwing up or having diarrhea and you know what that stinker said? He said, " Okay I will eat too fast." When he eats too fast and too much he throws up. I think it is reflux. He better not be starting that already.

Well I took the kids outside this evening and let Blake ride his bike and Taylor rode her tricycle. I pushed Dillon in his car and he always has a ball doing that. He loves it outside. I let him out of it right before we were going in the house and he was walking everywhere. He would have walked all the way down to the end of the street if I would have let him. He loves to walk all around. He was even walking on rocks that hurt my feet and not even crying. I have a tough little cookie there.

Okay well I will get on with the posts now since I don't really have anything else to talk about.

Julianne- Sorry that they took off his curls. Maybe you can sue them for putting you through so much pain. LOL I am sure that he looks cute but it is so hard to get them the first haircut. I got Dillon's first one when he was 5 months old. He needed a hair cut when he was born. Colton sounds so cute riding the pedal tractor. A friend of ours has one of those and Blake used to ride on it. He moved to Wisconsin now though so my other two never got to but I would love to buy then one for Christmas. Colton can say he took down his first deer when he was one. Bet that most men can't beat that. LOL I will pray for your friend and the babies. I bet it was a BIG shock for her and DH. Guess they won't need anymore children and the good thing is that they will get through it with just one pregnancy. I will also pray for her sanity after the girls are born. Very nice of you to cook some stuff for her. How did the interview go? I hope it went well and you had better get some sleep tonight.

LisaB- I will go to that website. I know DH will because he loves those shows and sometimes they still come on. Last time we were actually watching Saturday morning cartoons on a local affiliate they were on there. Cool that our kids can see the same things we did when we were growing up.

Rita- Sorry that you are so tired before work. Seems that Maddy is a handful to say the least. I know my Blake is all grown up now. It was nice without the fighting though.

Cynthia- Blake's first day of school was good. He said that he really likes his teacher and that he had allot of fun. They didn't waist any time though, he already got to work on his math. It is going to take a few days for me to get used to it but I think that I will enjoy the rest from breaking up all those fights between him and Taylor. Sorry that I don't have any clothes to send you. I think Blake's would be a good bit too big for Adam plus he has usually worn them out when he outgrows them. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !!!!! Ours is in 5 days and will be 8 years for us.

Kelli- Glad that the company is gone. I know what you mean about too many sweets. Luckily when I say stop the family listens. Dillon would eat them until he exploded though. How about Elizabeth standing on her own. Way to go sweetie. She will be walking tomorrow so watch out. Wow you really will have a busy month won't you? I do not envy you at all. I will have to try that recipe but how dare you make Texas Hash and live in Colorado. LOL Sounds good!

Well I hope to see more posts soon because it can get very boring sometimes. Take care of yourselves.

Crystal here. Not much new going on here.

Tracey: Didn't get the chance to e-mail you the info today. Will definitely do it tomorrow. I had Carmen again today, and both her and Darrel were very cranky. It's bad enough with one cranky baby who thinks he's almost a teenager. Actually, it was Carmen who was the worse. Her mom is trying to get her off the bottle, and Carmen refuses to go sleep without it.

Rita: I feel alot better now. Darrel is almost one and refuses to even try to stand up by himself. Until he started crawling, he didn't mind it when I stood him up. Now, he refuses. He only pulls himself up when other babies are around, but he will not cruise. He can, but he refuses to.

Well, that's all for tonight.

Hi, Romaine here.

I did a light skimming of posts-too hard to keep up right now! I have just over 2 weeks to go!

Saba was feverish a couple of days ago. We can see no reason why other than working on those molars!

We have not yet moved her into the "big girl" bed. She has not been showing much interest the last while. I guess that Baby will have to sleep in the plapen until Saba is ready to be moved.

Rita and Cynthia- you were asking about Saba's name. She named after a Carribean island that we went to on our honeymoon. It was so beautiful and we loved it there! It turns out that it also has an ethnic origin and means "morning". Her middle name is Rae, so it is like she is morning sun-to us she sure is!

Kelli- I love it when they jabber when they are reading! It is SO cute!

Stacey- Oh, my 13 mos. apart! You sure will have your hands full! Is there family close by to help out? You are one brave lady! How fortunate that Franchesca is learning 2 languages! Having a second language (I think) is very important and useful today!

Cynthia- Got your e-mail- nice looking boys! Thanks for sending it!

Sarah g- I got your picture too! What a cute picture of your son! Thanks for sending it! i had no problems opening it!

I should go now, it's getting late for me. I hope to check in again soon!

Hope sleep fairy visits all the little children!

Hi, its Debbie.

Not much new going on today. Maddie got sent to her room 3 times today for sticking her tongue out at me. That little angel.........

Tracey - Yes, I do need a rest, without babies, without dh. Maybe for 1 day, but I couldnt go any longer. I am sure little Blake missed you, he was just fooling you.

Beth - We're too far from the ocean, but we could get blown up by a volcano. No, I am not a good hostess, its just these darn fishermen that come and dont bring their wives. So I get to wait on them. Have a great trip. Talk to you next week.

Julianne - Thanks for letting her go. LOL

Rita - I think thats part of Maddie's problem too. It sure is an adventure! And I wouldnt change it for the world. I know you wouldnt either.

Kelli - Your house sounds like mine. Company..... Your recipe sounds good. Thanks.

Have a good night everyone, talk to you tomorrow.

Yeah it's Friday. Nothing much planned for this weekend though. My interview went good yesterday. I was interviewed in a conference room by their entire HR department of 4 people. I couldn't believe it, I wasn't even nervous! I must be maturing. Ha Ha. They really need someone to start in about 2 wks and I don't know if I will be available yet. I am getting a really good severance packange and do not want to give that up. We are planning to use it to buy the additional acreage adjacent to our land so that we can build a nice house. I will just have to see what happens.

I had to yell at DH this morning. I was trying to get ready in the bathroom and he was still in bed watching the Today show. Colton was busy emptying the bathroom drawers. He had been playing with the sunscreen bottles. All of a sudden I stepped back and SPLAT~~~~~~sunscreen everywhere. I smashed a bottle and it exploded. Let me tell you, there is nothing pleasant about coconuts & the tropics in such abundance early in the morning. When I hollared at DH he quickly got out of bed and started serving Colton's breakfast. I got to clean up the mess! Of couse, our bathroom floor is all carpet.

I just realized that it is Friday the 13th! I just hope it is not a full moon too.

Cynthia: Happy anniversary. 4 years together is worth celebrating. Hope you have a special evening. Gifs for my DH is easy--trip to Sears for tools. Other gifts lately have included a package at a tanning place, a hammock, chocolate chip cookies from Mrs. Fields at the mall, and golfing accessories.

Kelli: Yeah for Elizabeth standing alone. Wow, your August sounds very busy with all the visitors. Good luck.

Tracey: Glad Blake admitted he missed you, but sorry it took your tears to get him to say it. They sure develope devious minds at a young age. Would you believe my friend's DH actually told her that he would like more kids? When she asked what would he do if they had triplets again. He replied "we will be the Bradey Bunch!" I am sure his tune will change once the babies are born and he is dealing with 3 demanding little girls. I finally made it to bed before midnight: 11:30--what progress.

Romaine: Only 2 weeks to go, wow. All these new babies make me want another one. We must be having another baby boom. I have been attending baby showers at least once a month this whole year! I have friends due every month October through December. Not including 4 babies that have already been born this year.

Have a great weekend everyone. Hope the sleep fairy spreads sleeping dust to all our houses.

Hello from Sarah&Amanda!!

I've been reading every day but never sem to get on here to post-- sorry!!

JULIANNE- Patch Adams was a good movie- not suspenseful, but good. How was 'you got mail?? did you get to se it??

Amanda has gone on an eating strike- won't let me feed her anything and makes a mess doing it herself,so she is not getting any veggies, won't eat chunky things but does like scrambled eggs, pancakes and PB sandwiches-- any suggestions????She is also not getting much milk since she only has one bottle a day now. Probably only 10oz/day, maybe a little more and only has 4-or so oz's of juice. I know they don't need that much food but she is getting so fussy- any food ideas??

Amanda's new thing is to shake her head 'no' when we tell her, no feeding the dog. She is so funny, also stomps her feet, and points to things she wants, or has a hissy-fit to get her point across. She also tries to pry the door open to go outside- such a precious age!!!

DH and I went out on the motorcycle last night for a quick ride w/friends of ours, was nice to go out and 'air out my brain'.
OK- back to the dishes- LATER- have a good weekend all!!

Pretty quiet on here today so far. I have time left on my lunch hour so I thought I'd send the following response:

Sarah: Yes, I did get to see 'You Got Mail'. It meant that I stayed up until 12:30 though! I thought it was a really good movie for a love story. Very cute. DH was asleep after 20 minutes! A movie must have lots of action or suspense to keep him awake. Sorry that I can't help you with Amanda not eating much. Colton goes through that quite a bit. So, I still feed him 2 bottles of formula and 1 serving of cereal to make sure he is getting a good variety of nutrition. Good luck!

Hello from Rita.

Quiet day on the board today.

Sarah & Amanda - When Maddy was younger, I followed T. Berry Brazelton's advice that as long as the toddler was getting a pint of dairy (including yogurt and cheese) and some vitamins to make up for the times when veggies and other things weren't eaten, parents didn't need to worry so much about the amount of food eaten each day. I would make sure that Maddy had a least eight ounces of milk at daycare and make up the rest at home. Lucky for us, she loved (and still does) yogurt and any form of cheese. Now if I could only get her back into eating more than just Ceasar salad for vegetables...

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We will be prepping for Amy's Bapstim next weekend. Fun fun.
Take care everyone!

Leanne Here - Hi Ladies and Babes

Ok the last 2 days we have had a couple of major milstones!!

First of all. Cynthia is OFF her SOOTHER YEAH!!!!!!!!!! You cannot believe how relieved I am of that. She seemed to be getting more and more attached to it. She only used it for sleeping, but I would catch her with one in her mouth if she saw one laying around.

I have had three of them laying around and kept on procrasting about getting her off of it. Did not want to go through any sleepless nights - and she NEEDS her naps. Well I had heard about cutting the tip of the soother off, and cutting bit by bit till there is nothing for them to suck on. I thought that if I did that she would still take it b/c she is so stubborn. Anyways, cut up the other 2 so that I would not use those just in case and cut the tip off of the last one. She was going for her nap and asked for it saw it and said "its broken" I said, "yes, because when you get to big for soothers they end up breaking.... do you want to put it in the garbage?" she said yes mommy do it - so I put it in the garbage That was it. She asked for it a before nap and feel asleep with out it. Bedtime was harder, kept on asking for it and reminded her it was in garbage. This was on Wednesday and no more asking!!!!

Just had to tell you all. PLus Veronica now can walk with her walker. The Fisher Price one with wheels, she pushes it and walks. It is soo cute. Her feet are completley turned out and she takes these baby steps but does not push to hard to fall over. Alexis and Cynthia were not able to use it until the COULD walk. So Proud!!

ONe more thing. My DH said the sweetest thing last night. Was talking on the phone with friends who are expecting and I heard him say that he thought I was the most beautiful when I was pregnant. That I just glowed and it gave him such a good feeling that we were creating this child to gether!! Made me tear up!! My DH is not one to give complements very often!! I wish I had a tape recorder!!

Cynthia: Still cant open pics. I am a moron. Congrats on your "anniversary" it is nice to celebrate it. Are there any plans in the near future to get married?

Cathy G: Welcome, I had the same problem with my 2nd child. I think it is because the oldest always ends up speaking for them all the time. Alexis's is always answering for Cynthia, I have to remind her that Cynthia can answer for her self. Dont worry. When they hit to the words just fly out of there mouths. It is so amazing!

Crystal: Was hopingfor good new with your dh. Time will tell I guess. You are right about not getting hopes up for some things. All you get is disappointment. Not only with DH but with family and friends too. Keep up the positive attitude!!

Tracey: LOL your Forest!! You are too funny. Glad Veronica is not the only screecher out there! Hope she gets better as she gets older!!(What am I dreaming!!!LOL) That is Alexix's favorite food to sighetti. I think they say it the same way!! Taylor sounds cute.

Beth: SOrry about girl breaking nose.

Jullian: 3 Girls!! OMG all at once. I wish her all the best!! WOW. I LOL with dh and the candle blowing I can just picture it!! I know what you mean about losing the curls. Alexis cut Cynthias hair right before her 2nd BD and she had really cute curls too. But Alexis did such a good job. She cut it into a bob!! Cynthia got so many complements on it!! Colton will too.

Rita: I know exactly what you mean about getting the girls dressed in the mornings. Alexis is not so bad she does it herself. But I have to chase Cynthia down and side track her to get her dressed! ARRRGG.

talk more later ladies ahve a great weekend!!

Crystal here.

I got that job I wanted. I had posted about it several weeks ago, and they finally called me back for another interview. It's a day care center with free day care for the teachers and free teacher meals. I start on Monday.

For picky eaters: I read in "What to Expect..." that if a child is very picky and you're concerned about getting adequate nutrition, try multi-vitamin foods. Some examples are cheese (calcium and protein), cantelope (vitamins A and C), whole grains (corbohydrates and iron), bread, rolls, bagels, spaghetti, macaroni, cereal all have carbos. as well. Orange juice that is calcium fortified or apple juice that is vitamin C fortified is also good. I also have some recipes from "What to Expect..." if anyone is interested. I'll be more than happy to e-mail them. Also, it's best to go by what a child is eating thrugh the whole week instead of just one or two days. Usually a toddler will get the required amount of nutrients by the end of the week or month.

Tracey: Sorry I didn't get the e-mail out as I planned. I had a last minuter interview, and a friend would only watch Darrel if I had agreed to help her out after the interview. She had her son, my son, and two other babies from the playgroup. Of course, I'm the main coordinator of the playgroup, and I have a job now. Even if we're not able to continue the playgroup, we all see each other often enough that the babies will still know each other very well and socialize with each other on a regular basis. I'll e-mail you soe info as soon as I can. Sorry it's taking so long.

That's all for now. Talk some more later.

Hello ladies-

Oooo! I'm so excited- Isaac has used the potty every single time, yesterday and today! (except for one accident yesterday afternoon) Wednesday he was still going poo poo in his diaper. Yesterday I put him in training pants because he did SO good going pee in the potty, and he never had to go poo poo. Today I asked him where he was going to go poo poo, and we talked about using the potty for that. Well, he went poo poo about 5 times (yikes!) in the potty and no accidents today. I can't believe it! So now he's wearing big boy underwear. Oh my gosh, he'll be grown up before I know it...

I went to register for school yesterday, I'm trying to get into an html class. Should be fun.
We got a space at a parent participation nursery school nearby. Looking forward to more interaction w/ more moms and kids. We had car trouble last few weeks- no can do housebound anymore!

Leanne- Maybe there's something in the air with milestones these couple of days- huh? Congrats on no more soother for Cynthia. That must have been tricky-
So, the potty training sisters club... I'm sure I'll have a stinky story to tell; we might not quite be out of the woods yet, but we'll take our undies and diploma any time... :)

Cynthia- happy anniversary!!

That's all for now ladies! Have a great weekend!

Hello from Sarah&Amanda!!

Amanda is starting to sleep through the night on and off, better than nothing. Its slow around here but nice- I can actually catch up on things!!

RITA- Thanks for the info, like I said, they don't need to eat very much but it worries me sometimes. She has a fit when I try and feed her and is not good at it on her own so the yogurt ends up all over her and the tray, she won't eat cheese, so I'll have to do some experimenting w/foods.

CRYSTAL- Thanks, I'll read my book and see if there's anything that sounds good.

Gotta go- Amanda's awake, we'll try scrambled eggs for lunch-LATER!!!!!
