My 2-year-old son is very withdrawn from people. He will only speak to his father, one sister and me, and he is also struggling with an eating disorder. What should I do?

I would suggest that you talk to your doctor again about your concerns and see if he/she will be willing to refer you to a specialist. As a speech and language pathologist, I have evaluated and treated children with "eating disorders." Contact the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association at www.asha.org for a clinician experienced in feeding/swallowing disorders in your area. Often, local hospital speech and hearing clinics have clinicians experienced in working with children with "eating disorders." They can evaluate and possibly treat your son for these issues and may be able to refer to an appropriate professional regarding your son's social issues.
