My child has head lice. How do I clean and disinfect my home to get rid of them?
Homes do not become infested with head lice as they are human parasites requiring human blood to survive. They are not household pests. On the other hand, it is always prudent to wash linens as you normally would (with soap and water) and vacuum that which cannot be washed. Bagging toys or stuffed animals is not necessary, and thereų no need to "disinfect." In fact, it is important to avoid pesticide sprays and other chemical or disinfecting agents because the risk of them to the family in this regard is greater than any benefit."
