What are some ways I can cook tofu so my toddler will eat it?
Three-year-olds can be notoriously picky when it comes to trying new foods, so dropping plain tofu cubes on your child's plate might not be the best approach. Try starting with something familiar looking and tasting like tofu pudding. You can whip up a batch in the blender in a matter of minutes using packaged silken tofu.
If your child is a lasagna lover, you will be surprised to learn that crumbled firm tofu (not the silken kind) marinated for a few hours in lemon juice with a little salt and sugar makes a great ricotta substitute! Once you've tried a few recipes successfully, you can start using the word tofu and getting your child interested in other tofu dishes, like marinated and baked tofu fingers or scrambled tofu. Finally, don't forget that you can make quite a few baked goods with tofu, like cakes and breads. This is a great way to get tofu in your child's diet, even if he never learns what he's eating!"
