We had some rough times thrown our way that I wrote all about in previous entries but never got around to publishing so they will be following this entry.
The Tree is up as well as the other decorations. The Christmas music plays through our house all day long and the Christmas cards are being sent out tomorrow. Almost all of the shopping is done and all we have to do is get the gifts wrapped and put together. There is nothing missing and I can’t wait for Christmas morning to be here. I love this holiday as it is my favorite and so very important to our family. I will be sure to take extra time in my entry to go more in detail about this in my next entry. I just wanted to get this entry up as soon as possible. I will write more this week.

Okay, last week was a bad and not because of anything Alec did. In fact, he kept us going through this crazy week and just cracks Joe and I up. :o) The beginning of the week started off with Joes car not working and he had to spend a whole day off of work messing around with it. On Thurs, Joe and I were supposed to go out to dinner and go Christmas shopping. I was waiting for Jen to come over to babysit, when I get a call from Joe at work telling me that his car is dead and he refuses to put any more money into it. So I drove to get him and we still went out Christmas shopping and to dinner. We discussed that he needed a new car and did not know how. Despite that, we did have a really nice time. It was fun shopping for the kids and Alec was the hardest one to shop for. I still want to get him one or two more things though, as we only got him some really nice wooden blocks, and a Home Depot tool set so far. After shopping we went out to dinner at the Outback and I think we broke just about every rule to eating healthy. Lol. It felt like we young and still dating and the night turned out to be wonderful despite the fact we knew we going to have to get a new car. On Friday, Joe was a little stressed out about what we were going to do for a car so he was a little testy so we had a little bicker session. He called to apologize and told me he was just worried. About 10 minutes after we got off the phone I got a phone call that a family member of Joes had passed away on Thurs evening. I had to call and give him this news and I just wanted to reach out and hold him over the phone. On Friday night Joe ended up getting in a fight with my very best friend (Alecs God-mother) and it was just a very emotional night!! Saturday Joe ended going car shopping and found a car he fell in love with. It is a 2001 hunter green Ford Focus. It is cute and has great gas mileage. We will save about $100.00 a month just in gas every month although, that $100.00 will have to go to a car payment now. Lol It is cute to see him all excited about a car. It has all the extras so he thinks he is this cool hype daddy now. I took Alec for a ride in the car and Alec kept saying “cooooo Cooooollll Daddy car.” Once Joe finally had a car the mood seemed to change and things have been good! “0)

We made it through our Thanksgiving trip and actually it was not bad at all. In fact I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth things went. When Joe got home from work on Wednesday night we did a couple of things around the house and packed Alec up in the car in his pj’s and a big cozy blanket. Before we got on the high-way we stopped off at subway and got some sandwiches for dinner. I could not believe that Alec ate a whole sandwich by himself. He ate so fast and before I knew it the sandwich was gone! I looked for it on the floor and Alec smiled and said “All gone mommy I eat”. On the way up to the Dells Joe and I listened to some music and talked about life in general and Alec listened. LOL He stayed a wake for the entire 3 hour drive up there. He got a little fissy at the end of the car ride, due to be tired and uncomfortable so we put on the Veggie tales CD and sang along with him. We arrived at our hotel about 9:15 and lugged all of our stuff in, only to find out that my parents had left to go to dinner. The people at the front desk would not give us a key so we had to wait around for my parents to get back. That was interesting and a little aggravating but we got over it. When my parents arrived back with JT and Autumn they all wanted to go swimming right away. So, we left Alec with my parents and took the kids down swimming to the water park that is part of the hotel. They played until 11:00 and then we went back up to the room. I was sure I would find Alec sacked out and was surprised to see him wide awake. :o) We had a difficult time getting Alec to sleep in his pack n play but eventually he was so overcome with exhaustion he gave in to sleeping.
The next morning after doughnuts and juice we suited Alec up and took him with us to the water park. As soon as we walked into the pool area his eyes lit up and he darted for the little toddler water slides. As he was walking he slipped and skinned up his knees pretty bad. He looked at his knees, then looked at me and proceeded to walk a little slower to the water slides. For an hour straight he went down the slides and had a great time. He looked like such a big kid going off on his own and coming down the slide. There was on incident where a little boy who was probably about 3 tried to cut in front of him and said “HEY” and pushed is way back in front of the little boy and went down the side. I had to chuckle at that one. You can definitely tell he has older siblings and will stand up to himself. After an hour and 15 min I took Alec up to the room with me to get dressed to go pick up my grandparents. Shortly after I went up to the room, Joe and the other two followed and it was bit busy in the two bedroom suite with my parents and our family. We made the best of it though and got through it. The kids watched the Macy’s parade on Tv while we got ourselves ready. After everyone was ready in and in their nice clothes we headed to the lobby and checked out. The hour long ride to my grandmother’s house was uneventful. When we arrived at my grandmas I was shocked to see how skinny my grandmother and grandfather had become. Alec had a blast walking around and looking at all the duck trinkets around the house. I had a hard time as my grandmothers mind was not like it used to be and she kept calling Alec, Lenny. (my dads name)It was very apparent to me that yes indeed my grandmother has Alzheimer’s. :o( We stayed at the house and visited for about two hours and then we headed up to a lodge where we would eat. I have to admit that it was a beautiful cozy place. There were fire places everywhere and the atmosphere was very relaxing and quiet. Each table had their own turkey and then you went up to a buffet line to get all the extras. The food was delicious and Alec ate like a little piggy. Well, we all did. LOL :o) After dinner we headed home. The kids slept and the ride was very uneventful and went fast.
