November 11-21st
*****Better week****** .
Okay so last week I must have just been really hormonal and feeling a bit sorry for myself. The little boy I baby-sit for has been doing great with cleaning up now and he always helps me out! :O) The system I started for cleaning up a room before leaving it has really helped out and the boys know the routine already! Little ones catch on SO quickly! Plus, having a little more structure during the day and having a little circle time has helped immensely! :o)
******Alecs eating Habits******
The other day I sat and just watched Alec eat his dinner of Chicken, macaroni and cheese and peas. Because I have three children, dinner time is often spent filling up cups, giving everyone seconds, cleaning up messes etc… I never really sat and watched Alec eat. LOL This child eats so neat and never lets a morsel drop. I was entertained by the fact that he got each and every pea onto his little blues Clues fork and ate them one by one. Each noodle was picked up with the fork the same way. It is funny how you never notice things like this unless you make the time to sit down and watch. LOL Alecs current Favorite foods are:
Pancakes, Popcorn, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti with Italian Sausage and cheese.
******Thinking about the Septuplets******
I do not know about anyone else, but I was and still am a follower of the Septuplet story. I always think of them in November because that is when they were born. I was pregnant with Autumn during the time Bobbi was pregnant and my heart just went out to her. I loved the fact that they brought God into every interview etc they did. :o) I have both books they released plus the lullaby Cd is wonderful and Alec still listens to it at bed time.
I watched the dateline special on the Septuplets last night and they were absolutely beautiful. I only got to watch about half the program though because my VCR wigged while taping. Arrrggg
*****Getting into the kitchen cabinets and onto the counters******
Every time I turn around and leave the room for one second I am always welcomed back into the kitchen with Cereal all over the floor or an apple with two bites taken out of it. Little Alec LOVES to get into the cabinets now and climb up on to the counters. LOL He has mastered the kiddie lock and laughs when I shut the door and he opens it back up quicker then I could. This has me a little worried about a Christmas tree this year. I can just picture walking out to the family room and seeing my two year old hanging from the tree saying “Light mommy Light! “ He is a little monkey and it is just another sign of my baby getting older! :o(
******* $$$$$$*******
Why is it every time you get a little ahead finically, something goes wrong? Last Sunday we noticed that the furnace room smelled a little funny so Joe tried to change the filter and clean it out a little to see if that was the problem ( we had put off getting the furnace cleaned this fall) Well, by the end of the day the furnace was making a funny sound and then it stopped. We did not have heat! Not good on a fall day in Illinois. We kept a fire in the fireplace and called a friend of the family Monday morning. He could not come out until Monday evening because he was working all day (and he was going to give us a deal on the side and not charge us the company price). I had a fire going all day and bundled the kids up in warm sweatshirts and we were okay. G game over at 6:00 and fixed the furnace motor and cleaned out the furnace for a very good deal. However, we could have used the extra couple hundred dollars for Christmas gifts for the kids this year. We will manage though and God will provide for us. It is just a little frustrating while it is happening.
******Church Pre-school******
Today (Sunday) Alec would not stay in his Preschool class at church. We actually had our # flashed on the screen during the service and Joe went to go get him. He brought him back into the service and we sat in the very back. I did not get much out of the service because I was making sure Alec was happy and not making a lot of noise. Thankfully, we have a Love Feast this evening and we will get to hear the pastor speak again. I am really looking forward to this dinner as it will be our first church event we will attend outside of church. Joe and I have decided to become official members of this church and are also looking into having the kids dedicated.
****Church Dinner******
We had a blast at the church dinner and I felt an overpowering feeling of family and closeness while we ate and celebrated the Lord with everyone around us. I was brought to tears by many of the statements people made about what the Lord has done for them. The thing’s the Lord has given me in the past year is amazing and I am so grateful for his love and to know him. The dinner took place at Wheaton college because our church is not yet done being built. (We currently have out services in the auditorium of the high school I graduated from.) The dinner was served buffet style and there was plenty to choose from, Turkey and pasta dish, meatloaf, potatoes, green beans, chicken strips for the kids, waffles fries, tons of deserts and I am sure I am missing a few things. After the dinner the children were taken into a room and watched movies and played games while the adults worshiped for an hour. The young man who led us in singing that evening was amazing and I was brought to tears as he started to sing Amazing Grace and all of us joined in. We had a wonderful time.
*****Christmas Pictures*****
Last night (20th) I got all the kids dressed up and took them over to where I go for my Wen night bible study to get Christmas Pictures done. (A photographer came to her home and had a huge photo shoot for all the girls families in the bible study)The kids looked amazing and Alec looked absolutely adorable. That is until it was time to take pictures. He started to throw a tantrum and wanted nothing to do with getting pictures done. :o( I ended up just saying forget it and taking him home. I will just make an appointment at Sears for this weekend and try again. :O(
