Alec is doing wonderful adjusting to our new lifestyle of being home all the time. :o) Him and Zachary have been playing together so nicely and it makes me very happy. :o)
~*~*~*~NAP/BED TIME SCHEDULES~*~*~*~*~
Alec is now getting a nap at 12:30-1:00 instead of 2:00-2:30 and this is working out very nicely. He takes a three hour nap and wakes in a great mood. When he was taking naps at 2:00 in the afternoon I would have to take him out of the car seat because he would fall asleep on the way home from work. He would wake up and fuss a little and then go back to sleep. He would sleep until 4:30-5:00 and then when it was bedtime at 8:30 it was really hard for him. Bed time is a little easier now and he sleeps in every morning and gets up at his own pace and is in the BEST mood! :O) It make for a much smoother morning and everything is calm.
~*~*~*~VISIT TO THE CHILD CENTER~*~*~*~
Yesterday (10/9) after Zachary left for the day I went to go workout and put the kids in the child center. Alec had a blast and played with his friend Tommy who he had formed a close bond with while I worked there. Tommy is the same age as Alec and in the last 3-4 months they really started playing together. I only worked out for a short time because I was not feeling that great. I think I have another cold or sinus infection coming on. Ugh. Anyway, the kids stayed in the center for about an hour and a half and Alec did not have any problems leaving. :o) While I was there my feelings of leaving were confirmed. I was so happy to be a member there and not an employee. :o) I was toying around with the idea of filling shifts for people… I now know I do NOT want to do even that! I will keep my membership as long as I keep using the facility but I really do not want to work there at all anymore.
~*~*~*~* DADDIES LAST SOFTBALL GAME~*~*~*~
Last night (10/9) I said the heck with it to the bed time routine and decided to let the kids have a special night. I put everyone’s Pj’s on and put on the coats and we headed over to Joes last softball game. The kids were excited to watch a late game under the lights. :o) Alec was a little fidgety and I had to give in and let him cookies so he would sit still and not fuss. He was over tired but I wanted Joe to see us come to a game. The game was over by 9:00 and when we got home at 9:15 Alec went straight to bed and fell asleep almost instantly. :O)
~*~*~*~*~ THE BINKY (nuk paci.. whatever you want to call it) IS BACK!~*~*~*~
Okay, when I was young (18-19 years old) and not very smart I passed judgment on the mothers who had 2-3 year olds running around with binks in their mouths. I would say
“Why can’t they just take it away and be done with it!” “There is no excuse for him or her to have that in their mouth!” All I can say is…. Silly, Silly me! What goes around come around is a phrase to live by! Alec has once again discovered this wonderful little pieace of silicon that is fun to suck and chew on the bottom of a toy basket. He now has to have it ALL the time. Am I a bad mom for not really stealing it away and giving into this? After all, he may be my last baby…why not let him hold onto babyhood a little while longer right? I am in no rush for him to get rid of it. I called two different dentist offices and asked them if I should worry. They both had the same response. “ If he is not off of it by 3 years then you need to start taking it away a little at a time.” They also said if I make a big deal about taking it away now that is just going to cause stress in his young little life.. Why do that? It is not going to hurt his teeth so I should not worry Right? Well that is all for today! :o)
SAND PLUS TWO YEAR OLDS + SANDBOX= ONE BIG MESS!!!
Alec discovered the sandbox with Zachary this week! The played so nice in the sandbox with all the alligators and animals Jt had left in there. I swear they played for over an hour! They kept giggling and loved the feel of the sand slipping through their little fingers. However, Alec also liked to throw the sand behind him (at least it was not at each others face right? ) and dump it over his head! Why he liked to this is beyond me, but I guess it is just a kid thing. When it was time to go inside I was quickly slapped with the reality that this was not going to be a quick brush off effort on my part to get the sand off. UP to the tub the boys went. It took me 20 minutes to rinse all the sand out of Alecs hair! Now, just imagine a squirmy two year old who hates to get his hair rinsed ONCE during bath time, and I had to dump water over his head too many times to count! Poor baby was pleading “no mommy, pleeeeease no more”. Later that afternoon I let the kids back outside to play and where do you think my sweet little boy went to play? LOL Yup~ The good ol sandbox! :o)
SCRAPBOOKING
Now that I have gotten completely up to date on Alecs Scrap book I have started a couple new scrapbook projects but the one I am really focusing on getting caught up is our Family Christmas Album. I want to be all caught up by this Christmas so every year I will just have to do a couple pages to stay up to date! It is going to take a ton of hard work to get it all caught up by this Christmas but a couple late nights will do it!
10/14~ I am so happy I got 19 pages done in our Christmas Album! Wooohooo
VEGGIE TALES MOVIE
We took the kids to see the Veggie tales movie last night ( 10/13). I felt so bad because Alec did not get much of a nap all day and on the way to the theater he fell asleep. Then he slept through the first hour of the movie. When he woke up he was so excited about the movie. When the movie was over shortly after he woke up, He kept asking “Where Movie go mommy? “.
HAIR CUTS
Daddy gave the boys Haircuts this weekend and Alec looks so adorable with his big kid hair cut.J.T. and Alec have the same hair cut and both had the front spiked up yesterday.
That is all for this week~
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DADDY TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
