Okay Well in my last entry I talked abut how I was so excited that Autumn was going to be in a private preschool learning through a church. Well, I went to a meet the teacher night on Monday and walked away from it very confused and disappointed. The teacher seemed to be very …spacey? When I went to talk to her about Autumns Chronic Kidney infections she said “Oh yeah, yeah yeah,,,so she goes to the bathroom a lot” The she just walked away from me and talked to another parent. I think my jaw must have hit the floor. I got the impression that she just did not care about the severity of what I was telling her. I sat with what happened for a day and the next day I called up her old preschool and asked if they had any openings. They said Of course they would take Autumn back. I was so happy to hear that. Last Thursday I took Autumn in to meet up with her old classmates from last year at a open house. Everyone was so happy to see Autumn and all the kids wanted to play with her. She is quite the little popular one.:o) I have just decided to throw in more of a bible study in the evening for the kids and see how this works. I know it is not the same as getting an education at a private school but we will have to work with it and this is what God had planned for us otherwise it would not be happening to us. Autumn starts her first day back at school on Wen and she is very excited to be back with her old teacher. Academically Autumn is doing Awesome at home. She can write her name very neatly and she is starting to sound out words and recognize them in books. The only thing I think may pose a bump in the road is she seems to have a little speech problem. She has a slight lisp and everyone always jokes that she talks as if she is guy from New York (that is NOT a BAD thing). Like she says Hey Moder instead of Mother or she says “Go Over Dare “ I may have her speech evaluated later this year.
Last Saturday we went to the Naperville Last Fling and Emily followed Autumn around everywhere and of course Autumn was very happy with this arrangement. She loves to know that other children like her. We had a great time and had a wonderful pizza dinner.
UPDATE ON AUTUMNS MEDICAL TESTS
Autumn had the voiding cytogram (think that is the name) and she did wonderful .The nurse that worked with her was amazing and helped Autumn and myself feel very comfortable. They brought Autumn back to a room with toys and bed. She immediately went and played while the nurse and I talked about her history. The nurse then gave Autumn a small amount of anesthetic We could not believe how quickly it worked and I could not help but crack up at how she was acting. Right after she had the drug to drink she said “Mommy. I have to go potty.” I went in with her and she said “Mommy, I need my pwifacy please stand outside and close the dwar” ( No these are not spelling errors, that is how she talks) I am standing outside the door when I hear a thump and then I hear Autumn cracking up. I open the door to see my little girl lying on the bathroom floor, underwear around her ankles and looking up at the lights thinking something is so hilarious. I pick her up and she is like a noodle and can not stop laying. “Mommy. You have two heads…goof ball” The nurse then stuck the catheter in and we got her ready for the test. She was great for the test and while we were waiting for the Dr come to talk to us she started coming back to her normal self. Dr N said that Autumn does still have reflux in one of her ureaturs but right now he wants to wait a couple of months to see if she gets anymore infections. She will continue to be on Bactrium every other day until we take her to see him 3months from now. I am glad he does not want to surgery again yet I am kind of frustrated as well, I just want her to be well and not suffer with anymore infections. I worry about her kidneys and any future problems that may arise. Yes, I am a constant worry wart.
Well that is all for now. I am really tired and it is way past my bed time! :o)
