This past week has been full of every day normal events.
We have started a very strict new bed time routine that seems to be back firing on us. Joe and I told ourselves that we were going to make sure the kids brushed their teeth, had a bath, read to them and got into bed and said their prayers all before 8:00. Well, we have been trying really hard but it is not working with Alec.Because of my work schedule and picking Jt up from school Alec ends up not taking his nap until 2:30. Then he gets up around 4:30 and then we race to eat dinner then get Jt to football practice.By the time we get home and sit down it is time for you to get ready for bed. It feels as though we are not spending time like we should be with you .Alec is such an easy child though and does not complain about anything. He sits in his little toddler bed and reads a Blues Clues book and talks to Jt until about 10:00! Then in the morning he seems so tired. I am going to have to do some re arranging of our schedule and see what happens. I am thinking I will just keep Alec up with us until 9:00 or until JT falls asleep so you guys don't keep one another up.
This past weekend was so lovely and I felt so relaxed. We did not have to go anywhere or do anything. We just sat at home and did nothing together. Alec played with his trains and took two really good naps. It felt nice to just spend time with our family. It has been months since we did that and that is one of the things I love about the winter months. You do that kind of family togetherness more often. :o)
Today when we went to pick Jt up from school Alec picked up two crayons from the seat and said "Blue Mommy .... Purple Mommy" I don't know if it was a Lucky guess or not but I was so impressed that he knew the colors. I am such a proud mommy Huh? I need to sit down with him more though one on one and read books and do coloring and counting. I feel he gets lost in the shuffle sometimes. Can you tell I am feeling a little festering quilt about this?? It keep popping up in my mind.
The Birthday Invitations will be sent out on Friday and all the plans have been written down. I have a couple of games we are going to play and we are going to have a picnic style lunch and then open gifts and have cake. Then the quests can go off on their own in the Flower Gardens and over by the tank exhibits. I plan to make it an all day thing for our family and I pray the weather is nice for the occasion or everyone will be at my house. Call me a grump, or a party pooper but I just hate having all the family at my rinky dinky house. I spend all day cleaning and then the house is TRASHED after everyone leaves. Aaaaaaggggg It just gets to me. I do not mind having my monthly scrapbooking workshops because everyone is sitting and throwing stuff away like they should. It just seems as though family parties are so stressful on my and I don't get to enjoy the day like I would if it was not at my house. LOL Sorry to go on a little self pity vent.
It will be a big day for my little guy and I am sure he will have a wonderful time and that is all that matters. :o)
I need to figure out what to get him for his birthday and I need to do it quickly. His real birthday is next Sunday! Yikes.... I am sure you will be reading a long sappy letter for next weeks entry. I also do not think I am going to finish his baby Album like I had planned by his B-day! :O( I will try...but I doubt it.
When I took Autumn into 4 YRO preschool registrations today the teachers said "Oh ,Alec will be here next year! " I said "Oh My goodness you are right? Although he won't be 3 until Sept 8th and the cutoff is the 1st? " They said they would take him as long as he was potty trained. I just don't know how I feel about my BABY being in Preschool next year! That just seems to soon??? EEEEKKKKK...
Well that is all for now
God Bless
Tanya and Alec
