*J.t.’s Birthday Celebrations*
Well, I made it through another one of my children getting a year older on me. I swear it gets harder every year. On Wednesday (23rd) I went out and got the bike Jt had been eyeing for the last couple of months. I could not wait to see his face when he opened it. Joe and I had decided that afternoon we would give him his gift that evening for two reasons. #1.) Joe had a presentation he had to give at school on Thursday and would not be home until late. #2.) We could not wait to give it to him. When Joe got home he decided to put the bike together before we gave it to Jt so I had to do my best to keep the kids occupied in the house. Which was not an easy task; because they knew Daddy was out there doing something. Plus, it was beautiful outside and they wanted to play. We made it though and Joe came in and told Jt that he had left his (other) bike outside and needed to clean it up. When he opened the door his brand new shiny blue bike was waiting for him. He got this HUGE smile on his face and asked if he could take a spin. At first he was a little wobbly on it but after about 5 minutes he got the hang of it and was comfortable. When it was time for bed Jt told me that he was very happy and that he loved me very much. It was the best birthday gift. He went to sleep with a smile on his face. After he fell asleep I worked on his cupcakes to take to his class the next day as Joe and I watched Extreme Makeovers… Weird show! ? LOL
On Thursday, I was sure to greet Jt with a “Happy Birthday” and he walked over to me on the couch and we cuddled for a couple for minutes. I closed my eyes and savored that moment as it was very special to me. Jt was excited about going to school and sharing treats with everyone. He was out the door and waiting to leave for school, which NEVER happens.
I had intended on making a baseball hat cake for Jt that was featured in the “Parents” magazine but after I searched 3 stores for 3 boxes of pound-cake I gave up and just got a cake from Jewel. I told Jay-man he could have anything he wanted for dinner and that GOOF ball insisted on Ramen noodles!? I swear he would eat them every night if I gave him the chance. At about 7 my parents and Joes mom came over for some cake and to give his gifts. He got a great play station 2 game from Joes mom and he got a pair of those shoes with wheels that pop out the bottom and a street hockey set from my parents. To sat J.T. lucked out this year on Birthday gifts would be an understatement. He was very thankful for everything he got and is still thanking us for his bike.
On Sunday, we went over to Gabby’s and Papa Joes (Joe’s dad) house for another Birthday celebration. There were tons of great food and of course a couple presents for J.t. He got a Lego, monster making kit that the boys (Jt, Daddy and Papa Joe) played with for most of the time. He also got a card with some money from Grandma W that he plans to use too buy a new PS2 game with.
*Baseball Updates*
On Saturday Jt had his first baseball game of the year. I was unable to make it because I had a Creative Memories Workshop I had to set up for, but I heard all about it. Joe walked in and had a huge grin on his face and told me that Jt had gotten a double play in the game and did wonderful. For the rest of the day Jt was tossing a ball around with Alec and at my walls in the house (aaccckk). I think I am going to wiping up scuff marks and hearing the music of balls bouncing off walls for the next 15-16 years. LOL
On Monday night J.t had another game that I was able to attend. He looks so great out there and several parents commented on how great Jt is doing this year and how much more attentive he seems to be out there. He hit off of the pitched every time and did not use the T once. He also caught a line drive and tagged someone out at second. Can you tell I am a little proud? LOL
*Autumn Update*
On the 24th Autumn went to work with Daddy and had a wonderful time. She was quite the charmer and had everyone just loving her the entire time. Am I surprised?? Nope, not a bit. LOL Autumn has this charm about her that makes everyone just love her. Yes, I am her mother and I am supposed to say that, but just ask anyone who meets her. They will tell you the same thing.:o) Going to work with Daddy was a surprise so when I woke my sleepy head up and got her all dressed up in nice “office” clothes she was a little confused. I put her in a pair of really cute boot leg black dress pants and her black and white shirt with the nice collar and special sleeves. As she drove off with Daddy she looked so excited. The next time I saw her, daddy was carrying her in sleeping. Working with daddy all day is really tiring. LOL She had a great time and told me daddy plays at a computer all day, and eats. LOL (They had a special lunch for the kids)
*Alec Update*
Alec continues to charm us and now SCREAMS if he catches a glimpse of his underwear. I have tried to pull them out every once and a while to see if he is ready. He screams, runs away saying “No No Noooooo Mommy NO” So, I guess he is not ready.*sigh*
The last two days I have taken the kids to the petting zoo by our house and Alec is fascinated with all the animals. He will point and say “Mommy Bird” or “Mommy LOOK Piggy.. oink oink”
I have learned the trick to getting Alec to take a nice long nap in the afternoon and that is a really DARK room. We just got a new shade for the boy’s room that makes the room quiet dark. Every afternoon Alec will go right down and sleep for about 2 hours. Wooohoo I need those two hours. Lol
*Other stuff*
Joe just got some discouraging news this morning at work. Two of his co-workers were laid off last night and Joe’s position was changed. Luckily, it was a lateral move and does not really affect too much, other then the fact he now has more people reporting to him. This does put a little worry in my mind though ( read…Stress!) and hopefully we will not be affected much more by it. I feel terrible for the other two people who did get laid off and will keep them in my prayers.
*Movie Review*
40 days and 40 nights ~ this movies was funny, however I felt a little uncomfortable watching it at times.
Maid in Manhattan~ It was cute but I yawned a couple time through out the movie. Very Pretty Women-ish. It was not a waste but I am glad I rented it and did not go to the theater to see it.
