Tanyab's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 19, 2003

Okay, so I have decided to write another journal entry before I put up J.T.’s Birthday entry.

*J.T.’s Surprise*
Tuesday, Joe decided to surprise J.T. and he picked him up from school early and they went to a Cubs game with my dad. At first I was not crazy about pulling J.T. out of school for half a day, when he will be missing so many days when we go on vacation. I did not want to stomp on Joe’s happiness though, so I said okay.
J.T. went to school in the morning and I did not send him with a lunch. I wrote his teacher a note, put it in an envelope and handed it to J.T. I told him that it was VERY important he give his teacher this note and not to loose it. I walked him up to the front door of the school and watched him walk in with the note in hand.
As I was walking in the door I heard J.t. leaving a message on the answering machine.” Mommy, you forgot to pack my lunch.” I had to lie and tell him that I would walk it over at lunch time. Well, of course Joe was running late as usual and I got another phone call at about 11:15 . J.T. was in lunch (already!?) and did not have a lunch. I had to kind of blow it, and tell him to sit tight; daddy was going to be there soon. Then a very grumpy receptionist came on the phone and I tried to explain to her that he was leaving for a half a day and his dad would be there shortly. I then heard her snap at J.T. and say “ J.T. you did not tell me you were leaving early!” I had to jump in and tell her (in a snotty tone back) that J.T. had no idea that he was going to be picked up early, it was a surprise. I also told her that J.T. had brought in a note this morning for his teacher. All the sudden she was cheerful and nice to me. We did discover that the note never made it to his teacher though. :o( *sigh* Anyhoo, Joe picked up J.T. and then they were off to the cubs game. You could not ask for a more beautiful day to go to a Baseball game. It was sunny, warm with a little breeze and just completely gorgeous outside! I will admit that I was jealous I was not going to the game and had to stay home. I made the best of it though, and played outside all day with the little ones. After all the day care kids left, I had to run out to Barnes and Nobles to pick up my dad’s birthday gift. It was a challenge taking Autumn and Alec with no stroller, but we made it. I resisted the urge to buy a couple books, on vacationing in Disney and only walked out with a Hard Cover Cubs encyclopedia for my dad. Shortly after we got home, Joe, my dad and J.T. got home from the game. J.T. had the cutest smile stuck on his face and was wearing a batting glove Joe had gotten him. He looked SO happy. :o) Cubs won….11-1 and J.T. got to see Sammy hit another home run! Joe said it was one of the best games he has been to.

*Out to Dinner*
When the guys got back from the game we went straight out to dinner for my dad’s birthday. We went to my new favorite restaurant, Prairie Rock. I must explain that my dad is so cute and will NEVER go out to eat anywhere, if he does not have a coupon from those entertainment coupon books in it. When I suggested this restaurant, he went to look it up in the book and then approved my choice. LOL So, we get to the restaurant and get seated outside on the porch . It was a beautiful night, however the wind was starting to pick up a little and the kids coloring sheets were flying everywhere so we asked to be seated in the dining room. The waitress looked as if we slapped her in the face when we moved. She had only served us our drinks and was not very personable, so I did not feel bad for her as she sat and glared at us each time she came back inside. The dinner was wonderful and the kids were wonderfully behaved. The waitress we had inside was great and brought the kids meals out as we were between appetizers and our main meal. Then, while we were eating our main meal, she brought out their ice cream Sundae plates to keep them busy. We left her nice tip and thanked her as we left.

*Babysitting and Friends*
I can really see a great friendship forming with *z*’s mom. She is a great person and we have a lot of the same views on several things. We have been talking more and more when she comes to pick *z* up and we have even called each other on the phone from time to time. I feel so bad for her, because she is pregnant with twins and they messed up on her due date by 3 weeks and she thought she would have had these babies a long time ago!(that is the reason I did not go out by Allisun for the get together :o(, because I wanted to be here to help Angie out and watch *z* )
She is hoping to go in this weekend, and I am saying prayers for her. She is so uncomfortable and I can tell she just wants this pregnancy to be over with. She was also told that she was having a boy and a girl. At the same ultrasound they found out she was not as far along as she thought, she was also told that she is having TWO boys. :o)

I still LOVE doing in home daycare and the kids are all such great friends now and I Love to watch them. Now that we have been spending more time outside the kids are all in such great moods all of the time and they take wonderful naps because they get so tired from playing hard outside.

*Easter Plans*
Our Easter plans are pretty busy this year. We will go to church at about 10:30 and then stop off at home for about an hour. Then we will go to Joe’s sister’s house at 2:00. At about 4:30 we will have to leave to go meet my parents for dinner. I am sure I will be dragging Monday morning, but that’s okay.
The Easter Bunny is not a huge deal at our house (he comes, but it’s not the focus of the day), but the holiday itself is. The kids know why we have Easter and what we are celebrating. As we dye Easter eggs this evening, we will talk about the story of Jesus and watch a movie we have about it. The kids will get an Easter basket tomorrow morning filled with bible coloring books, a little bit of candy and we found a great deal on scooters so we decided to throw those in there to. (They were originally 80.00 and we got them for 15.95… you can’t pass that one up. They are the kind you can fold up and take places.) Alec is getting a little Sing along tape recorder because he is to small for the scooters. I think the Easter bunny will hide some plastic eggs with money and jelly beans in them.

*Take your child to work day*
Since Joe had a special day with J.T. this week he is going to take Autumn to work on Wen for “Take your child to work day”. She has no idea and will be so excited. I am sure she will be receiving tons of attention at his daddies work and he will not get any work done. I have to remember to get film so Joe can take the camera to work and get some cute pictures. To bad I can’t get him to take Alec too and then have a quiet day to myself. LOL J/J I can just imagine what a TWO year old would do over there. Ha. All those computers and different offices to run into,. For some reason the movie “Babies Day out” pops into my mind.

Well that is about all for now. I have a GREAT entry all typed out and ready for my first entry over at Mom’s today when it happens. :o)

I updated the kid’s websites…. There are a lot of cute baby pictures of Autumn and J.T on their pages. Come take a look and sign their guest books
