A quote by Dr. James Dobson
There is no higher calling in life than the
task of bearing and raising the children
whom God has trusted to our care.
We are given a few brief years to love
and guide them and instill the
values in which we believe.
Then suddenly, the children are grown
and have families of their own.
What endures for mothers and
fathers after that moment of release
is a precious museum of memories
to be enjoyed for the rest of their lives

Well, I have to express my disappointment in this entry. I have been holding off on doing an entry for over a week now, because I was told a couple times that my diary would be moved to Moms today. I understand that this site is very big and there are many things to keep up and do. However, I asked several times and was even told to hold off on writing my entry because my diary would be moved shortly. *Sigh* I appreciate all the hard work…but I do feel a bit frustrated. Okay, now that I have that off my chest I can move on with an entry.
It is APRIL already???????The time change has left me feeling tired and a bit out of it. This happens to me every time we change the clocks and I don’t know why. My mom has told me when I was a child I would torture her for a week with a bad mood when the clocks changed. It seems that Autumn has taken on this trait as well, and seems to be in a really foul mood the last couple of days. She is a bit testy and more mouthy then usual. Pair that with my bad mood and it does not make for a very pleasant mix.
Last week, we spent Mon, Tues and Wen at the park all day. I would pack the kids sack lunches, put the boys in the wagon and then we would to the park. After lunch we would come back and the kids all took GREAT naps. :o) After nap time we would head back outside in the front yard and play with sidewalk chalk, bikes and other outside activities. It was 75 degrees and absolutely beautiful outside. The sun was shining, the grass was turning green, and flowers were blooming. On Thursday and Friday it was a little chilly and raining. I love thunderstorms in the Spring and was enjoying the lightening and thunder. Well…… I believe that was a cruel joke being played on us because on Saturday it was REALLY cold outside and the wind was really picking up. Sunday it was even cooler and we even had a fire going in the fireplace in the evening. This morning I woke up to about 3 inches of SNOW covering the ground! Ugh…
I WANT SPRING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wwwaaaahhhh Okay enough of the whining. Lol
Well, I got my hair cut (the url to the style I picked is in my last entry) on Saturday and I have to say that I LOVE it! It only takes me minutes to do it in the morning and it looks much thicker. I was crazy and took all three of the kids with me when I went to the salon. The lady who was cutting my hair was VERY aggravated with the fact they were with me. :o( They were pretty well behaved and I was upset that I got the attitude I did. This weekend my sister is going to dye my hair darker blonde and then add some lighter blonde highlights. I can’t wait to see the end result. :O)
*Autumn*
Autumn had her 5 year old/kindergarten physical on Saturday. My little girl is growing like a weed She is 43 inches tall and 43 pounds. She was really brave for her 3 shots and tb test. She tried so hard not to cry, but when I told her it was ok to cry she let out a very loud scream. Her arm is still a little tender but she had no other side effects.
Autumn has been really GREAT about keeping her room clean. Every night before she goes to bed she straightens up and then asks me to check it with her. I then help her straighten a couple things and it only take minutes verses the hour I took every other day.
*Jt*
Baseball season has started and now our house is full of bats, gloves, balls, etc. Unfortunately, Jt was supposed to have practice today and there is snow on the ground so it has been called off. :o( Over the weekend Jt and Joe watched the cubs games and even went out in the cold to practice pitching. Poor Jt caught the ball with his face after about 20 mins of practice so they decided to call it day. He has a nice bruise on his cheek now and looks like he got beat up. Poor guy.
J.T. had another WONDERFUL report card! I already sent it back to school so I am unable to write down all his grades. I am happy to report that they were all 1’s and 2 +’s. A lot of grades went up and he was extremely proud of himself. To celebrate his good grades we said we would take him to Chunky Cheese on Saturday! (they give free tokens for good grades.) When we arrived at CC on Satuday I knew right away that it was going to be an interesting experience. Alec was trying to wiggle out of my arms from the moment we walked into the place and SCREAMED when I put him the highchair to eat. We were lucky enough to get the last table available in the eating area and we waited for our pizza to arrive. Jt was very patient and told us about all the games he planned to try. After dinner Jt , Joe and Autumn went off and played every game in the place. LOL
I struggled with Alec and felt as though I were being tortured. It was so busy in there and the older kids were so rough and rude. The parents were just all sitting and talking as their children ran wild throughout the place. I even saw little ones Alec’s age unsupervised. The little ones would just cut in front of me when Alec was waiting for a ride and then when I would say “ It is his turn.” they would just stare at me like they did not understand me and dump token after token into the ride. I wanted to just take them off the ride and take them to their parents but of course, I just walked away and said nothing. We stayed there for about 2 and a half hours, then I had enough. It will be a LONG time before we go back. Oh I forgot to mention that I had the salad bar for dinner, which was actually really fresh and good, however there was this older women who kept going up there and picking things out of there with her fingers. Then she sent her grandchild up there to load up her plate (not a Salad bar plate). When she was confronted by the manger she said she did not understand English and kept going back up there and picking with her fingers. Ugh

If I want it, it's mine.
If I give it to you, and change my mind later, it's mine.
If I take it away from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If it's mine, it will never belong to anyone else, no matter what.
If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine, it is mine.
Last Thursday, silly me decided I wanted a little quiet when I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I said "Bye-Bye Alec mommy has to go potty and take a shower" and shut the door. Well I come out and I am greeted with Alec holding a huge EMPTY pitcher that had been full of grape juice before I went to take my 5 min shower. His toes and face were a bright purple. He was standing there saying "Oppsssiiieee Daiseeeee's mommy... I soweeeeee mommy..." I went down stairs and was greeted with my wood floors covered in little puddles of juice, as well as the carpet we had under our coffee table.(rug went into the garbage.) The coffee table was covered in a sheet of the sticky stuff. WhenI walked to the kitchen I was greeted by a lake of purple juice (this was a gallon size pitcher full to the top by the way. ) seeping under my fridge. Lovley huh? The great thing about this entire story is I have a fridge lock and J.T forgot to lock it back up after he got himself milk! :O) I smile now.... but let me tell you... I was not smiling then. Ha
Well I better run and get some cleaning done. I apologize this entry skips around a bit. I will include some things I wrote last week and are old news now. LOL

~Out to eat with Joe~
On Friday I got my girlfriend Jen to watch the kids and made an effort to have a night out with Joe. I was not pleased with his less then enthusiastic attitude about the surprise but I did my best. Of course Joe was stuck at work and ended up meeting me at Jens house at about 6:45. We headed off to go look for a new couch. We sold our big ugly sectional that was only 3 years old because we were tired off all the space it took it up. We were on a mission to find the perfect couch and I was bound and determined to go home with some idea of what kind of couch we would be getting. We tried one local furniture store and as soon as I walked in all the sales people flocked us. I can’t STAND this and I was immediately turned off. I may come off sounding a bit snobbish here but all the stuff looked really cheap and I could not see myself buying anything there. Even the lamps looked like they were cheap. So, off we went to try out my favorite store.… Ikea. :o)
Joe did not think he would find a couch he was crazy about there because we have looked in the past. However, we were always there with kids or in a hurry to pick the kids up from the play land so we could not take our time. I asked him to give a chance as I had picked out a couple I liked the last time we were there. It did not take long to find the perfect couch for us. The Ektopia( I think is the name) and it was so comfortable. There were not many colors to choose from so we settled on the natural beige looking color with the lighter piping around the edges. I immediately loved it and Joe was a quick sell on it as soon as sat down. The really funny thing is we walked around some more and picked out some bookcases we liked that went well with the coffee table we got. We start to leave and we are looking at all the setups they have and we were surprised to see a set up with EVERYTHING we had picked out for out living room. Our living room was sitting in the store. There were also the sage green walls like ours. It was meant to be. Lol :o) As soon as Joe gets his bonus check we will be off to get our new couch and entertainment centre. Woohoo After the trip to Ikea I culd tell Joe’s mood was lightening up a bit and he was not so distant. We chatted in the car about several different things and tried to come up with a plan for dinner. I was in the mood for seafood so we tried Joes Crab shack. That idea was quickly stomped on when I was told it was a hour and half wait! Eccckkk Now way could my growling stomach take that. Joe told me about a great brewery by his work so we drove over there. I don’t know if anyone has Prairie Rock restaurant/brewery by you but oh my goodness let me just tell you, this was the BEST meal I have EVER had.
~Saturday night girls night out~
Last Saturday night I had one of the best times I have had in a long time. My friend Anese (who I baby-sit for and is my life coach) invited a bunch of her friends over for appetizers, drinks and a coaching workshop. Right before I left I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with life in general and had a minor spat with Joe. All of the sudden he was upset that I was going out that evening and wanted to know where Anese lived, what time I would be home? Etc etc… I was a bit perturbed by his questioning due to the fact that he is ALWAYS out. Between, work ,school, study group for school every Saturday morning, coaching Jt’s baseball and football, his two softball leagues in the summer and his fantasy football meetings in the fall… oh yeah and his Bears season tickets!!! I did not really think he has ANY room to give me a hard time. So anyway, I got myself all ready, gave the kids a kiss and said hello to my freedom for one evening. When I first arrived at Anese’s house I was a little nervous because I tend to be a bit shy when I first meet new people. Anese did a GREAT job of making me feel very comfortable and I almost immediately felt great and it was wonderful to get out of the house. We munched on a spectacular array of food and chatted about many things, such as what we did for a living, the war and several other adult (non-kiddy related…. not adult, adult topics…lol) topics. I had a Margarita and felt even more at ease and comfortable. After out stomach were full we all went to sit in the living room and got comfortable. Anese started her workshop and I was amazed at what I took away from that evening. The Workshop was about claiming what’s yours.” Making friends with your inner Critic.” We reached in ourselves and identified what we want and then what we needed to get there. This coaching continues to amaze me and I wish that more people were exposed to it. It has changed my life/attitude SO much! :O) If you want to look at a really cool website about coaching I will post it at my TTM board. I am not trying to push anything… I just think it is so wonderful and wanted to open this option up to you. Okay, enough of that… The entire time I was there, I did not worry about the kids or Joe. I took this time for myself and enjoyed every single moment and in no way did I feel guilty about it… aaaaahhhh I deserved it! :O) At about 10:00 everyone was leaving so I followed to crowd and if I did not have someone parked behind me I would have stayed longer. I was in no hurry to get home. I was in such a great mood though that the disaster sitting my living room had not effect on me. I just cleaned it up and daydreamed about what a great night I had. The negative gremlin (coaching term) was put away in the closet for the night! Wooohooo
I made a promise to myself to get a night out for myself much more often. I think I will invite some girls over to my house in the next month or so.
