Tis’ the season for Tax returns la la la la la la la… This year we used some of our tax return money to buy our Airline tickets for our vacation to Florida in May. We got a super deal with American Airlines and are very pleased with the price.).We had a little money left over so off we went to Ikea! We got a couple things for the house and I did not want to leave that place. We found the bedroom set we want, the couch and the coffee table we want. We did end up getting an end table that matches the coffee table we will eventually get. I played a trick on Joe as I begged for us to get the end table. I knew that when we got home and set up the end table he would be more eager to go back and get the other stuff…lol. I was right and now he can’t wait to go back. We just need to win the lottery! Ha ha
We also FINALLY got a new computer screen! Jt had poured water over our nice one about a month ago. We were using this little dinky monitor that was more hassle then it was worth. We would have to spend an extra 5 minutes booting up the computer each time and I could only see half of what I was typing! Anyway, we did not spend a ton of money on a new monitor in case something like this happens again, but we did get one with a flat screen. :o) Much nicer!
Autumn is staring to get into musicals now and sings to the soundtrack from Annie and sounds so cute. I went on our Netflix account and rented a ton of musicals for her and I to watch. I hope she enjoys them and if she does I will eventually buy them for her so she can have her own collection. Of course, I did not get around to signing her up for dance this weekend like I said I was going to. Argggg. I will call around tomorrow and see what I can find.
We had an issue this week with Autumn being a little bully to *G* when I was not around. *G* mom told me on Thurs that *G* had told her Autumn was taking her toys away from her and not being very nice when I would turn my back. So, I had a talk with Autumn with *G* there and told her she has to share and be nice. She felt bad and tried really hard not cry but could not hold back the tears. For the remainder of the day she was very nice to *G* and continued to be nice on Friday. Hopefully, this good behavior continues and we do not have any more issues arise. I just have to keep a better eye on her because, she was being mean when they were up in her room playing and I could not see them. I don’t know why she has started to act up that way?? She was never mean to any other kids and is always very loving and sweet. Maybe it is the age? Maybe it was just a bad week?
Jt is all signed up for baseball already and we just have to drop off the check. Then we have to turn around and register him for football already?? Seems a little early to me but I guess they have their reasons. To be honest, I can’t wait for baseball season to start. Jt comes home from school and him and his friends run around the house playing football or catch all afternoon. I feel as if I am constantly tripping over them or telling them to be careful. I love that everyone likes to come to our house and play because then I don’t have to worry about where Jt is, BUT…. I have a house full of kids until 6-7 almost every night. It will be nice when Jt can go to his baseball practices and I can take *Z* and Alec. I know Jt would LOVE to show off to and show them how to play baseball.
2/11/03 ****More on IKEA*****
Ahhhh Ha. My Ikea plan worked. Joe works very close to Ikea and we had to exchange some blinds we got there over the weekend so I asked if he would do it on his lunch. He just called me and asked me which coffee table I had picked out. :O) He then proceeded to say “ Happy Valentines Day”. Yeeeaaah We are finally going to have two pieces of furniture that match in our house. Loll. He also got some flower plates and matching bowls and silver wear for the kids, a chair for Alec, some bibs and exchanged our blinds.
He was also telling me about the T.V. hutch they have there that matches the tables and said we can get that in the next couple of weeks. Wooohooo. Now I only the Couch, chair, bedroom end tables, hutch , desk, dresser, window treatments and bed frame.
***BED TIME*****
The bed time routine is going VERY well! Last night all the kids were asleep by 8:17! I couldn’t believe it and just soaked up the silence. I will admit, it has been tough and there have been many battles with J.t. On Sunday he whined and screamed at us for an hour and I refused to let in. He would sneak out of his room and turn on the hall light. As soon as he did that Alec was up and out of his bed playing. I would just keep turning the light off. Jt was just doing it to test me and to see if I would give in. I didn’t. Last night he didn’t even fight me on it. Bedtime was very pleasant and there was no whining or crying. I made sure I gave the kids each a glass of water and tons of hugs and kisses. I turned off the lights and went downstairs. No more interruptions. Until about 2 in the morning when Jt snuck into our room… One battle at a time though.
Well, I am going to get going for now. I will write Autumns birth story on her Birthday on the 17th! :O) My baby girl is going to be 5!! *sniff*
God Bless
Tanya
