Alec and his fat lip
My little guy officially looks like a little bruiser now and has had his first toddler-hood wound. He was all excited this morning and dancing around to our "Lion king" Cd and he slipped on the wood floors with his cup in his mouth and cut his top lip open. He held his breath for a couple of seconds and let out a very high pitched scream that every mother dreads hearing! Luckily, the cut was not deep and we escaped stitches this time. However, I do not know how long it will be until we make a trip to the Er for stitches because Alec has also turned into a monkey! He has found a way to get onto his dresser and climb up on Jt’s top bunk. Today, I just set the ladder back up because it is safer then having Alec climb up on a dresser and then on to the bed. Ugh.. There is really no way to rearrange the furniture in the boys room to prevent this from happening. No matter what I do there will be some form of furniture for him to climb on to. I am scared to death of him being on that top bunk and he sneaks up there every chance he gets now. I may just have to move his toddler bed into Autumns bedroom ,but she has a lofted bed which is not much lower then Jt’s. :o( I’m stuck.

Bed time has been a real disaster in our house the last couple of weeks and I am ready to pull my hair out. Lately, I have been falling asleep before the kids do and Joe is left to deal with them. We put them in bed at 8-8:30 but they just won’t stay put! They come down the stairs to try and get drinks, go to the bathroom, complain about each other, want another hug and kiss, they have a tummy ache. Every single time we don’t give in and send them back upstairs but they KEEP doing it! I swear I am up those steps 15 times a night!
Now, J.T sneaks his way into our room and lays on the floor next to our bed. He does it SO quietly that we did not realize he was there one night and well…… use your imagination! I don’t want to shut our door or their doors every night but that may be the only thing that works! Does anyone else shut their door and the kids doors? Any advice would be very welcome! It has gotten to the point where Joe and I hardly talk at night.
Tonight I am going to start getting them ready for bed at 7:30 and see if that works.. I doubt it but it won’t hurt anything. :o(

I am such a mean mom let me tell ya. Monday night Jt would not go to bed and ended up staying up way to late. I knew Tuesday morning was going to be a battle of the wills between us and I dreaded it. Luckily, I was wrong and Jt was very cooperative Tuesday morning and I even gave in and let him play 15 minutes of his Scooby Do play station game before school. When it was time for him to stop playing and go to school her started to complain of a stomach ache. I checked his temperature, made sure he ate a little extra snack and I told him he was going to school. At 10:00 I got a call from the school saying he wanted to come home he was sick. I knew he was just playing a game and he just wanted to come home for fun. ( He does this at least once a month now and I have finally caught on). I told the nurse I would call her back. I then called back and told the office receptionist I knew he was not sick with the flu, and if he did not have a temp I would rather he stayed at school. Plus, I did not want to walk in the freezing cold with 5 kids to pick him up from school only to have him be fine when I got home.( I got an attitude from the lady in the office when I told her this! ) The nurse (who was much nicer and understanding of my situation) said she would give him a snack and let him lay down for a while. I warned her (she was new) that he could be very persistent and she replied with “ I am a mom of 4, I can be persistent too.” LOL She must have been, because J.T. stayed at school all day and wouldn’t you know that he was fine and wanted to go over to a friend’s house and play after school!

Last night's bedtime routine went very well. I decided to keep bedtime at 8:00 instead of 7:30 but changed some things around. At 7:30 they changed into pj’s and brushed their teeth. I told them about the changes we were making at bedtime and I did not want any arguing. I tuned out the whining and crying about the changes. At 8:00 sharp we went upstairs, read a book and then lights out. Everyone went in their own bed and that was it. All the lights were turned off, even the hall light. I went in my room to make sure they stayed put. Jt and Autumn got up a couple of times but I was right on top of them before they even made it to the hallway and made them go back to bed. Alec was out by 8:20, Autumn @8:30 and Jt fell asleep at 9:00. The only hitch was Jt snuck into Alecs bed and was smushing him so I had to make him get out. My house was so quiet at 9:00 and I actually got to spend time with Joe. I will be sticking to the same routine tonight!

Autumns birthday will be here before we know it and Autumn is very good at pointing this out to everyone. LOL She is very excited to be the Princess for the day. I really don’t know what will change that day though…she already is the princess of the Castle over here. LOL
Joe and I were talking about her last night and we HAVE to get her back in dance again. She loves to dance so much and we have been dragging our feet about it the last couple of months. We keep saying we are going to do it then something comes up. This weekend for SURE we are going to sign her up somewhere. You should see her when American Idol is on…. She dances and sings, and she likes to tell me who is good and who isn’t. So far her favorite is the blonde Kimberly. She says she will win….. :O)

Well I better get going… I have a TON of laundry piling up and of course, Autumns room is a huge mess again. :o(
Only one birth story a week… you will have to wait until next week for Alecs birth story

God Bless
Tanya
