January 4, 2003
I have decided that writing three separate diaries is getting to be too much for this mom of three. I sit down to write the kids entries and feel suddenly overwhelmed and feel bad if I don’t write the same amount about each child ( Silly thoughts I know…but the truth). I LOVE to write about my children and would not give it up for anything. One day my children will each have their own book of their life and I love the thought of that. Therefore, giving up my diary all together is out of the question. The most logical thing for me to do is combine all the kids’ journals into one now. The entries will be long and full of information. Plus, I will be able to keep up with it on a weekly basis. (Hopefully).I have e-mailed I parenting and requested to transfer my diary over to Moms today. Hopefully it will happen quickly (fingers crossed). Until this change goes into effect I will be keeping my Moms today Diary here at my Toddlers today diary.:o)
***Daycare and Potty training***
In my last entry I expressed some concern about loosing my little daycare boy *Z* because his mom was thinking of preschool for him. I am so happy to report that he is not going to preschool and is staying with me for a while. Woohooo. This makes me so happy and I think that he will do great with the preschool program I do at my home. This week, officially starts a real preschool schedule and I am anxious to see how it goes. I have all my supplies ready and can’t wait to get it going. I really like *Z*’s mom and adore little *Z* so this news has really made me happy. Alec and *Z* have been playing so nice with one another (they always have but they play almost non-stop with each other now). I love to watch them interact with one another and have little conversations. *Z* started potty training over the Christmas break and is doing wonderful and Alec is once again showing interest in the potty again because he sees his buddy going potty now. Tomorrow, (Monday) I am going to put Alec in only big boy underwear again and see where it takes us once again. One week he shows interest the next week he could care less. I would LOVE for him to be potty trained soon and be rid of diapers for the first time in 7 YEARS! LOL Plus, if he was trained before May that would be a double plus because we are going to Disney world and then a 7 day Disney Cruise and to not have to pack diapers for this trip would be wonderful. :O)
***Afternoon Naps and Back to school for Jt &Hockey***
I have noticed that Alec’s afternoon nap is getting shorter and shorter each day *sigh*. This has kind of put a glitch in my day now because every second of the time he was sleeping I was catching up on housework and getting other chores finished. *Z* now sleeps a little longer then Alec and it is hard to keep Alec from waking up *Z*. Once the two of them are up I cannot do my housework I have to attend to them and play with them which I do not mind at all and I love. Although, then I have been bombarded with extra housework in the evening and can’t spend as much time with Joe after the kids go to bed. Hopefully, this is just a stage and when Jt is back in school Alec will sleep longer again……. I hope! :o)
Jt starts back to school on Monday and all I can say is Wooohoooo. I love my son dearly and he is a joy to be around but honestly, he has been harder to deal with then my 2 year old during the last week of this break. He would whine and whine about not having anything to do. “I’m bored mom”….”I need my space mom “ ….. “I want to go somewhere mom” Moooooommmmm I don’t know what I want!” Ugh… lol During the day when the Daycare kids where here he was wonderful and played with the kids and enjoyed being the oldest one there. But the minute the kids walked out the door he turned on the whine and I was close to loosing my mind hearing this every 5 minutes. LOL This child NEEDS school. I see Summer Camp over the summer break for this child. :o)
On the hockey front Jt is doing AWESOME!!! He had a game yesterday (Saturday) and looked spectacular. He is keeping up with all the more experienced kids now. He did not throw and crying tantrums like he has in the past and really seemed interested in the game. He even almost got a goal. Woohoo Jt. I am very proud of him.
***Autumn and Alec with her dolls& Preschool at home with Autumn***
As a mother I sometimes ask the Lord to show me a sign that I am doing a good job at being a mom. Well, in the last couple of days I have had many signs thrown my way and it all revolves around these dolls that Autumn received for Christmas. Autumn got the Bitty Twins from the American Girl Doll store. She has played with them along with her older American girl doll and bitty, non-stop this week. I rearranged her room and she now has a little corner of her room just for her dolls to play house. There is the crib, a chair for Autumn to sit in, a highchair etc etc. While she is playing I will peak in to check on her and I have sat and watched my sweet little girl acting like a mother to these babies. She is singing them the songs I sing to her, helping them say their prayers to the Lord, playing little tickle games I play with her. She also sits and rocks her babies and reads them her favorite stories.. That truly puts a smile in my heart and tells me I am doing something right.
Yesterday afternoon I was downstairs and realized that little Alec was not with all of us. I went to check on him upstairs and saw him in Autumns room I peaked my head in and saw my 2 year old little boy tucking the dolls in their crib, kissing them on the forehead and saying “ I Wuv you dis much,…..more den to the mood and back” (written out in Alec talk LOL ) This is something I say to him every single night. The tears flooded my eyes and I went to go pick him up and told him I loved him so very much. Again, I was reminded that I am doing Okay at being a mom! :o)
At breakfast today we talked to Autumn about her preschool work at home and she is very excited to get started. I have a bunch of workbooks we will work with her on and of course the hooked on Phonics program. :O) I can’t wait to see how she does with all of this. I will update often about her progress.
Last night Joe and I went out for a much needed night out. We had a wonderful dinner at Applebee’s and had wonderful conversation. After dinner went to see the movie “Analyze That “. I had really wanted to see “My big fat Greek wedding” but it was sold out.:o( The movie we did see was very funny though and we enjoyed it. Joe and I are going to make a point to go out like that once a month. It was really good for us.
I have updated Alecs website with some older pictures but they are so adorable. I put up a couple family pictures in the pictures gallery for you to see as well. Please come look and sign our guestbook
