Hi Everyone,
Things have been a little hectic around here trying to get ready for
Jazmine's birthday and my parents' arrival. I am so happy they are coming. I
have missed them a lot and I know Jordan has too. We bought a futon so
that
they could stay here with us and Jordan has told them on the phone that
she
will be sleeping there too. She is too cute!!! She is excited about her
sister's birthday but I am not sure if she thinks it is for her, too. We
have
talked about it with her and explained that her birthday will be after
Jazmine's in the next month but I don't how much she actually gets.
I don't know what the problem is but she has been so fresh and bratty lately. She argues with me about every thing. She deliberately does something I just asked her not to do. I am pulling my hair out. I don't know why she is doing it; if it's just testing I don't care, I don't like it!!!! This morning was a tear fest about wanting cookies at 10 a.m. I explained that cookies were a treat after a regular meal was eaten, suggested a bunch of other stuff she likes and she just threw a fit. "I want cookies, I don't care, no, I will not eat some cereal." And so on. It makes me so weary to argue and explain about everything but I know I can't give in or she'll never stop. Tell me, mommies of the world, that this is a short stage!!! I can't take much more.
On another note, we signed her up for a Gymboree music class that is
once
a week starting Sept. 13. I think she'll enjoy it. They told me that
they
listen and dance to music and also play with drums and other hand-held
music-makers. We are going to just go to the first class to see if we
like
it before paying for the whole 14 weeks. Anybody else ever go to this?
They don't have any classes going right now that I could go and observe so
we have to wait.
I am not sure if I mentioned before or not that we are going to hold off on preschool until she is 4. Here in Washington state, a child has to be 5 before September to enter kindergarten so Jordan will have to wait until she is 6 to attend. So she can wait and do preschool at 4 and 5. My MIL and I will just take her to story time at the library which is twice a week for 45 minutes and then Gymboree class once a week for 45 minutes and this will at least get her used to group activities and some social skills, hopefully like not yelling out that she has to poop in front of everyone wherever we go. I am so happy that she is potty training but sometimes it is embarrassing!!!
Have a good week, everyone. I am posting some more pictures from last week's trip to the amusement park.
