Hello From the West Coast Everybody,Well, we made it!!! It was four days of driving almost non-stop in a huge truck that was pulling a car trailer so we couldn't go above 62 miles per hour. A.K.A: Hell on wheels. I am so glad that the girls flew in with my mom and grandmother and we didn't try to take them on the trip with us. DH and I spent the most time alone together in our relationship so that part was nice. I missed the girls, but not as much as I thought I would. In fact I didn't really miss them at all the first couple of days but by the time Friday rolled around I was waiting in the airport almost crying when their plane landed. It felt so good when Jordan came running off the walkway yelling "Mommy and Daddy, I love you!!!".
Things are going well here. We have the house unpacked and everything is set up. We worked our butts off the day and a half we had before the girls got here to set everything up since I figured the adjustment would be easier on them if they came into the house set up with all their things. Both girls are doing wonderfully with the whole thing. Jordan asked a few times when we are going home but once we remind her that this is our new home she seems fine. She loves her new yard and she has made friends with the kids next door, one of whom is a little girl who is 5.
Early this morning, my mom and grandmother left to return to RI. We didn't go to the airport because their flight was early and we knew it would be hard on Jordan to see them go, so we said our goodbyes (actually see you laters) the night before. So far Jordan is handling it very well, she hasn't asked for them at all and seems happy that her Gramma Margie (DH's mom) came to see her today. I am so glad Jordan is doing so well!!! Oh and some good news, while she was back in RI and we were driving, she pooped once on the potty and peed a bunch of times all on her own. I am happy that she did it, but sad that it wasn't with me, makes me doubt my parenting skills. She has gone pee on the potty twice since she got here so hopefully this is a good sign.
Well, I'm beat and the kids haven't totally adjusted to the time change so they get up early. See you next week!!!!
