Megan's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
March 15, 2000
Hi everyone:Well, the honeymoon is over!!! No more naps for Jordan. I could handle the fact that she doesn't nap if she wasn't so crabby!!! She needs a nap but she refuses to sleep, so all day she is whinny and will cry at the drop of a hat. The naps were nice while they lasted.
Anyway, on to the good news, Jordan's blood test results came back and her lead level is now 6!!! This is wonderful because now she is in the "normal" range and doesn't have to be tested again for another year.
Okay now on to the scary news, we are most likely moving 3,000 miles away!!! Probably by May. And we are going to drive those 3,000 miles with a rented truck and our station wagon. Which means at all times one of us will be in the car alone with 2 kids!!! Okay here is the deal. My husband (and all his family) is from Spokane, Washington. I (and all my family) am from Rhode Island. In 1994, I decided I needed adventure in my life and moved from Rhode Island to Spokane. That is where I meet DH and I lived there 2 years. I came back to Rhode Island to return to college and DH came to visit me for Christmas in 1996, we were planning on getting married that following September of 97. Well, as it happened I got pregnant with Jordan that Christmas and wanted to stay with my family so DH moved to Rhode Island and we got married and so on up until now. Well, DH really misses his family and friends in Spokane and all of a sudden he has been offered a job from his company in Washington. Not that far from Spokane. He really wants to take it (better position and a slight raise) and I liked living in Spokane, and I still have friends there so I don't mind moving. The hardest thing is going to be telling my family -- they are so close to the girls. It is going to hurt them to have them so far away. On the other hand the girls have another set of grandparents in Spokane who they know from visits and DH has a bunch of cousins who have kids the girls' ages, so they would have lots of playmates. Oh, I don't know!!! I want to move, I love adventure and it will make DH very happy, but I dread telling my family, which I will have done by the time this is posted. I will let you know next week how everything goes!!!
Wish me luck!!!
