Marcie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 19, 1999

Hi everyone,

Things have been slow around here this week. I've had a flu bug for a few days, and the kids are also a little under the weather. We got a kitten a few weeks ago and ever since then, Justin has had a runny nose. We suspected he was allergic to cats a year ago, but we hoped we were wrong -- or that he outgrew it (he has outgrown many allergies, except cow's milk and orange). Now it looks like we may have a problem. And we just spent $75 on the darn cat! Worst of all, she has become very attached to me and is now my office buddy.

I talked to Justin's family specialist the other day about the school district's pre-school. I am really worried that Justin won't want to stay there without me. He just doesn't seem ready to be on his own yet. This morning when I took him with me to drop off his older brother at pre-school, he asked to come in. I was surprised that he'd want to go inside, but as soon as I got him out of the car seat he was saying, "Mommy up" and wanted to be held. When we walked through the door, he grabbed my shirt with a death grip and kept saying, "Mommy sit, mommy sit." He was so afraid I would leave him again.

My husband thinks we should at least try the school district's pre-school, but I am going to have him take Justin into our oldest son's pre-school to get a feel for how Justin acts!

I have no problem having him home with me for another year. And I think we can get the therapy he needs through private therapists, instead of the school. I just don't know! I am so confused about the whole thing.

Other than that, there's really not a lot to tell you. So, until next time!

Marcie
