Laurie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 8, 2002

Well, we made it back from our "family" vacation in Iowa to visit the family of course! - Whew! Sometimes, I don't really know if it is a vacation or not. It sometimes can be really stressful. Don't get me wrong - we both have wonderful families but it is not the same as sitting on a warm beach with sand in our feet etc.

Hannah had a tough trip on the airplane the ride up - Whew - she got really sick after she cried for 50 minutes - I do not have any patience for people with no understanding. Granted and I know they want a quiet flight, but they seem to think I don't. One lady glared at me constantly when Hannah was screaming - after about 50 minutes I wanted to say "If you think you can do better - please be my guest". After that, since Hannah was so worked up she vomited all over herself and me and the aisle of the plane - Ugh! I am not very good at the whole vomiting thing - not even with my own daughter - my husband is really better at that! But back to the lady who was ignorant on the plane - people when they glare or stare at you when your toddler is crying only make me more tense because I am trying so hard to calm her down - instead, Hannah senses my frustration and cries harder....Why don't they get that?????

Hannah is walking everywhere now - still not real stable but definitely walking - Now to break the bottle which we are going to take away this weekend. It should not be really hard - the hardest is when she lays down - I guess I will just replace it with a sippy cup for awhile - anyone else have any suggestions?

I guess that about sums everything up for the past few weeks -
