Virginia the singer.
Have a mentioned before how much Virginia sings? When she was born I bought a 4 CD collection that contains 100 kids songs. These are her favorite thing and listens to them when she is in her room, when she lays down for a nap, and when she goes to bed at night. Usually ever 2 or 3 days she adds a new song to her repertoire. This last week she added the song “Little brown bottle”. If you are familiar with this song the words are “ha ha ha, he he he, little brown bottle don’t I love thee!”. So nice to have an almost 3 year old singing about moonshine! She usually makes strangers smile or laugh with her singing. She surely isn’t shy to sing in front of strangers. Future rock star on my hands? I really like that she loves music. She always asks for the radio in the car, so we usually sing at the top of our lungs while we are in the car.

Has spring arrived?
I have started to bring out her spring clothes since the Texas weather has been warming up. She has on a pair of capri’s today that I bought for her last spring. Last year they were full length pants on her, this year they are above her calves. I can’t believe how much she has grown in a year. Most people comment that they think she is tall for her age, but on the percentile charts she is around 50 to 70%. I’m guessing she will be of average height like her mom (I’m just under 5’7”). I’m hoping I won’t have to buy too many spring or summer clothes this year. I bought mostly 3T size last year and they were big on her. I think that when she becomes potty trained the bottoms will fit just fine.

Potty Training
Speaking of Potty training, we have made some progress! She still wets herself if she is wearing panties, but she has gone #1 on the potty everyday since last Sunday. She gets very excited when she goes now too because she knows she will be rewarded. Guess what her reward is? Ice cream. We make her a small ice cream cone or she gets ½ of a mini ice cream sandwich. If you have followed Virginia’s diary you know we don’t give her much junk food….so this TREAT is really working. (Don’t worry we don’t deprive her, but we view junk food as a treat and not an everyday thing).

I babysat for a friend’s son the other day. He is 2 months younger than Virginia. He spent the first 30 minutes crying and kicking our front door. Then the next 30 minutes crying in my arms. Virginia kept asking “What’s wrong with Will?” She just didn’t understand why he was crying when there was finger painting and play-doh to be played with. I was getting a headache from his crying and decided to try TV. Luckily Sesame Street was on and he calmed down right away. He was only over for 3 hours but I took a long nap that afternoon to recover. I guess being pregnant and then watching 2 kids was just too much for my body to take.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
