Happy Halloween. Sam is dressing as a cow this year (for the second year in a row). He's enjoying Halloween more this year. He likes his costume and "moos" when he puts it on. He even likes the cow mittens. He likes pointing out all the pumpkins that are everywhere we go. On Saturday we went to a pumpkin patch out in the country. Sam loved running around the field looking at pumpkins. He coined a phrase "all pumpkins" which he does with a circular hand gesture and which means "there are a lot of pumpkins." The highlight of the trip to the pumpkin patch was the hayride. We rode on a wagon pulled by a tractor. Sam had never seen a real tractor before and he was enthralled by it. He kept asking us "Sam's tractor?" hoping we'd say it was his tractor. Sam hasn't learned the "my" or "mine" that many toddlers use so emphatically, but he does say "Sam's ________". Tonight Mike intends to take Sam trick-or-treating. I don't know who is going to eat the candy. Not Sam I know!
