Kimberly's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
September 20, 2000
I finally heard those words every mother loves to hear: "Mommy, I love you". Actually Sam said "Mommy, luh oo" but I understood.
Sam had his 18 month check up last week. What a traumatic experience for him. The first thing the nurse wanted him to do was to stand on the upright scale. Sam stepped up and it jiggled which upset him and he never recovered. Every time a nurse or doctor tried to measure or examine him he fought and fussed. My poor little baby. I felt so badly for him that afterwards I bought him a Big Bird stuffed toy.
Sam is still very small for his age. He's only in the 10th percentile for height and between the 5th and 10th in weight -- 31 inches and 21 lbs. It doesn't surprise me, as the majority of his relatives are short.
Sam slept through the night two nights in a row last week, but hasn't since. He has never slept through the night before -- except twice when he was 2 months old.
Sam's climbing is steadily improving. He can now climb on and off his ride-on toys by himself and can climb down from beds.
That's all for this week,
Kimberly
