Kimberly's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 28, 2000

I think I'll have to accept that Sam will take a two-hour nap and go to bed at 10 p.m. or take no nap and go to bed earlier! He doesn't seem to need much sleep -- maybe 11 hours total.

Sam has been using more and more two-word combinations. Sometimes he tries to say longer sentences but they come out funny. He is fascinated by letters and numbers and can identify the number 2 and the letter B. He picked those up on his own from counting and from alphabet books.

Mike took Sam outside one night to look at the airplanes that fly by our house so every evening Sam asks to see the "planes." Today I pointed out the clouds to Sam. I don't think he's ever noticed them before.

Sam is still in a "B-I-N-G-O" rut. I am so tired of singing that song! I bought him a new lullaby CD but so far he hasn't expressed interest in any of the songs.

Sam will be 18 months old in two weeks. It's so hard to believe that my little baby is getting so old. I remember how long it seemed to take him to adjust to living in this world. He needed constant soothing as a newborn. Now he is a happy toddler, so curious about the world he truly feels a part of. I really enjoy spending time with him and I'm so grateful that I've been able to stay home with him.
