Kimberly's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 30, 2000

5.30

Well, Sam has been sleeping in his own room for a couple weeks now. The transition went smoothly. He's still waking up in the middle of the night, although most of the time it's after 4:00 a.m. Sometimes I wonder if he'll ever sleep through the night. Once last week I heard him moving around his crib and he called out once then went back to sleep. That's the first time I've known him to get back to sleep on his own.

We've been taking Sam to free concerts in our community. I'm not sure if he even listens much to the music, but he loves to be outside running around. He won't stay put for very long and we have to follow him closely because he's drawn toward cars and trucks and dogs. It's funny, when he wanders away from the blanket he doesn't even look back! But when he realizes he's being followed he starts running and laughing.

Developmentally, it's just more of the same with Sam. His vocabulary is growing daily. Oh, he finally has begun to stack blocks more than 2 blocks, but he's not very careful when he tries and usually knocks over his block tower by accident.
