I often wish that we lived closer to our relatives, especially for Sam's sake. My parents came down to visit for a few days; they have only seen Sam four times since he was born. I know Sam didn't remember them but he quickly became attached to them and even fussed a little when my dad would go out to the car. Now he can pick them out in his photo album. He even gave them goodnight kisses! It's too bad that Sam's grandparents can't be a bigger part of his life. It would be nice to have the support of extended family. We have friends, but the majority of them don't have children so we don't see them very often. Most of the time it's just the three of us. Well, since Mike works so much most of the time it's really just Sam and me.
