Kim's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 23, 2000

Last week when I wrote that Ross and I had decided to start trying for another child I lied. Actually we had started about two months ago and until Friday we had been unsuccessful. On Friday the 19th I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! So there you go -- I'm going to be the mother of two.

Ross and I are thrilled, but little Max has no idea what's in store. I'm sure he is going to be a great big brother, but we'll have issues with sharing, there's no doubt about that.

One of the best things about this is that not only is my best friend pregnant with her first after almost two years of infertility, but Ana's (Max's girlfriend) mom is pregnant, too! We're due two weeks apart! It's going to be nice having other preggos surrounding me. Then I'll have someone to go visit and complain to when Ross isn't understanding my hormonal surges or mad cravings. When I was pregnant with Max I had enormous cravings for veggies. One morning I ate an entire head of lettuce, two tomatoes and three cucumbers in a salad for breakfast. Ross was mortified, but my pregnant co-workers just gave me a knowing nod when I told them. It was nice to be totally understood by someone, and that's what I'm really looking forward to this time around. Thank God for girlfriend support!!!

For the Memorial Day weekend we're heading up north to our friend's cottage. I'm really looking forward to a weekend of fishing, boating, biking around the lake and sitting around the fire. Since Max will love the tent, we're taking it up there and plan on sleeping outside if it's not too cold. I'm anxious to see if he still likes boating and how he'll do during bike rides.

Until next time,

Kim
