Kim's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 28, 2000

Hi everyone.

Stuff is really coming together at my house. We have sold our house and have found a new one. Both deals are signed off on and now we just have to wait until closing. Yeah! I'm already beginning to think about how we are going to change the new house. I'm going to lay hardwood floors in the kitchen, repaint the living room, redo Max's room and the master bedroom. In fact, the only room I'm not going to change is the third bedroom -- it's already decorated for a baby so I'll leave it intact for our next one.

Also, by the time you read this Ross will be on first shift! I'm so excited for it to actually happen but I'm also nervous that something is going to come up at the last minute and will prevent it from happening.

Max is doing really well. However, we've started something new this week -- hitting. When he gets frustrated or if I don't let him do something, he will start hitting. I hold his arms down and explain in my sternest mommy voice, that hitting is naughty. As soon as I let go of his hands he starts it again. At that point I generally walk away. Is that the right thing to do? People have told me that I shouldn't be too concerned about it because it's normal at this age (17 months). I'm hoping this stage, like all the others, will pass.

I'm including some new photos of Max. I hope you enjoy them (yes, he is vacumming in one photo - he loves to do it!).
