Kim's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 8, 2000

Hi everyone! Things around our house are moving right along.

On the home selling front, before we even had the house on the market, a co-worker of mine wanted to see it. We showed it to his wife and he and they are very interested and are going to put an offer in! I would be thrilled to death to not only save the $8500 in realtor fees, but also to save the cost of advertising! We're keeping our fingers crossed that everything works out with their financing and offer.

Max is still doing really well. The weather has been beautiful around here lately and it turns out that Max loves to be outside. If we ask him if he wants to play outside, he starts doing a little dance and saying yes! He wants to be outside for hours even though we haven't gotten his outside toys down from the garage yet. So basically he's just running in the grass and falling down ... and he still loves it! Tonight I'm going to buy a wagon to pull him around in and some balls to kick around. The only thing he isn't quite understanding yet is that the road is an "owie" and he can't play there. Actually, I know he understands what I'm saying, but he is becoming a bit stubborn and insists on trying to run in that direction anyway.

That brings me to my latest issue. Max has always been a very laid-back kind of fella. Where my friends' babies were a bit more fussy or stubborn, Max was always casual, and rarely put up a fight. But now, he's beginning to throw mini-tantrums and fuss a bit more. If I tell him that he can't have something, he'll get upset and whiny. When he has one of his little fits, which includes stomping his feet, falling to the ground or trying to push something away, I just ignore him and wait it out. After a few minutes I'll ask if he needs a hug, he'll nod his head yes, and we make up. It's not a tragic event or anything, but I'm not used to him being difficult.

Ross has always said that Max has his easy-going demeanor and my temper. I'm beginning to think he's right! Oh well, this is Max's world ... we're just living in it.

Until next time... Kim
