Kim's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 10, 2000

Hi everyone!

Well, last Sunday Max turned 15 months old! 15 months!!! I'll have to apologize to my mom for ever rolling my eyes when she would say "I remember when you were just a little baby ... you're growing up too fast!" Now that I am a mom, I can understand what she was talking about and just how shocking it can be to look down at the little creature tugging on your pant let and realize that he's growing up whether you like it or not.

Ross and I were discussing this phase of Max's life and agreed that this is the best time so far. I miss the infant stage quite a bit, but it is nice to be able to chase him, wrestle him, hold semi-coherent conversations and get hugs when I ask for one. Gotta love those hugs!!!

Speaking of conversations, Max is continuing to do well with learning sign language. He has started to sign on his own when he wants something. On Sunday he walked up to me and signed "eat" all on his own and then sat down on the floor to wait for his raisin snack. Yesterday he signed "mommy" when I walked through the door at the babysitter's house. Yeah!

We went back to the doctor for an ear infection recheck and it wasn't cleared up yet. So, Max is back on antibiotics and we have an appointment to talk to the ear, nose and throat doctor about putting in tubes. I'll hoping we do the tubes because of all the ear infections we've had so far (10 in 15 months) and I don't want to risk damage to his hearing or speech. We'll have to wait until March 13 to see.

I'd better get going ... hope all is well at your homes!

Until next time ... Kim
