Kim's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
January 24, 2000
There was a gentle knock on the door. I opened the door and was greeted by a man with a sly smile. He slipped my coat around my shoulders, bid farewell to the babysitter and led me out to the car. He opened the door for me and held my arm as I slipped into the comfortable seat. The cell phones were off, Max was in safe hands and the radio was playing soft music as we rolled down the highway on our date. Ross and I actually had a date...one that was at least three months behind schedule.
We had a five-course meal at a very nice restaurant without worrying about Max, work, bills or anything else. We enjoyed each other's company and got caught up on the activities of each other's lives. Considering we haven't seen each other more than one day in a row since early November, there was a lot of catching up to do.
We were gone for only three hours, but in that short time we reconnected and confirmed that our relationship was still strong, despite some neglect.
I've always loved a good date, but they are even better now because you go home together, wake up together and can still feel the calming effects of the date the next morning.
Until next time... Kim
