Introduction
Happy-Happy Birthday-Birthday
We had an early birthday party for the little-big guys and it worked out great! Tommy the Tsunami and Jakey Earthquakey were in heaven at Jungle Jim’s with it’s indoor kiddie rides and their friends. We had five sets of double trouble and I bet Jungle Jim’s hasn’t been the same since. Their favorite toy by far was the Hot Wheels Jet City race track, provided by, you guessed it, Grandma D. Things were a mess when we left but it wasn’t MY mess to clean up. (G)
We’ve had fun holidays so far, but Jake definitely hates Santa. He refuses to go anywhere the red guy and he wouldn’t sit on Merry Christmoose’s lap either. We had to email Jake’s “dump truck” request to Santa. Tommy sits on anyone’s lap that will hold him and belts out that he wants a “race car car wash”. The boys are both fixated on cars, trucks and race tracks.
Max told Santa he didn’t want anything because he already has everything he wants. That was quite refreshing to hear as a mom, although it does signal that my kiddos are spoiled. Most of their stuff comes from Grandma D, though. She seems to think they need (at least) one of each toy in the universe. Of course, they love it!
Life with twins is getting much easier. Last Thursday I took all three guys to a birthday party at Some Dude’s Playground (a giant Mecca of inflatable jump-on thingies) and they jumped and raced and played and laughed and grinned. What was missing from the usual picture? Twin tantrums, a diarrhea disaster, and one of the guys stuck to my leg demanding “Hold you!” Absolutely no complaining, no whining. It was a Hallmark evening with us laughing and having a blast. A big first (I’m usually super-stressed at things like this). I’m looking forward to many more fun times like this and I know the guys are too!
I’ll submit a longer report on Xmas Day, when the guys actually turn three. Can they really be that old? My little guys…
Excuse me, I had to sniff back a tear. I know…this isn’t like me. But my little guys are getting sooo BIG!
