NON-STOP ACTION

Mabuhay!

I have never been this busy and "loaded" with things to do since I left my career to pursue motherhood two years ago. It's not that I don't welcome it but the main differences with the "interventions" I encounter now boils down to a toddler and a bulging belly. Sometimes, it just drives me crazy, just to plan and think ahead of what has to be done, considering that I have only a week to do what I have to do for now (We leave for Canada on July 2nd) and I just keep on praying for good health and strength to help me get on.

Last week Aaron arrived for a few days and our cargo from Indonesia also arrived, so it's really 28 hours a day unpacking and trying to put some order in the apartment. We had some good family time together although having a toddler while you're cleaning up and tidying all the mess doesn't help at all.

Orion for his part is adapting fast to new people and the many changes taking place in his environment. We shuttle from my parents' house and our new apartment every so often. He enjoys the travel and mobility but hates it when we start to wind up. He gets cranky and demands all attention again. He has also demonstrated signs of "stubbornness or independence" as in he doesn't want to be held when walking in the mall or on the streets.

When I leave him with my Mother, she says that he behaved the whole day and that he was "good", however when I am around and doing something, he will just insist on "Hug me, please" and will get in the way of what I am doing. If I try to stop him, he will throw a tantrum.... Oh boy, am not sure exactly which is more tiring -- the physical work or the emotional sparring with my toddler.

I really look forward to August, because that's the time that I will slow down, no matter what. In the meantime, have to leave for the new apartment again.

See you later.

From the Philippines,

Kelly and Orion Flynn
