"A NEW LIFE"MABUHAY!
It's just been crazy, crazy weeks forever. Finally, we are out of
Indonesia and already landed in the Philippines on the night of June
2nd. But that's without saying the long saga that it took before we
got here. Aaron is still holding on in Jakarta sans all our personal
belongings with only the Jaga, our rottweiller for company and a few
basic amenities to live on. He's still in the tightrope as the
confirmation of his new contract is purely verbal at the moment.
The last two weeks of May were really very heady and stressful for all of us. We had to pack, pack, pack; realign our budgets; have the movers come in and repack what we have done; rush to get this and that done ... ohh it was endless. Our computer was also packed and is in a container somewhere trying to make it's way to Manila (that's why I have missed my entries!) So it was not a surprise that Orion fell ill. Our flights were changed three times, much to the disappointment of my Mother who has been worrying sick about us. After Orion got better, I was the one ready to collapse. Finally, we had to GO and fly out. It was a tearful goodbye at the airport for Yani and Papa Aaron who sent us off.
Orion did quite well on the two flights, Jakarta to Singapore and
Singapore to Manila. He got "free" seats both ways as the flights
were not full. Maybe, due to the stress and illness the few days
before, he practically just slept through both flights. It was
surprisingly "easy" for me.
We then proceeded to our "new" home that's only 90% ready for now. He was not fussy at all about the cramped space (as this is now an apartment) and no proper beds yet. He played well with "Tita Bebet" and "Lolo and Lola" (my sister and parents). Again maybe due to his "tiredness" he slept well.
While the apartment is being finished to 100%, we are currently
staying at my folks house, some 45 kilometers from Manila. I have to
travel to and fro every two days to check on the progress, so it's
still very tiring for me. Orion in the meantime, has settled well,
but still has this "holding the poop" problem. He however, has boxes
of toys to fill his day and cousins Margie and Maui to play with him.
More new experiences and stories to tell soon including the trip to Canada next month.
From the Philippines,
Kelly and Orion Flynn
