"INACTIVE WEEK"
Mabuhay. *
Long before I became a diary writer, I have always tried to chronicle the amazing developments and "first things" of Orion in his baby book thats good until he is 5 years old. Reading back and thinking hard about it (well, thats my major activity these days -- lots of quiet moments due to the pregnancy discomforts), I am really thankful for the wonderful son that I have and just how fortunate I am to have him. Oh, I just love it when he wants to hug, hug, hug and kiss and keep repeating "Mama, Mama" as he goes to sleep. Of course, there are times that it becomes annoying like when he insists on joining you in the bathroom during your "private time," otherwise am just a happy and content mother.
The past week, Orion has just been confined to the four corners of our house, including the garden mainly because of my "discomforts." Aarons also been out of town most of the week and the service car provided is not available to us. Well, there are reputable taxis but sometimes its just a hassle with a growing belly and a toddler in tow, not to have your own car. Theres also the crazy moods of the weather here -- as in extremely hot, then all of a sudden, thunderstorms just pour. I can really feel his restlessness for new scenery. Thats the sad thing here because unlike in the West, parks are everywhere and well maintained. Here, the city is so polluted and the park hours away. Our house just happen to be located in front of a building complex (in fact where Aarons main office is) and if the weather is a bit clear, I let Orion, Yani and Endang, go walking. He enjoys it because there are plenty of dragonflies and kites flying in the air.
On Sunday, we had the chance to get out of the house for a while to attend Mass. My little one was excited because getting dressed means to go "Vroom, Vroom." On the way back, I wanted to get some groceries so we stopped at this newly opened hypermarket. Well, the worst person to bring shopping along is not Orion but Aaron who kept mumbling "Its like a zoo in here and dadadadadadaddada ." So, it was a real quick stop!
Tonight, we realized that the North American genes of Orion (especially on appetite) is more pronounced. We ordered for pizza and even though he had his own dinner of porridge and yogurt, he had almost 2 slices of pizza, not to mention another 12 oz of milk! I can just imagine how many boxes we have to order in the near future to satisfy these BIG APPETITES (including the coming baby this year)!
Lastly, we would like to say a BIG HELLO to my sister-in-law Janet, whos based in Toronto together with her son Jeremy (whos just a few months older than Orion) and husband Glenn, whos been very supportive to us. Shes been following our diary closely and telling anecdotes about her son too. Well, we look forward to a riotous meeting of the two boys come June.
See you next week.
From Indonesia,
Aaron, Orion & Kelly
