Kellie's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |

This is a quick note about our trip to PEI... we had so much fun and I needed to ensure it was apart of Brennen's diary.
PEI:
We had a fantastic time with so much to do. Brennen had a blast in the car (2 day drive of 7 hours each day) I was SO worried about this as he isn't a big car boy. He did great, we left Ottawa at 4:30 am and got into Edmunston NB at around 3:00 Atlantic time. He loved PEI, especially the ocean he spent most of his time running in and running back out. He LOVED playing on the beach in the sand and finding shells. He just blossomed with the full days and tons of family time. We took the kids to the drive-in which they both LOVED.. B especially enjoyed the goodies and when he was tired he snuggled (and nursed) in the front seat and then we transferred him to his car seat. Brennen loved spending time with Papa and Layla and even now in October he still asks "Papa and Layla here"...almost every day lol.
It was probably the best trip we've ever taken and we definately will go back every year. Even now thinking about the fun we had I can't wait until we go back.
The drive was great, we got to drive through Quebec (I had no idea Quebec was so beautiful) New Brunswick (very much like Northern Ontario (hill and lots of trees) and PEI (the Island) which was gorgeous with its rolling hills, postcard images, rural areas and of course the ocean!.
Our vacation was quite lazy as our schedule was pretty straight forward:
Wake up around 9:00
Breakfeast *usually in the cottage*
10:00-12:00 visit a site (Charlottetown, Avonlea, Rainbow Village, etc)
12:00-1:00 Lunch (favorite spot Amandas which had excellent burgers)
1:00 -5:00 BEACH (favorite was Rusticoville Beach but we visited many others)
6:00 Ate dinner (some favorites were The fishermans warf and seafood from the marina on the dock)
We usually went for a walk after dinner on the piers or walked to the beach (yes again) and watched the sun set and the white caps.
Our vacation was so lovely and relaxing we followed the above schedule for pretty much the whole 14 days there. We didn't want to leave, but I think the kids did miss home.
Brennen grew up so much on the trip his verbal skill improved dramatically and he seemed to really love the beach. We loved nothing more than walking on the beach with the kids watching them run through the surf.
Its wonderful to experience the beauty of the East Coast and enjoy all Canada has to offer. John and I have decided that while the kids are young we will tour the East Coast (NB, Nova Scotia, NFLD, PEI, etc.) and really learn about our beautiful country.
As soon as we got back from PEI it was quite busy with McKinley starting SK and Brennen starting playgroup up the street (he calls it B's school) He loves playgroup and enjoys all the stations but really likes the arts and crafts table (he made me a great picture) and the kitchen area. He loves to ride on the ride on toys and enjoys just running around and being around other kids his age.
His verbal skills are moving along he's picked up so many new words and is starting to pee in the potty. Although this morning he tinkled on the floor lol.. he is just so engaging and funny now that I am really enjoying this age.
More to come next update!
Love and Kisses to you Brennen
Mommy
