Kellie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 20, 2002

Well, we have survived another camping trip. We loved our stay at Sharbot lake but boy was our family DIRTY... After 5-6 days of just using the lake to keep clean and having our campsite on dirt you can imagine the state my children were in.. (John and I were pretty disgusting too lol)

Brennen really loved camping this time, he had no fear of the water and loved to run right in (heart attack for mommy though lol)
He slept wonderfully in our tent and loved to play and jump on the air mattress. Brennen seemed to really enjoy copying McKinley, everything she did (ie: jump off the dock, jump off John into the water, swim in the deep end of the lake etc.)he did too. if John let McKinley do anything Brennen was right behind her, It was SOOOO cute.

Some of the "tricks" Brennen has learned over the last few weeks are as follows:
-When you tell "B" he can't go outside till he puts on his shoes, he goes and gets his shoes and brings them to you.
-If you say, "Put it in the garbage" he'll do just that (with a huge grin)
-He loves to say MOOOOOOO as in "what does a cow do"
-He bows when you clap
-He says "SHHHHHH" with his fingers to his lip

I can't believe how much he has grown up in just the last few weeks, he is definately a mommas' boy though.. as long as I am there he is really happy, but have me leave the room, and "B" gets very put out...:(

John and I are seriously considering buying a pop up trailor for next year, although we have the unpacking and packing up of the tent etc. down pat it is a lot of work. We would like to travel Canada while the kids are young and enjoy our beautiful country. Next year we have planned a PEI trip so that should be the start of a wonderful tradition.

bumps and bruises:

Brennen's list of hurts while we where away is as follows:
Fell (or jumped off) a steep cliff/hill near the beach: scraped head and face
Fell on Monkey Bars: a bleeding nose which really made him cry
Fell on road while running from mommy: scraped knee and hand
and various bumps and bruises which were minor and therefore only kept my little lad quiet for a minute (enough for me to catch my breath and wait for the next one lol)

So this family is done camping for the summer and is looking forward to the Canadian long weekend to relax from all of our vacationing....:) we are thinking of going to Kingston for some family time.

I am going to attach some pictures to this and the next entry of our camping trip so keep an eye out..

Cheers,

Kellie and the "B"
