Week of June 17th

Well our first annual family camping trip is coming up, we leave on the 25th and boy am I excited. McKinley can't wait to sleep in a tent and "B" well he'll go anywhere McKinley is.

I have great memories of our family taking summer vacations and hope to be able to pass those memories to my kids, although John and I may be a bit uprepared for the work involved in packing up two kids and all their junk and unpack in a campsite.. We purchased a large 8 man tent to give us a bit more room than our smaller tent (which we sold to friends) and purchased a dining tent to help with the misquotes (which I know will be biting due to the rain we've had in Ontario these last few weeks)

We also purchased neat gadget which is like an outdoor shower (its a solar bag which takes 4 hours to heat water) this way we'll have some warm water to keep the kids marginally clean...

Brennen's birthday passed quietly as we are having a family party this weekend all his aunties (he has 5 in Ottawa) are attending along with his Nana and Choo Choo (my mom and her husband) he loved the cake John and I got him on Thursday nite, and McKinley sang him a rousing 5 minute song of Happy Birthday "B".. which was priceless and sooo funny.

"B" gets his one year old shots today, and I think I'll talk to the doctor about his night nursing as soon as I get home from work anywhere between 4-5 he'll nurse and continues to do so until the am.. (he's up at least 3 times in the night to nurse). Last night I was laying on the couch and he was standing next to it. He proceeded to start nursing standing up, the next minute he must have fallen asleep as he fell to the floor from a standing position. I picked him up and laid him down and he went back to sleep.

This is a boy who falls asleep standing up.. while nursing no less... Can you see him in the wilds camping? chasing birds and animals and heaven help us anywhere near fire or water..

I sometimes think we are crazy but heck, these are the days that memories are made of.. and I for one can't wait..

Cheers,
