Kathy's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 21, 2002

Where have I been? In bed sleeping most of the time because Seth is going to be a Big Brother!!! That's right I am officialy pregnant! Some of you may already know as I keep a diary on Preconception.com under Kathy K. and I announced it on there in the enrty dated 10-7-02. :o) Everything seems to be going well so far. I did have some spotting in the beginning that went away. I will be seeing my Doctor tomorrow for the first time. You can read more about my pregnancy in my last entry over at precon if your interested. I will hopefully be moving over to PT real soon so look for me over there soon as well!

*Speech Therapy*

I heard back from the ST two weeks ago saying our insurance is all okay and Seth could go and she would get back to me with some appointments. Well, I haven't heard a thing from her as of yet! I am not sure if I am in denial over Seth possibly having Apraxia or if he's truely just a wee bit behind in his speech! (Don't get me wrong I do think Seth does need help with his speech - I just don't think he has Apraxia). Over the past couple of weeks Seth has said water, more - he has also signed this as the ST has told me I should use some basic sign language with him. He has also been saying MA MA YEAH!!! It's so good to hear him call me that finally!!! He has also been trying to say other words. He has also been saying I want Buzz or I want ? as I can never really make out many of his words that he uses. I swear he speaks his own language sometimes. I do have to say I am a bit upset that the ST hasn't gotten back with me yet as I would like to get the ball rolling and have Seth be evaluated. I also have been thinking it this particular ST may not work for us. It's not that I don't like her or the Clinic it's just that they want to see him twice a week for a half an hour each time and the clinic happens to be 20 minutes from our home! It's in Children's Hospital of WI. so I know it's good it's just a bit too far I think. I have heard of ST that come to the home and I think this would work the best for us. So when and if I ever get an appt. with this clinic I am going to ask them to refer us to one that can come to our home.

*A trip to Sun Prarie*

On October 8th Steve, Seth and I went up to Sun Prarie WI. to visit with Steve's cousin Jeff and his girlfriend Andrea. They had us over for a nice spaghetti lunch and than we went to a Local Fire Station just down the street form their place. The Fire Station was having an open house. We got to see a Jaws of Life demo on a car, Seth got to hold a fire hose shooting water at some bowling pins, a ride on a Fire Engine ~ Seth and Steve got to ride in the front seat! We also got to go up in the bucket ladder of a Fire Engine. Seth didn't show much expression he just had a serious look on his face the whole time we were there. After that we went to a park where Seth had a good time on the slides and swings. Then we ate Pizza for dinner and after that we headed for home. Seth slept the whole way home from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. so when he got home he was not tired at all!!! I had to stay up with him till midnight!!! He was good though and as I rested on the couch he played with his toys and watched a little T.V.

*My parents 40th Wedding Anniversary*

This past October 13th was my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary! My sisters and I gave them a party. It was at my oldest sister Gail's house. We had it in her back yard to be exact. We rented a tent and everything turned out very nice. It could have been a tad warmer as it was in the 50's and a bit on the windy side but, the sky was clear and baby blue and it was very sunny at least. On Saturday the 12th my sister Laura and I made two dishes for the party. We invited approx. 60 people and 50 showed up! I was so tired the next day. Seth was a bit overwhelmed by all the people as he was very clingy to me the whole day. All in all, it was a great party for my parents. I am glad it's over and it turned out so nice! :o)

*Prayers Please*

Please keep my Dad in your prayers as he will be having surgery this Friday to remove some of his Colon. He has Diverticulitus (SP?) and his Colon has some pockets on it that could rupure and burst so the best thing is to remove it. So please keep him in your prayers Thanks!

I am sure there is more but, my mind is drawing a blank so till next time...
