*Nail polish on the carpet*
Some of you may already know this story from my posts on other boards but, I want to record it here for Seth to read someday.
It was on a Sunday afternoon when it all happened. Steve, Seth and I were in our master bedroom. I was folding sheets and Steve was in the shower. Seth was playing with the books and toys that are in our room for him. I looked up for a second to make sure Seth was okay and I realized he had a bottle of my nail polish. He had somehow managed to twist it open and when I saw that he had it open I yelled NOOOO!!!! Seth got scared from my reaction and threw the bottle onto our carpeted floor. After it happened Steve (Who was so good about the whole thing and still is - even though it really was my fault for leaving the nail polish on our dresser.) looked on the internet to see what we could do to save our carpet. It said to blot it with finger nail polish remover using a white cloth. I sat there for a half an hour doing this with no progress. Steve ended up going to the store to get more nail polish remover and oxi-clean. Unfortunately, Neither of these worked. I was getting light headed and loopey though...even with the fan on and windows open! Needles to say, I am the proud new owner of a finger nail polished stained carpet. :o( I did call around for professional advice and one place said they couldn't even try to get it out. The others said they could try but, gave no guarantees. Our house is only four years old. :o( We have decided to just leave it and live with it for now. We might get a rug to put over it until we figure something out. We do have extra carpeting that the builder left us so, we may just have it patched. I am not sure how it would look though. Our carpeting is dark tan in color. Every time Seth sees the stain he says "UGH OH" and points to it. I think it looks like blood. I took a picture of it so, if it turns out I will try to post it on here.
*Two year pictures*
I took Seth for his two year pictures two weeks ago. I didn't think we would get any because Seth was very clingy and wouldn't get down from me. We went to The Picture People it's were I have gone since I had Seth. I go to the one in my home town of Racine as they seem to do the best job around our area. Since Seth was clingy we tried all sorts of things but, nothing was working. I then asked the lady if we could try the car. WHEW! Seth liked it and finally started to warm up after 15 minutes that is. The girl who took Seth's pictures was great she was so patient and spent more time with us then she had to. All in all Seth's pictures turned out good and I ended up spending $80.00 on them! She got this really super close-up of Seth it turned out so adorable. I want to post it here but, as of now the computer that is hooked up to the scanner is out of commission. As soon as it gets back up and running we will update Seth's web site and I'll send the picture in to be posted on here.
*Neighborhood block party*
This past week we had our first neighborhood block party. The subdivision we live in is quite new approx. 5 years old. It is finally finished with all the houses built and people moved into them. We decided to go in the afternoon as it was from noon to 6:00 p.m. Seth ended up falling asleep around 12:45 P.M. so we decided to let him sleep and go a little later. I had to make something to bring anyway. I decided to make Puppy Chow (thanks to one of Steve's co-workers for the recipe) which ended up being a big hit. :o) It's always nice to bring something that people like. It sure is a messy thing to make though! I was glad I hadn't scrubbed the floors the day before as I had planned. I was sure glad it happened that way though...imagine powdered sugar all over the floor!). Seth finally woke up at 2:00P.M. We packed up his stroller and headed down the road to the area that the party was being held in. There wasn't too big of a turnout but, I did get to meet some new neighbors that I didn't know before. Seth had a good time they had a sprinkler, sandbox, basketball(for adults and children),a picnic table with markers, crayons, coloring books, bubbles and a sandbox all set up for things to do. They even had face painting but, we got there too late for that. It was a good time all around. Seth had a blast too! I did re-meet one woman who happened to live in the exact same apartment building as we did just upstairs from us! I kept thinking she looked familiar and when we got to talking we both realized we knew each other. I thought that was kind of neat.
*Help!!! The terrible Two's are here!*
Yes, being two years old is proving to be rough on us and Seth! Seth is constancy getting into some kind of trouble with me having reprimand him. I feel as if I am saying "NO Seth" all day long! I feel horrible that I have to keep saying no to him. He has also spending some time in his room as well. He has been quite the climber he climbs the cabinets to peek up on the counter and grab anything he can. He has taken to throwing any toy he can find across the room. I really hope this phase goes by fast. He has also been climbing on the kitchen table. He has been into some kind of exploring mode again. He can unzip zippers and dumps out bags in two second flat! We have two closets down stairs that slide open. We store our recyclable and soda in one. This one happens to be Seth's favorite at this time he dumps out the recylables and I am finding soda cans every where...empty and full! I have no way of baby or should I say child proofing these any suggestions?
On the better side of things with Seth. He is starting to say a few more words and trys to repeat words if I ask him to. Just this past week on my girls night out with my friend Stepanie. I had just put Seth in his car seat in Steve's truck so they could go out to McDonald's and do father and son things together. As Steve was pulling out of the drive way I was standing waving at Seth and he was waving with his tiny little hand and I could see he was saying bye-bye. I went to blow him a kiss and after I did Seth blew one back at me for the first time! Talk about my heart melting! I missed him a little more then usual that night too! I still had a great time with my friend and of course we both ate way too much at dinner. Including the Tuesday night pie ritual of ours lately.
*Congratulations to my dearest friend and family*
I just want to congratulate my friend Dawn on the birth of her third child. Jessica Alexis was born on August 20, 2002. She is absoulutly gorgeous! She weighed in at 7lbs.6.8oz. She was 18 inches long. :o) I am so happy for you guys!
A week after Jessica came home Dawn noticed Jessica was having some sort of tremors that concerned her. Jessica was also a bit jaundice poor little girl has been poked everyday of her life to see what her levels were. Well this past Tuesday Dawn got concerned with the tremors and called her ped. They weren't sure what was going on so they decided to put her back in the hospital for some tests and observations. They thought she might have been having seizures for some reason. All of her tests came out normal and she is now home doing well and her billy-Rubin levels are down too. I would like to ask any of you out there reading to please pray that everything gets back to normal for them and Jessica stays healthy with no future problems. :o) Thanks!
Till next time...
(((HUGS)))
