Time seems to be flying! I can’t believe Seth is going to be 2 1/2 years old on Feb. 5th. I am amazed that I’m already 20 weeks pg with this Little Sweet Pea too. That means I am half way done can you believe it!?! Half way already!!! So in 20 weeks Seth will be a big brother!!!
*Thinking of what it will be like with two*
Lately I have been thinking a lot about how Seth will do when we bring the baby home. I wonder if he’ll be happy or somewhat upset that he’ll have a new sister or brother. For the most part I think he’ll do fine because he loves other kids and is very gentle when he’s around babies. One good thing is my best friend Dawn has a little girl, Jenna that’s the same age as Seth well; recently Dawn had her third baby a girl, Jessica. We visit them often so I know Seth is familiar with a new baby in a family from visiting them. We have been telling him about his new sister or brother for some time now too. When I ask him where the baby is he points to my belly bellys as he calls it. He sometimes gives it a kiss as well it’s too cute! I think he understands that there is a baby in my belly but, not that it’s going to come out and live here with us. I would love to hear from any of you who went from one child to two and how your first child reacted to his/her new sibling. Any suggestions on making this transition a little easier for Seth would be great as well!
*Our first visit to Betty Brinns Children’s Museum*
If you are ever in Milwaukee Wisconsin with your children you will want to make sure you put this on your list of things to do!!! I can’t believe I have never been here myself. The price isn’t bad either. It’s like a dreamland for little ones! (I even caught myself wanting to jump right in and play. The kid in me couldn’t resist)! This Museum is so neat it has all sorts of kid friendly activities. The activities are divided into stations. Some of the stations they have are a kid size dinner like restaurant which includes all the plastic food, plates, a cash register with pretend money in it, a countertop with little stools, a huge sized refrigerator and oven. It is so neat! Another station has computers and whole news set including a video camera! There are many more stations as well. It even has a special area for children 3 and under that includes a sand table, puzzles, blocks and many other age appropriate activities. We also saw a clown show. Seth wasn’t too much into it but, he did get a free red clown nose after it was all over. They also had an area about clowns and the circus. They had all sorts of dress up cloths for the kids to play with in this area again Seth wasn’t too interested in this part of the museum. This particular area must get changed every month and some new thing must come in. The clowns said that they would be at the museum through a certain date as well. Steve had fun trying to do the spinning plate trick and I gave it a try as well. Let me tell you it’s a lot harder then it look as neither Steve nor I ever figured it out. Seth, Steve and I had such a fun time going from activity to activity. We ended up staying for five hours! One word of advice if you do happen to go is to pack your own lunch!!! The only restaurant that was available at the time was at the Milwaukee Art Museum across the street and it was a bit pricy. I also felt like you didn’t get very much for the money we spent on it either. I ordered a Bratwurst, It was called the welcome to Milwaukee bratwurst well it came with sauerkraut and I ordered it without. Steve ordered a hot dog and let me tell you his hotdog was bigger then my brat!!! Being from Wisconsin bratwurst is a big thing so I was really surprised to see such a small pathetic thing in front of me when it came. It sure wasn’t any welcome to Milwaukee bratwurst if you asked me! There is a new restaurant opening in Betty Brinns Museum some time this year but, I wouldn’t trust it after our experience. A packed lunch will definitely be coming with us the next time we visit!!!
*My little movie man*
Seth just loves movies! He can watch them over and over again! His favorite happens to be Monsters Inc for the past couple of weeks. Last month it was definitely Homeward Bound and before that it was Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2. I am amazed at Seth’s attention span and hope he’ll keep it. At least the movies Seth likes are pretty good and I don’t mind watching them over and over too. The only problem I was having was with Homeward Bound if you’re not familiar with this particular movie it’s a great one and I suggest you give it a try. It’s about two dogs and a cat who get left at a ranch while there owners are living in the city for awhile. Well long story short the animals don’t quite understand why they are left and they feel like they need to find they own way home because they think their owners need them. So they decide to run away from the ranch and end up having a big adventure in the wild as they make the journey home. Well the problem I am having is at the end when they all make it back home to their very happy owners. I end up bawling like a baby!!! It doesn’t matter how many times I watch it tears stream down my face. It must be these pg hormones!!!
*Seth’s 2 year molars*
Seth two year old molars are finally coming through! All his teeth have come in later in life so this does not surprise me. I just feel bad for him because I know he doesn’t feel to good when they are coming in. He has a hard time sleeping, eating and his mood just isn’t a very happy one when they are coming in. He does like brushing his teeth and I am trying my best to do it twice a day. Even with his molars popping through brushing his teeth doesn’t seem to bother him I think it actually feels good to him. My mom wasn’t too good at helping me in this particular department and I am paying for it now! I have had so many cavities and still get them very easily. My mom was a very good mom to me and I love her very much. We have a pretty decent relationship and always have. This was just one of the areas that she was lazy in with me. I think it was because I was her third child and I did come six years after my sisters. At the time I didn’t realize how important it was to take care of my teeth and she didn’t keep me from chewing bubble gum or eating things I really shouldn’t have when I had braces. I really hope I can help Seth and this next little one so they don’t have to go through life with bad teeth. My teeth are okay now but, I am embarrassed to smile with my teeth showing sometimes as I do have discoloration in/on them. I do take very good care of my teeth now but, the damage is already done. I could have them fixed but, this would cost us a small fortune and we just don’t have the money for it at the present moment. I just hope I’ll keep my own promise to prevent my children from going through all of what I have.
Well that’s about all I can think of for now so I am going to stop writing till next time. Hope this entry finds everyone is doing well. Thanks for reading and feel free to post us a message it’s always nice to hear from you! :o)
