Ian~21 Months
Lucy~EDD 11-24-04
YES, I'm still here! I'm sorry I haven't updated. I rarely get to log onto the computer upstairs because I can't leave Ian alone for 5 seconds without him getting into trouble. GGGRRRRR!!!
I just wanted to let everyone know that we are doing well. I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and I feel great. Lucy is moving a lot and my belly is growing, growing, growing!! Our next appointment was scheduled for the 9th but I changed it because I had no one to watch Ian and it's my 1 hour Glucose Test and there is NO WAY I'm taking him. I changed it to the 17th and that way my SIL in from New York can watch him. LOL
Ian....well, what can I say about him? He is an insane child. He is into EVERYTHING...I think I've said that before. LOL He really is trouble. Yesterday I have to admit was one that I'd like to forget. I *tried* getting some laundry done and he would not leave the TV cabinet alone. It has glass on the front and it's not the highest quality so the glass can be slid out of the brackets. He manages to get it off track and then sticks his arm in to grab the DVDs or turn the knobs on the stereo. After about the 15th time I had enough. I was done yelling and close to tears. I couldn't even go to the bathroom without him doing it. Finally, the straw on my back broke and he was taken to his crib. I let him scream and be pissed. I called Jim and I completely lost it. I cried for 10 minutes and said I was losing my mind with Ian. I just want him to BEHAVE for 10 F*#*ING minutes so I can take a piss! I took a nice long shower and just cried and got it all out of my system. Adding to my tension was the fact that I didn't have anyone to watch Ian on the 9th. It just piled up on my shoulders and I lost it. Ian stayed in his crib for a few hours, luckily napping. The DVDs are now in a basket in a secured area. LOL
Gender Reveal
Our gender reveal "party" wasn't much of a party. We only invited a few people and of those only my BIL/SIL made it. My friend, Misty, called me the Saturday before and said they couldn't make it because her BIL's newborn daughter had died that morning. She was 7 days old and died of SIDS. Not much comfort to her parents. I just felt awful that we were going to be celebrating our baby and their family just lost theirs.
I was also SO sick that Saturday. I woke around 1AM on the 10th and had just a terrible stomachache. I tried several Tums, sleeping differently and nothing worked. It was terrible. I think I finally fell asleep around 6AM. Jim and Ian went to the store to get me some ginger ale. I came downstairs to get some around 8:30AM and had to run to the bathroom to throw up. It was awful! I just stayed in bed all day and drank ginger ale and tried to eat crackers and toast and broth. Of course, Ian was an ANGEL for Jim that day. We decided that if I wasn't better Sunday then we wouldn't do the gender party. But luckily I felt great on Sunday and we got to have the get together!
So, it really was uneventful. I opened the envelope and there were 2 ultrasound photos in it. I didn't look at them and just peeked barely into the card. I saw, "It's A"...I closed my eyes and held the card right up to my face and looked and it said GIRL! My SIL and I were jumping all over the place like school girls. It was funny!!
We called our families to let them know and then sat down to a wonderful steak dinner and gave a toast to Lucy Katherine...in rememberance of Jim's grandma Lucy who has passed away and to my grandmother, Gloria Katherine, who is still alive and kicking! It was a nice day and I was grinning from ear to ear all night!!! The card is still on the mantle and I walk past it and just smile. I'm thrilled! I didn't care if it was a boy or girl at all. A boy would have been great for Ian. Grow up as great friends like Jim and his brother. But a girl would be great too because now we have our rounded out family. Life is sweet!!
Jim is leaving for Oklahoma for work training on Sunday and will be back the 13th. His brother is flying in on the 12th, then his sister and her boyfriend are coming the 16th thru the 22nd. I think his parents will be arriving here on the 23rd!!! UGH!! Busy busy!!
Guess that is about all from here. This turned out longer then I had anticipated! LOL I will update after our next appointment and give you the stats. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

(who isn't using spellcheck...sorry!)
