Ian 19 Months
15 Weeks w/#2
I know it’s been a while since I posted and I apologize. I’ve been pretty tired lately and just haven’t had the energy to sit down and compose an entire entry. BUT, I know I need to get this done and tonight is my chance.
So, here we go:
Jim was out of town last week. He was in Oklahoma for work and seemed to enjoy his time away. They feed him 3 squares a day, there is a pool, basketball court, tennis courts, bar, billiard room…etc. I am insanely jealous that he was there because it’s a hotel run by Marriott employees but is owned by the Postal Service. Jim stays for free but when I’ve been there it is so cheap for me. It’s wonderful. I don’t have to clean anything, a maid is there, I can sit out by the pool and read the newspaper, meet Jim for lunch and then feed the ducks and then meet him back for dinner and then just hang out all night. It’s great. But, now that there is a little boy in the house I have to stay home. Maybe someday I can take a mini-vacation with just Jim.
Ian~
Oh my gosh, this child is insane! He is so busy and so rough and so into everything! He climbs everything and touches everything and licks the TV and picks up his food with his entire face. He runs around in circles just because and laughs when he falls to the ground. He can throw a ball farther and harder then any little kid I’ve ever seen. And he is accurate! Right to you. Maybe a pro ball player in the works!
He had his 18 (almost 19) month check-up on May 5th. Before that he had been to the doctor for a cough that wouldn’t go away. Took him in to the pediatrician and they prescribed him Albuterol with that lovely child attachment for the treatments. That went over like a led balloon so we were back a few days later and found out he had strep throat. 10 days of Amoxicillan and he was good as new. At his check-up he had gained back the weight he lost and he got a thumbs up from the doctor. He weighed in at 28 pounds and 34 inches long. He doesn’t have to go back until October for his 24 month check-up.
He is chatting up a storm. Let’s see if I can remember all his words: daddy, dada, momma, mommy, diddy (kitty), ball, boon (balloon), door, shoe, down, bye bye, Maah (for Uncle Matt), wow, uh oh, cheese and the new word of the week…NO! “Ian, do you want some cheese?” NO! “Ian, let’s change your diaper.” NO! But along with the word NO are the headshake and the dirty looks. Boy, it is hysterical. It’s hard to keep a straight face when he does it. Little turkey butt! He is just so much fun now. So much personality. But he does keep me busy and that is rather exhausting with this pregnancy.
And speaking of pregnancy…
We had our 12-week appointment on May 12th. I met Jim at the office and we had Ian because I thought he would like to hear the heartbeat but I was wrong. LOL I was weighed and I gained back the 2 pounds I lost from January. My urine was clear and my blood pressure was low. Can’t remember now what it was. Something like 100/60. That sounds about right.
The midwife told me that my blood work from my previous appointment was great. No problems. She told me that I had the opposite of anemia. That my numbers were some of the highest she’s seen. We spoke a little more about having a VBAC and she did inform me that if I start dilating on my own that they will then break my water, but they won’t give me pitocin to start me to dilate. I’m still holding out hope that I will be able to deliver this baby vaginally but am prepared if I have to have another C-Section. She also told me that I would not go over my due date. Speaking of due dates….I’ll talk about that more in a few…
We got to listen to the heartbeat but it was muffled by Ian’s crying. But it was there and the midwife said it was about 165 beats per minute. She then felt my uterus and said it felt a bit high. Much higher then it should be for being 13 weeks. She got us in for an ultrasound right then and what a great sight to see. There was my little peanut, arms and legs flailing all around. There was the perfect heartbeat and 2 legs and 2 arms and a head. It was great to see. The ultrasound tech said my uterus was high because my bladder was full. And in fact, the baby measured 8 days smaller then my due date. SO, my NEW due date is November 24th. One day before Thanksgiving. I’m not thrilled with the change at all. We have purchased my parents plane tickets for November 15th thru the 23rd. My mom isn’t sure she can change her days off with work because she is needed for the day after Thanksgiving. She works for a major clothing company that has sales almost every weekend. LOL I’m sure you’ve seen their TV ads! And I guess because of the due date change that has put me into a small depression. I just really wanted my parents there for the delivery. And there is a chance they won’t be there. It just really made me sad. Is there anyone out there who has gone thru a depression during pregnancy? What did you do to relieve it?
I am definitely showing. I’m at 15-weeks right now and I personally think I look like I’m about 20 weeks. I’m in between sizes right now. Not quite into full maternity stuff and I can’t wear my other clothing. It’s a bit frustrating. My maternity pants are just too big and baggy and my regular jeans are way too tight. I have two pairs of regular jeans that I’m getting by with. But it’s in the 80’s and 90’s here in Georgia and I have no shorts or capris that fit. Gosh, I’m just falling apart! LOL
My next appointment is on Friday June 11th. I’ll go alone, thank goodness! I believe that is when I’ll be scheduled for my AFP.
Wedding Anniversary
Saturday marks my 6th wedding anniversary. I can’t believe that we have been married for 6 years and together for 8 years. I’ve been with Jim longer then my last relationship and I am SO grateful that we have each other. He is my soul mate, he is my very best friend and I can’t imagine my life without him. We have made a wonderful life together and have created two brand new lives that we can’t imagine not having. Yeah, we may not be the richest people on the block, we drive old, rundown cars and we live paycheck to paycheck, but we have a house full of love and a mountain of memories that will help us thru the rough times. There is nowhere I’d rather be then here with my husband, my son, our new pregnancy, our cats and all the toys that are cluttering our living room. It’s my heaven.
We will be enjoying a night out at a steak place in Buckhead. Just the two of us!! I get to dress up a little and flirt and enjoy the evening. It’s going to be great.
Guess that is about all. I will update after my appointment next week. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and a great weekend. Stay cool!
Kathee
