Hello all! Another quick note to say hello!
We've been having a rough week here. Starting on Saturday Ian got a runny nose. He had that and general fussiness. No fever, no other symptoms to make me believe he's ill. We figure it's a tooth but he won't let us check without a fight. I guess when we see some new teeth in his mouth we'll know that is what it is. He's also been waking up in the 7 o'clock hour every morning since last weekend. And for me this is difficult. I'm a night owl. I could stay up all night and sleep all day. Needless to say, I've been getting little sleep and I've even had to force myself to go to bed earlier but I just lay there listening to the gale force winds we've been having. He was awake early this morning at 2AM and I laid down with him until 4AM. He was crying again at 5:15AM and up for the morning at 7:15AM. Mommy is tired!!
Some new things Master Ian has been doing….Let’s see…he says Momma, but not in the context I’d hoped for. He just rambles on and on saying mommamommamomma…he doesn’t look at me and say Momma like he does with his daddy. He will see Jim or a picture of Jim and point and say Dada. It’s the cutest thing. He will occasionally say ditty (for kitty) and he does say Baa (ball) all day. I guess there will be a day that he says more words. I’m a bit worried but everyone tells me not to be. He’ll talk soon enough is what they say.
He is just such a big kid. I think he is almost 35 inches tall and will be 17 months old on the 15th of this month. I can hardly carry him anymore because he just weighs too much. He has discovered how to throw a temper tantrum and boy are those fun! GEEZ! Terrible! It seems like there is something that sets him off all the time. Like it’s the worst day in the history of Ian. We were at the mall and I was making him hold my hand and apparently he didn’t want to. (Like I was embarrassing him in front of his “buddies” LOL) He buckled his knees and went backwards. I made sure he didn’t crash his head into the ground and then let him go for it. He did some thrashing and crying and kicking. I just stood there and stared at him. I wasn’t impressed. I’m sure I did way better when I was his age. HAHA! It has been interesting trying to find a way to get thru these without caving into whatever he wants. Most of my days are spent sitting in front of the toy box playing Little People Airport. FUN…
What else is going on in the house? Well, it was beautiful here last week and we spent everyday outside playing. This week it’s been a bit chilly and the wind has been awful. We had some gray days and a little rain but nothing to count towards our drought.
We are leaving for New York tonight. I’m very excited. My in-laws purchased our tickets as our Christmas gift last year and we are heading to Long Island for their 33rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party! It’s on Saturday and I can hardly wait. We are staying a week and we are planning on heading to Manhattan on Wednesday for the big parade for the actual day of St. Patrick’s. My MIL is going to take the day off to watch Ian and Jim and I are going to have lunch, see the parade, go to Ground Zero and then just wander around. I cannot wait! Then next month we are planning on going over to St. Augustine, FL for 2 days. My in-laws are flying down there to see my FIL’s sister. That should be fun too. Then on the 6th of April Jim’s brother and sister are coming down for 4 days. We’re going to be busy busy!!
Now, with that being said, I must go. Jim is coming home early to pack and I still have to shower and finish packing. Hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!
Congrats to Amy and Dan on the birth of Peter Kenneth! You rock girlie!!
I’ll leave you with a great Irish saying:
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Have a great weekend!!
