Introduction
Hello all,
I am sorry for not writing in a while. We have had birthday parties and illnesses.
First, Abigail's birthday party. It was fabulous. The families showed up and played with Abigail all afternoon. She had her first piece of cake -- and she loved it. We all laughed as she kept digging into her piece. Though, she was rather upset when she finished and could not have any more. It was very cute.
Onto to illnesses.
Everytime Abigail starts teething, she gets a diaper rash. This was has been the worst by far. She was essentially naked and in the bath for two days straight. Nothing we could do would make it better. It got so bad that she cried whenever I put her on her changing table because she knew that it would hurt when I changed her diaper.
I finally called her dr. to get a prescription -- which finally started to work today. She now does not scream when I change her diaper, but she still flinches because she is expecting pain. I am amazed by this because it is a true sign of her memory and experiences.
Maybe someone can give me a little advice. At Abigail's party, another mom approached me and was surprised that Abigail is not quite walking yet. She will take a few steps here and there, but she mostly crawls. This other mom was stunned that Abigail was not mostly walking. Her daughter was walking at 10 months. I thought that babies develop at their own pace. I have not (up until now) been too terribly concerned about Abigail not walking because I figured that she would start when she's ready. I don't know if the problem is that now I am aware of Abigail's developmental process -- or lack there of; or, if I am just amazed that someone else would point out that she is not as good as their child. Any thoughts?
Love,
Kaia and Abigail
