THE HEAT MUST STOP!

Cat has a fantastic new swing set, and I can't even take the poor child out to play on it! It is 110 degrees in the shade. It really sucks. She cries and cries "SWING MAMA SWINNNNNGGGGG!" I have to tell her "no" because of the heat, and when the sun goes down the mosquitoes attack. She is out of luck both ways. Honestly I do not recall it being this hot when I was a kid. My mom insists that it was, I think she is a liar.

Steve and I celebrated our first anniversary this Monday (Labor Day), and we were so broke I bought one card and we shared it, LOL. We decided instead of getting ourselves something cheap and not so great, we would pool our resources and buy Cat a VCR (was $60 on sale). Her mee maw (Steve's mom) gave Cat her old, but not really old, TV. So now she is the only toddler I know with a 19-inch Magnavox with a brand new Sony VCR on top! She is gonna be the most popular kid on the block.

Cat Now my "Deep Thought of the Week." I find myself falling in love with Cat. From the second she entered this world, I loved her. But now she is a real person with feelings. I can hold conversations with her. We talk about everything that we can. She knows exactly which heartstring to pull to get whatever she is wanting. The way she looks at me and calls out "MAMA" when I come in from school makes me want to cry sometimes. Those fierce little hugs she gives are the highlights of my day. Like both of us can hold on and never let go.

I had always heard the term unconditional love, and I thought I understood it, but I did not. Sometimes I think that God made a big mistake giving Cat me for a mom. But then I realize that he was right, Cat doesn't need me, I need Cat. She is my sunrise in the morning and my sunset at night. She is my Angel with the wings I can't see, but I know that are there. She is my everything.

I hope this does not sound really strange! I tell her I love her every day of her life, but when she is older and reads this, I want her to know that every time I said it, I meant it.

I love you, Angel.
