There is so much that has happened in the past week, this is going to be a monster. I started night classes Monday, and I tell you it is much harder to leave Cat at night. In the mornings she is groggy and doesn't really notice that I am gone, but at night all of her senses are fully functioning! Steve tells me that on the past two nights she screams for the first hour and she is bad for the rest of the time. So when I get home I have the joy of grouchy sleepy baby and grouchy sleepy husband.Plus, I got wonderful news from the state of Mississippi. Cat is starting day care in August and for the State to pay for her to go I have to get a job consisting of at least 20 hours per week. It doesn't even matter to them that I am a full time student! For Mississippi to assist with day care, both parents have to be employed. So now I have no idea of what to do. How am I supposed to be a full time nursing student, a mom, a wife and a housekeeper and cook PLUS work outside the home??? They told me that they did it this way because a lot of people were enrolling part time in school just so they could get free day care for their children. Basically, a few bad ruined it for the rest, but that is the story of life isn't it?
Now for the worst thing. My mom had her graduation ceremony this past Sunday. I told her I would go because she is my mother and I love her, but there was one condition. I did not want to even set eyes on her husband, my infamous stepfather, the bad guy. She agreed, but guess what. I was not in the auditorium for 5 minutes and there he was. I panicked and grabbed Cat and hid like a little child. I swear I felt five all over again. All that kept running through my head was keep him away from Cat!! My grandmother and Aunt were there and my little white haired grandma (picture) went up to him and told him to stay the hell away from me and my child or she would personally kick him in the you know what. It made me feel good that she cared that much, but it made me feel silly because this 70-year-old woman was braver than I was. It is my personal mission to find a way to help people like me and to make sure that Cat is better educated about what is right and wrong when it comes to people touching her than I was.
Now on to a lighter subject. Cat is finally starting to speak more. She has grasped the fact that different animals make different noises. And since her name is Cat, you got it, she walks around saying "meow" ALL DAY. It is really adorable. She is speaking more and more and now asks for a cup. On the potty training front, she now knows when she is making poo poo and tells me "poo poo mommy" when she is dirty. She loves to sit on and flush the potty, but the only time she makes pee pee in it is by accident. It looks like she is going to be relatively easy to train though, and that is a great relief for me. I find her getting very aggressive lately, as far as hitting and biting are concerned. And, if you tell her "ow," she just giggles and says "ow" right back to you. She knows all of the shapes in her shape sorter and is now getting the idea of what blocks are for. She is starting to want to wear my clothes and shoes and she loves to wear her daddy's work boots. Well, I have typed way too much and lil bit is getting grouchy for some attention so I am going to run! Catch you guys next week!
