Hello. So, I finally have time to post an update. School is finally over!!!!! 7 weeks of stress and worry! Very fitting of my luck, my average for the class was an 89!!! So, I got a B. But I am okay with that. I couldn't have tried any harder. I was hoping my professor would give me the extra point. I never missed a class and participated in discussions. But, the grades were based 100% on exam and lab scores. It was the labs that did me in. I had to learn all of the bones of the body and then all of the muscles in the body each in a week and have the written exam on the same days. That's a lot to learn.
So, now I have two months of freedom from school. I turned in my application for nursing school and I should know in late October whether I'm accepted. But, I really feel like I appreciate this free time so much after not having any time for 7 weeks. I can spend time with my family again on the weekends rather than studying all the time. I can eat dinner with my family again. Can you tell how happy I am?

Emma- what an ordeal this has been. If it hasn't been school worrying me, it's been Emma. She has recently been diagnosed with reflux disease based on a milk scan test they did on her. She's apparantly had it her whole life and the only symptom she's exibited is her refusal to eat. Well, she's on medication (Zantac) which we get her to drink in her pediasure. She doesn't seem to notice too much, so that is good. She hated to take it with the dropper in her mouth. It seemed to help her a great deal and there were some days where she ate so fabulously that we were thrilled. She has hit a plateau and has a limited diet that she gets very bored with. So we're still not sure if she will need to go to the eating program at CHOP. I keep praying that one day this will all be behind us.

She is so stubborn and strong-willed. She doesn't listen to me sometimes. Yet other times, she could not be any sweeter or more lovable. She loves to snuggle with me and it is so obvious to me how much she loves me. Her little face lights up when she sees me, or Ray, or Maddie. She is expanding her vocabulary every day. She calls herself "Momma". I'm "mommy". Ray and Maddie are both "Daddy". She calls Dora "Dada". She says please, no, oh-oh, shoe, one, three, James, Molly, Kacie (Cee Cee), and a whole bunch of others. She will repeat a lot of words too.

Maddie- always doing well. She gives me hardly half the headaches Emma does. She is an adorable, loveable, and fabulous child. She has her moments of course but so does every child. I only wish that I could spend more individual time with each of them. WHenever we go outside, Emma wonders away and Maddie would like to swing on the swings. So, of course we follow Emma because I can't let her wander away.

That's another thing. I want to move!!! I love my house, it's my yard I can't stand. It's so small. We are sandwiched in between two houses. We can't go outside without being on top of our neighbors. There's no privacy. And now, they are building houses behind us and have put a walking path, three feet from our property line. So, I can sit at the dinner table and watch people go buy and stop and look at us. I would like to just be able to go outside in my own yard without hearing or seeing a tractor (the constant theme for over a year), hearing every word of my neighbors conversations, and being on display. Or worrying about Emma walking into the street. It's so frustrating because houses are so expensive now. My house has appreciated over 100,000 dollars since we have bought it. Good for us, but so has everyone else's. So, unfortunately I think we have to stay put. I love our neighborhood and want to stay in it. We have a very nice house and live in a very nice neighborhood and town. I think to find what we are looking for we'd have to pay a fortune.

Well, I have to run. We're going to Maryland tomorrow to go on my parent's boat. The big drive of going is so Maddie can see her first fireworks. I can't wait. I hope it doesn't scare her.

Take care, and thanks for reading.

Jessica
