Jessica's Diary Entries

February 11, 2004

Yes it is true. Emma took her first steps today!!!! I couldn't have been more surprised to see my sweet little girl take three whole steps with a witness and everything. She is changing a lot. She saw a baby today and pointed and said "a baby!" clear as can be (with a witness too). She absolutely loves to be on Maddie's bed. Don't ask me why, she just loves it. She will point and grunt until you put her on it. She has no sense of safety though because she would fall right off if I didn't stand right there. She will sit up and fall backwards onto Maddie's pillow and then just crack up. She loves Maddie's little stuffed animals that she keeps on the bed. Especially the Bear in the big blue house ones. She is trying to talk more. She stopped saying Maddie and Daddy for awhile and now she says them again all of the time. She loves this picture of four bear angels in ther room and must touch it. She will not stop pointing and grunting until she can touch it and then she just lights up with this look of satisfaction. I can't tell you how exciting it is for me for her to interact with us more. She has the sweetest personality and I am just loving seeing her turn into this little person. And she's going to walk too. I really didn't think she would anytime soon. I thought she would do it when she was ready and felt comfortable, like maybe in a few months. Can you tell I'm excited? It was a great day.

I loved school. THis was my first weekend. I think I could get used to doing something for myself and just enjoying it instead of feeling rushed or guilty that someone else is watching the kids. I can't wait to go to nursing school. I think I might even look forward to Microbiology next semester.

Not much else is new. We are all finally healthy, or close to it. I ended up having to take extra medicine to deal with a side effect from the first medicine, but I'm finished so yipee.

Take care and thanks for reading.

Jess
